Hello, I am The Mastodon and welcome to my channel. Formerly known as Mastodon Comics and Collecting, this is a new and improved channel that will be covering more than just comic books and collecting. While it is the same old idea, I have decided to make the channel a little less general. Because I realize that one or the other area is not of interest to everyone, when visiting the channel going forward, you will a find new sections, each dealing with a different area of interest. They will be as follows:
General Collecting comic books, music and movies
Live Stream Show
The Cover to Cover live show every other Saturday @ 10pm est

Just caught the replay, Shame I couldn't make it. Great Show Guys
I would like to commend you Donny for an engaging presentation. The additional insights provided by Al, Jim, and James Boatright were particularly valuable and contributed significantly to my understanding of the subject matter music. I appreciate the opportunity to learn something new this evening. Thank you for that👊 The G Man & Queen G !🌹🏵🌹
good recommendation, thanks unruly! great show guys
Awesome haul. One of my favorite was the dark shadows. Mine doesn’t have a poster. 😢
Very nice haul, sir! Greats pickups with those Epic mags, Dark Shadows, X-Men and that stack Sgt Furys! Congrats to you on these uber-cool additions to your collection!
Thank you sir! If you ever get the chance to go to Heroes, do it. You'll have a good time. Thank you for stopping by, very much appreciated. 🙏
Oh classic. My first comic purchase. Changed my world.
I read that and Sgt. Rock as a kid. Funny thing is, the weird war is still happening. Lol. Ha Ha.
Appreciate you guys. Great show. I’m sorry I missed out on it. Next time you guys do something lmk. 🤙🏽💨😶🌫️😵💫😁🤙🏽
Absolutely Pete, too bad we missed each other in person. #heroesconorbust
I wish I could've been there with you guys. Y'all had some great pickups.
You were very much missed.
Hey Donny , I’ve been trying to get ahold you on instagram for three months now, and only thing I know what happened is that I upgraded my account and things went dark, I see your doing ok just let me know if you got any my message -ken
Dang sorry i missed this live :(
That's my error for not sending you the link. It would have been great to have you on. The chat was amazing, I'm gonna have to look at the replay because I'm sure I missed some zingers.
This was great. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It was a lot of fun thank you for being in the chat
i had alot of fun thank you .
Thank you for coming on Kyle, it was good to hang out with you again.

I remember my mom would buy me a comic book every time I went with her to the grocery store as a kid. Weird War Tales was my favorite. I think there was a “sister” publication of similar stories - just without the military slant. Then was I was a young adult in college, I happened to go to a local comic book/sci if collectible store’s annual parking lot sale. I found a box full of these for about $10-15. Not the best shape, but I enjoyed re-reading them. It wasn’t a complete set, but at least 120 issues.
Color me intrigued for the "sister" publication. Are you referencing Weird Western Tales Featuring Jonah Hex? or Weird Mystery maybe? Thank you for watching.
@@MastodonComicsMusic I believe it was the Weird Mystery Tales. I actually enjoyed these types of comics before I ever saw any episodes of The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits. Needless to say I am a fan of those too.
The last two albums I never heard or even the bands but 90s I didn't find much to like.
What other band is the opposite of Devo? Men Without Hats!
Good morning
I remember Whip it was huge! Remember Cars by Gary Nueman?
White Lion!! Straight from Sweden to the NYC and New Jersey club circuit.
Whatd up, beeotch junkies!! I'm sorry I missed this!!! I'd love to be a guest in the future.
I have this but it was published by a independent company.
Hey, France here. This was one of the highlights of my comic book-reading youth. I don't even remember if my big brother had bought it (unlikely) or if if was given to us but it quickly became one of my favorites, partly because of the format it was released in here (big size). Even today I'm in awe at Bill Sienkiewicz's work on that cover, which actually was chosen as back cover for the french release. Go figure! Bright's one took its place as front cover. But I also love Wilson's work itself and the images of the dystopian city and the grim atmosphere really left an imprint on my young brain.
Yes yes yes
Four times
Good evening bros
slow and deliberate is the BEST way to work.
Donny
26:09 the longest 3 seconds of my life! Raul with the cock locked jaw was great!
Excellent show Donny 👊🥂🍻❤️🔥
What up bros
Interesting
Good stuff Donny! Those are pretty new, came out in August. You got some cool ones- that Kirby Surfer board card was sweet and I like the Blastar Red Supernova. Supernovas are a ‘parallel card’ , basically like a variant that has a bit more limited of a print run than the base cards. 🤘🏻
Thanks Kenny, I just hope it doesn't send me down a rabbit hole my wallet will hate me for.
Prince was a Genius
Genius is putting it lightly. Not just a musical talent, but socially as well. The man had words of wisdom that would have had Bruce Lee smiling and Orwell clapping.
Marylin Manson isn't brought up as much as he should be
💯 agree. When he hit the scene it was a major turning point in music, much like the disco era or the grunge era.
The Wall and Appetite for Destruction was the musical Gateway for alot of people
I would say pink Floyd in general. The wall was a massive, but dark side is a big moment for people. Appetite is definitely a top 5 moment in the Mtv generation.
CBGB's kicked ass
Dude, I would have loved to have gone there
@Kpop_Junki and now Kpop talk?
I saved that for the special
Sorry I missed the livw on this one
You were otherwise preoccupied with a great guest. I caught the 1st hour before going live.
Yeah, you get a pass on this one
This version of "informer" was too bad :) th-cam.com/video/Icb_tRTnA4g/w-d-xo.html
I had a lot of fun thank u for the invite
Yeah dude, it was a great show. Thrilled that so many people were in the chat. Thank you again for coming on.
Damn good show! Also, Donnie! I will be in Heaven very soon. DM if you want to come with me. Love you Brother! Excellent show with the Immortal One Biggie Shaq! 🎉🎉🎉
Dude thank you so much for being there last night and being active in the chat. 🙏 I'll dm you here in a little bit my friend.
very nice, brother. the mastodon cave is really coming along.
Thank you sir, I hung a couple panels yesterday my brad nailer was giving attitude though so thought I better not push my luck
I always peek at the packs but never found anything worth grabbing yet
Ollie's is great for their books you just can't beat their prices. Not much in to the Modern comics the have but wow some deals on the books. Tom Baker is my 1st and Favorite Doctor but the 8th should have got more episodes but with it being in America at the time it just didn't sale.
There are many novelizations and audio books with the 8th Doctor. I too find him very interesting. I highly recommend the classic Doctor Who novelizations published by Target. Many were written by Terence Dicks and they add a deeper meaning to episodes especially when the Doctor and a companion part ways. Russell Davies recently novelized "Rose" the first episode with Eccleston as the Doctor, and it was excellent.
Return of the Mack
What up guys
