How I take notes as a medical student and busy athlete + morning in the life
มุมมอง 1.6K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
As a runner and a medical student I am very short on time, so uni has to be as efficient as possible. I hope this little rant about how I take notes on my iPad is helpful to some of you. Maybe you are about to start university for the first time or just want to change up the way you take notes. This is what works for me, and so far it's worked pretty well. Apologies if you've landed here from m...

Quick explanation of what inward bound is! It’s a massive deal at ANU, so I thought it’s best to explain the event to everyone before I go and get dumped in the bush 100km from safety

Herping the black soil (North QLD Part 2) Australia

This summer we spent a month herping our way through North Queensland. This video covers the second phase of the journey, Charleville to Paluma. Due to torrential rain and flooding, most roads in QLD were closed. So instead of going to Mackay as we planned, we went in the opposite direction to Mt Isa. Logical. *no animals were harmed in the making of this video* . . . . . 🏞 INSTAGRAM 🏞 Photogra...

Young Endeavour V08/18 - sailing to Sydney!
i was in the u18 mens when the real storm hit, couldn't see in front of myself
Yeah that was nuts! Was yours the one that got shortened last-minute?
Wow your TH-cam came up. That’s crazy that also have one 🤯 (although I’ve literally just started and have no idea really what I’m doing) and I realised we have so much in common, like studying Medicine! 🙌🏼 Clearly was fate meeting you at Bankstown! ☘️Congrats on an awesome XC race too, bigger things ahead for sure!!! 🎉🌋💚💛
Oh my goodness that’s so funny! Fate indeed!!
the track feels like it never ends!
it was a really bad track up there so wet -_-
Nah I loved it, so hardcore 😂
good job! im glad you enjoyed tassie I live in hobart and I came 7nth when i was there
Oh amazing congrats!
hi! I'm actually just completed with my first semester but by the time I enter the program I would have completed my first year. As far as my "strong record of academic background" is concerned I only have my first semester SGPA. Also if I'm supposed to submit my high school results they are not that good. Also is providing the IELTS score compulsory?
so chill :)
WOOOO another banger from my favourite runner/content creator!!
YAYYY
I love the sprinkle of chaos
I swear there’s always something 🙃
Hey Bridget, would you mind telling me if I am major in marketing, is it okay to apply for this exchange program or they require must be a biological students or relative fields?
I don’t think it matters too much what your major is - you should be able to apply. The only problem I can see is you might have trouble explaining why you’re passionate about pursuing your particular research area if it’s not what you’re choosing to study at uni. But I’d say give it a go anyway!
@@bridgetlThanks, your answer actually motivated me! How about research topic, does it start with simple step? Do they train participates before it starts? one participate own one topic right? I think I might interested in some topics, but if it start with some levels that I could not caught up with. I might get trouble and can not finish the project on time.
Hello. Thank you for the helpful video. Could you please tell me how I can choose and upload the lab information as required?
You'd have to see what the instructions on the website say sorry!
Hi. I have questions on some topics. Firstly, what subject were you studying and what was your university? Secondly, can you please tell us what were the achievements that you included in your résumé? For the extracurricular activities what points did you mention? Like photography and running? Lastly, can students who are pursuing an MBBS degree apply too? In that case, can they apply when they're in the first year?
hey, sure. I was studying biology at the australian national university. In my resume I had things like all of my part-time work through school and university, my volunteering as a running coach and some of the research projects I had done during my studies as part of my degree. I'm not too sure about MBBS sorry. it probably depends when it is and how much time you have, as for me doing postgrad medicine now, we don't actually have any break that's long enough to fit the internship in
Hi i was just curious smabour how you got accepted meanwhile you seem to be an englader and is there is a chance to get accepted from Africa continent
they seem to have changed the eligibility process from when I applied. When I did it, anyone could apply from any continent
Hi, I want to apply for the program and want to connect with you. Please suggest how to connect with you.
hey, feel free to ask any questions on here, as it might help other people out too with the same questions 😊
Hi, I would like to apply for this program. When the program happens, I'll be in summer 2025 and transitioning from 1st year to 2nd year. Will that be eligible?
Hello, you should certainly be able to, but if it’s changed since I’ve done the program it’ll be on their website
Thank you for the video. It’s been quite helpful
I’m really glad to hear it!
Hhhhhhh I just watched ur video about Amgen and how u said that helped u to decide on going to med school and now u Posted this video, that's a cool coincidence, and I'm also a first year med student we gana Start in 1 the first of Sept so this video is very helpful

