This is my first Katie video. I can understand why someone from Russia or Columbia would consider moving to the US. But I've traveled widely and encountered a lot of negative vibes about the US. Impressions of how bad things are in the US have been fairly common in my travels. I lived in London for awhile and traveled through most of Europe where, especially in Germany, they felt they were so much better. I've also been surprised at people's miss understanding of the size and variations of the US.
2024?
I would like to comment on recycling (I am an American). When I lived in a California coastal city back in the 1980s, we aggressively got into the recycling "kick". Several Asian nations would take US recycling and produce something to resell. And I get it. It is a crying shame what has to go into our landfills. But here is the downside that isn't well known in this country. Glass, metal cans, paper, cardboard all recycle very well. What doesn't recycle very well is plastic. Why? Several reasons. First, because the recycling industry deals in such volume, any contamination causes the entire load to be rejected (and then end up in the landfill). They cannot cull out contamination and articles which should not be recycled. Second, plastic (unlike the other recycling items I mentioned) have a "lifetime". What I mean plastic breaks down each generation it is recycled. I believe it can only productively be recycled three times (or three generations). After that it goes to the landfill. Third, plastic is a natural byproduct of petroleum refining. So for every litre/gallon of gasoline/petrol which gets refined, there is the natural byproduct of the process with produces plastic -- whether you need it or not. Since it is so cheap to purchase in its first generation, there is not much incentive to recycle plastic.
I came over from André’s account. I appreciate you sharing your perspective and your kind outlook. Americans and our culture really get a bad wrap sometimes, and it can feel disheartening. Thank you for celebrating the little things haha.
growing up there was so awesome
Great video. Thank you.
André, europeanreacts sent me
If they are in your blind spot how do you know there are there? haha. Anywho, most of the crap drivers are people immigrating from other countries, many who have never driven before, so you have to do what we call "defensive driving." I'm pro-immigrants and pro-immigrants driving and I realize I was not the shit when I was first learning, so I give them some slack. But there are forty=year=olds from India who have never driven and you just have to help them by not letting them hit you. We import a million new americans every year. I'm super proud of that fact. My family came over in the 1600's and 1700's and hopefully they were treated kindly. Best of luck.
Andre at "European Reacts" here on You Tube sent me to your channel...I just subscribed! Absolutely love your enthusiasm and vibe. 😍👍

Congratulations. I love hearing these type of stories.
On the one hand there are free refills in the US. On the other hand, the US is supporting a g**cide where the largest group of victims are children age 5 to 9. Gee, I wonder why some people hate the US? 🤔
There’s many reasons we don’t travel outside the states much. Primarily, you can vacation anywhere in the U.S., and it feels like another country. There’s swamps to the south, the great plants up northwest, streams, forests, and hills in the Midwest, canyons and desserts in the west, and beaches/dunes scattered about the country. Also, caverns and waterfalls. You have sites like the national parks, Alcatraz, the haunted city of Savanna, Georgia. Hollywood, West Virginia, which has the most cryptid legends. Local and international tourists visit the region just for the Mothman festival. There’s so much to see and do, so much variety geographically, that a vacation for a Hoosier like me, is visiting the Great Lakes. Michigan is so beautiful and different from other states. Each state is like a country in the country. Each is unique.
Haven’t been to a Denny’s but I had a really great meal at a Waffle House. It was my first time there. I’m from Indiana, this was in Ohio, so it was quite a drive. The service was so nice and hospitable, the food was really tasty, and we did not leave hungry. Even gave the nice waitress a big tip. Sometimes, a good meal from a dinner or restaurant just hits the spot.
We also find it funny, and like to joke. For the most part, we’re pretty laid back and welcoming. America in fact, loves tourists. And there’s a LOT to see. Most, visitors to the states will have seen form Hollywood films: Alcatraz, the Grand Canyon, the western states like Arizona from Wild West films. Harlem and Chicago where movies about the Prohibition were filmed, Route 66c and more. In a funny way, America has made many friends/allies out of old enemies. Funny how times change. You’ll even find some American-style restaurants in the UK and a few in Japan.
