I can understand how it might feel like there’s no way forward when life brings such difficult challenges, like brain injury or damage. But I want to remind you that God’s love and grace reach beyond what we can understand, even when our minds or bodies struggle. The Bible reminds us in Romans 8:38-39 that nothing-not even the hardest things we face, including physical or mental struggles-can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Our faith isn’t always dependent on our ability to understand or feel it clearly. Even in moments of doubt, confusion, or brokenness, God holds onto us. It’s okay to struggle or to feel like your faith is weak, especially in the face of something as difficult as brain injury. But know that God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we feel like we have nothing left, He is still there, holding us up. I’ll be praying for you, that God brings healing, clarity, and peace to your heart and mind. Remember, God is with you in every moment, even when things feel overwhelming or out of reach.

@AlanCornett-vm7bd I’m so sorry to hear about the deep loss and struggles you’ve been through. It’s heartbreaking to face so much at once, and I can’t imagine the weight of everything you’ve endured. But even in this pain and confusion, I want to encourage you with this truth: God still has a purpose for you. It may feel impossible to see it right now, but the fact that He’s kept you here, even after facing death multiple times, means He’s not done with you yet. Job in the Bible went through incredible loss-his wealth, his family, his health, and yet God restored him in ways he could never have imagined. In Job 42:5, after his intense suffering, Job says, “My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you.” Through his trials, Job came to know God in a much deeper way. Sometimes, the hardest seasons we go through can lead to the greatest revelations of God’s love and faithfulness. I know it’s hard to understand why things happen the way they do, but your life still matters deeply to God. There’s a reason He’s keeping you here, even if that reason isn’t clear yet. Romans 8:18 reminds us, “The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” God can use your story, your resilience, and even your pain to impact others in ways you may not realize. I want to encourage you to keep pressing into God. Ask Him to reveal His purpose for keeping you here and to show you the next step. He is with you in the midst of your loss and suffering, and He hasn’t abandoned you. Even when it feels like everything has been stripped away, His love remains, and He is holding onto you. You’re here for a reason, and God is not finished with your story. Keep trusting Him, even when the road is dark, and know that He’s walking with you every step of the way. I can understand how challenging and confusing it must feel when you're unsure of your purpose, especially when it seems like nothing is going right. But I want to remind you of a powerful truth: You are not alone in this struggle, and God sees you right where you are. First, know that you are not a mistake, and God has a purpose for your life. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Even when we don’t see it clearly, God’s plans for us are good, and He is working behind the scenes in ways we may not understand right now. It’s also important to remember that God doesn’t expect us to be perfect. Romans 8:28 tells us that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Even when we feel like we’ve messed up or things aren’t going the way we expect, God is using every part of our story-our successes and our struggles-for His greater plan. The enemy loves to make us feel like we are constantly failing, but that is not God’s voice. God’s voice is one of love, encouragement, and grace. He is patient with us and guides us step by step. Ephesians 2:10 tells us, "For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." You are His masterpiece, uniquely created for a purpose, even if it’s not clear right now. Keep trusting God, seeking Him in prayer, and spending time in His Word. Your purpose will unfold in His perfect timing. Don’t give up-God has you here for a reason, and He is not done with you yet. You are loved, you are chosen, and you are valuable to Him.

It's so important to trust the Lord in times of uncertainty, especially when it comes to big life decisions like retirement. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” God knows your needs, your health, and the desires of your heart. If your passion has diminished and your health is being affected, it may be that God is leading you toward rest and renewal. Remember, even Jesus took time away to rest and recharge (Mark 6:31), and it’s okay to seek God’s will in that direction for yourself too. I’ll be praying that God gives you and Joanne the clarity and peace you need to make the right choice, trusting that He will lead you on the best path. The story that comes to mind is from Daniel 3, where Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar's idol, even when their lives were at risk. They told the king, “We will not serve your gods,” trusting God to either deliver them or walk with them through the fire. And as we know, God didn’t just save them from the fire-He was with them in it. Just like those three men, you're standing firm in your faith by not compromising your values. God sees your heart and your commitment to do what is right. Even when it's hard to let go of the people you care for, He may be leading you out of this situation for your own protection and blessing. Trust that He has a plan for your life beyond this job and will provide for you. I’ll be praying for clarity and strength for you, and that you’ll continue to hear God’s voice clearly as you surrender to His will. I know the word "submit" can be misunderstood or feel uncomfortable for a lot of people these days, but you’re absolutely right-God is the ultimate authority we’re called to trust and surrender our will to. Here on earth, we’re blessed to have church leaders, pastors, and elders who help guide us along the way, offering support and wisdom as we navigate life.

Thanks for sharing this. This is so sad that people willfully reject God... "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Mat 7:14) All praise, honor, and glory to Jesus our Lord for giving us a way to be saved!