@@jamiemr9824 very cool, what's the name of ur medical school
I love this fatass so much omg
Hell yeah! If I could watch an hour of Lerista wiggling I would!
these mfs died bro
Aidan was way too energetic before the race
That gilleni was definitely a bit too cute just cruising around your feet.
I know right 🥺
Love lizards/reptiles, fantastic video, thank you. Bit sad/deadly that a lot of your specimens were found on the road!!!!
Reptiles tend to like the road because it holds a bit of heat for them. But we do find a lot of snakes already squashed 😭😢 some people try to hit them on purpose unfortunately
awesome to see pogona henrylawsoni in the wild! i have a pet one and havent seen any vids including them so very stoked that i came across your vid!
Telowie Gorge mentioned ‼️‼️‼️

Nice video. Amazing effort getting your runs in on a trip like that!
Thankyou!
That buffel grass is fucking everything up here in the states too. Great video! :)
Didn’t realise it was a problem there too, sorry to hear it! We need people (governments) to start taking invasive species seriously 😒

This video is very helpful for me as I was looking for ex Amgen scholars' video regarding the program in detail. I want to ask some other questions so if you can tell me a way to reach you It would be a great help for me.
You are welcome to post the questions on this comments thread, so that other people who may have the same questions can read them as well, otherwise my instagram is linked in the description
thankyou!
hope it helped!
Very detailed and useful! Thanks for sharing!
glad to hear it!
Hi, thanks for your vlog! It amazing! I am planning to apply for this program this year and I have a few questions. Would you be kind to help me? 1) Do scholar really do their own research that they have designed or do they just get involved in projects of that lab and do some small part of someone’s project? 2) Were two month enough to finish a whole research project? 3) Did you did all your lab work alone or was your supervisor or lab members always there with you? I would really appreciate your answer! Thank you!
Hi, thankyou! I just published a video about this actually! but to answer your questions: 1 - normally yes your project will be a small subset of someone else's project, but that's just how science is, and it's the best way they can teach you. Your project will still be entirely self-contained, it will just also be part of something bigger, if that makes sense. normally your project will be a compromise between what you want to do and what your lab can offer. 2 - yes! because you are working full-time, it is plenty long enough to finish the research project (by means of answering your initial research question). But if you don't get all the way to the end that's also totally fine, some people don't, and it's just the virtue of their actual project. 3 - some parts i did by myself but most of the time i had a lab member there with me teaching me how to do things. because you are only there 2 months, the aim is to learn as many different techniques as possible rather than repeat the same thing. so i'd get taught how to do something, be supervised the next time i do it, do it by myself next, then I'd probably have reached the end of that experiment anyway
@@bridgetlThank you!
That was a Bearded dragon
yep! He's had that one as a pet since he was a kid
I actually didn’t make out much or hear the scientific names clearly, but nice herping, and it seems that you had a good time.
Hi Bridget! I'll be applying to Amgen this year, can you please help me out?
just posted a video answering a bunch of questions about this, I hope it could help you out!
Hi Bridget! I'll be applying this year to Amgen, can you please help me out?
Yes for sure, I'm scripting a video answering questions about the internship / application process right now, so send through any questions you'd like me to cover :)

why do i find these things cute
I think they are cute too! In a weird, slimy way 😂
Oh my lord that was a cute little crucifix. Man ya'll saw a hell of a lot of DORs tho
I know, it's so depressing... to think about how much wildlife has been killed through land clearing etc, the deaths on roads are just the icing on the cake
