Hi man, I study to HSK from huge Anki deck on mi videos that i found online some time ago. Since the exam standards has changed can you recommend some not outdated resources?
I think basically, there are many sample exams on TH-cam for HSK that you can use. I used them too. They are very helpful
I'm on intermediate level of French... The whole time you were speaking Cameroonian French, I'm just staring at the screen blinking. But standard French, understood most of it. I'm watching your videos because I'm trying to see what African francophone accent I prefer to sound like. But I'll keep watching because I don't want to be looking strange saying répétez ça encore every time
Hi, I know this video is a couple years old, but I'm 15 and am moving to China for a year as an exchange student starting August. I just wanted to say your videos really do motivate me to keep practicing, so thank you!

If you decide to live in Europe, then I suggest German but French is also a good option. Outside of Europe, French is definitely more useful. German probably won't get you anywhere.
Go raibh maith agat!😺
I know some people are gonna start bashing me, but here's my opinion between German and French. My native language is Portuguese (even though my English is ok to an extent) and I find German much easier to learn than French. The reason is you can simply just pronounce every word that's written similarly to Spanish, which makes reading and oral parts much easier. Some people think that French is very similar to Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. Well, think again. French is not a phonetic language. There are many exceptions to pronunciations that often confuse tons of people. For example, there are many cases where you don't pronounce s in a word, whereas you would do with other Romance languages.
Eu tô estudando francês e é HORRÍVEL praticar com pessoas francesas, eles falam tudo cortado, tipo, eles juntam todas as palavras e a frase fica confusa, acho que tô entre aprender alemão ou alguma língua escavandina (Sueco ou norueguês)
do you think the free version of the app is fine? or should we get the premium?
I found more use in the full version, however, this is because I did not use the free version. I got access to the premium version from the start
🤣🤣🤣
I love the accents lol I’m American with Cameroonian parents “Bread is a type of baguette” 🤣 that’s my favorite line
Hi! I am happy that you like it.

Hello, I passed the HSK 2 exam past December 10th, I am watching this video as motivation because I'll start my HSK 3 study journey this year. I feel motivated and excited! All the best to you all too!
Good luck. I am seeking to take HSK4 exams this year
French is more important if you are referring to a language being a global language. Of course, German is probably the most important language in Europe due to its enormous German-speaking population, but French isn't behind at all. If you are looking at the European Commission and European Council, French is also an official language with German and English, which means its status is almost as important as the other said languages. However, outside of Europe, German is pretty much out of existence, unlike French. There's a huge widespread amount of French speakers on almost every continent. Even Dutch has an official status outside of Europe (Suriname and Dutch Caribbean). German used to be a common language in Namibia but now it's slowly dying.
So funny 😀😂✋

French is more useful for arts and social sciences. German is more useful for scientific purposes. However, if you are looking for the purpose of being able to get involved in a community, then consider this: Travelling or living mostly in Europe (Learn German unless you want to stay in France, Romania or Belgium) Remaining outside of Europe (Learn French or Spanish, finding German speakers is extremely hard)
Saying that finding German speakers is hard outside of Europe is absolutely not true. Aren't German speakers extremely common in Namibia? Almost all of the white population can speak German. Plus, here in the US in the states of North Dakota and South Dakota, the amount of people who speak German as a second language is higher than those who speak Spanish.
@@colehill3286 Bro, there's only small amounts of German speaking communities outside of Europe, unlike French where it's quite common. Those aren't even easy to find so good luck on that. Also, German used to be commonly spoken in Namibia when it was a colony of the German Empire. Now, it's slowly dropping and becoming replaced by Afrikaans.
@@colehill3286 As someone who speaks both English and German, I would have to disagree with you. While under German rule, German was one of the official languages in the country. Namibia was a German colony (under the name German South West Africa) from 1884 until 1919. After that, the country was under South African control. Since then, the country started to gain more influences through English and Afrikaans, which were 2 of South Africa's official languages. In 1990, following the Namibian War of Independence, the region gained its independence from South Africa under Namibia, which is the country name that's still used today. Even though some of the older generations still speak German, the amount of German speakers have been declining due to more influences in English and Afrikaans. As for the US, the amounts of German speakers is extremely low. The states of North Dakota and South Dakota only contains 5% and roughly 1.37% of German speakers respectively. Like, that's not even a lot compared to Texas, which has 29% of Spanish speakers. Don't assume this from another media. Do some research and actually have evidence before presenting your point. While German is taught in many countries as a second language, it's not used a lot outside of Europe, whereas the usage of French and Spanish are extremely common.
@@colinphillipps8089 To add on to the topic that you mentioned about living mostly in Europe, I want to add 2 more countries. They are Spain and Portugal. If you were to learn German, you wouldn't really have much luck in these 2 countries. While a lot of Portuguese tend to learn English as a second language, due to high English proficiency in Portugal, a lot of people residing in Spain often learn regional languages. However, Catalan, French, Arabic or Romanian are also common second languages. Plus, even in Portugual, French and Spanish are more popular options for second languages, alongside English. German isn't even on the list of popular non-official languages in these 2 countries.
@@colehill3286 I gotta say that German is a dying language outside of Europe. Certain families that speak the language may use it to communicate with each other but there's hardly any communities that support German as a primary non official language. So, if you were to stick with German, I strongly suggest sticking to European countries.
This video makes me want to learn your accent neither French nor German!
Dude your chinese pronunciation is amazing
Thanks a lot. I am glad to hear that
you are very inspiring! I speak English and French and at school i’m learning German. I didn’t like it at first but now I love it!(since the start of this year)
Maaan I loved your way in speaking especially in the first of the video ❤️❤️❤️
I can English Turkish and German. My question is should I learn French or italian
Both are really beautiful and pleasing languages to study. Italian is more phonetic, easier to pronounce and understand than French. But, besides being a little harder, French is way more spoken all across the planet and it's the official language of many countries, influent institutions and organizations. That said, unless you have very specific reasons to learn Italian (like If you plan to go to Italy on a trip or for work), French is more useful overall.
Wow nice home! I bet you live somewhere in north europe. That doesn't look african at all.
Thanks for watching the video. Yeah I live in Germany. And you? Where do you live?