Say you on Andre’s review, thanks for just being yourself, enjoy listening to your Accent, so cool 😎.
Thank you , great video
Yes must have a car!!!
I love your insight! God bless you

Watched your video as Andre was reacting to it. Very nice to see things from outside perspective. Thanks
Running back and forth to throw the same horseshoe from the same side was too cute! You might be better suited to play Cornhole, for now.😁 Good luck in whatever you choose in life.❤
Welcome to the United States. We appreciate you! ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻👍🏻🎅🎁
I like Denny's and Ihop 😊
I enjoyed hearing your perspective. Super agree about the convenience and customer service here!
I also came from Andre's channel and wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your comments!!! Thanks for sharing your great energy!
Hey, I'm aldrin from fort worth Texas a new subscriber of your channel. I just wanted to invite you to come and visit if you're inclined. If you're not one of those people who avoid interaction in a comment section that's cool too. Hard to find friends that are genuine these days.
Tall poppy syndrome ? Thank you !! I learned something new.
I grew up here in Rockingham, NC. I've never heard of them doing this there. I think it's awesome. Without being a subscriber, I still wouldn't know about it. I will share this with my family and friends. Thank you for making the vids for us to enjoy. 👍👍
This means a lot to hear - thank you!
Rebellious is one way to describe an American trait and sometimes even the best way. But you have to understand that we were the first country to overthrow the yoke of servitude and choose self governance. Freedom and independence are culturally ingrained as both necessary and proper traits. Of course, not everyone agrees on which freedoms, but that's part of the culture too.
The freedom to disagree - exactly!
Was the last one "f post"? I gathered she means paying with a debit/credit card, but I didn't understand the term she used.
It's called EFTPOS - electronic funds transfer at point of sale. It just means paying with card but in Australia it's called an EFTPOS system. I might be showing my age with that though lol.
@@KatieShowBlog Thanks.
My cousin has been to Australia before but i think she thought the drop bear was a koala... (Hopefully she didnt see one😅)
Haha hopefully not!
Omg I love that you love Denny's! It's a magical place.
The best!
Your shirt is so badass.
Thank you! I love it so much!
Hi! Andre sent me here from his reaction to this video of yours. I enjoyed it.
Thank you so much! I love his reaction video!
I assume it winter in Florida because you are wearing long sleeves. Seaweed clean up early morning. If you swimming at the beach. You will be swimming with seaweed. 😆
Oh yeah plenty of seaweed :D
I agree with you and I am European. In particular the customer service. I am in croatia (across adriatic sea to Italy) and our customer service is really bad, atrociously bad, mostly the closer you go to coast. I do not understand logic behind business owners tolerating that kind of bad attitude from their employees and being completely disinterested in making a profit. Thankfully nowdays I do majority of my grocery shopping online
Lol sounds like you have a good plan figured out to avoid the bad service. I do love the customer service (for the most part) in the US. Thanks for watching!
Good luck to you. Things will get better. A safety tip: do not announce where you are until after you've gone. There are a lot of crazies and stalkers out there. Don't make it easy to find you. Good luck again.
Thanks, appreciate that!
I visited your channel on the recommendation of Andre, "A European Reacts." I enjoyed your video, but I could not understand anything about Item No. 10. I didn't understand the words and the context didn't clue me in. Please explain No. 10! Thanks!!
I couldn't understand what she said either. I listened multiple times. What she is getting at, is, there's not a minimum amount you have to spend when using a debit card.
Its called EFTPOS and stands for Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale. Basically just means paying with card
Yeah, and I haven't lived in Australia for 10 years so things might be different now, but when I was there you had to spend a minimum amount to be able to use a card to pay. Anywhere from $5 to $15 usually.
Me too...I came here after watching European Reacts.
Thank you! I loved his reaction!
Interestingly, I learned New Zealand is the only other developed country in the world where medical advertising is allowed. It looks like they've had a number of attempts to try to ban it over the years, but it's clearly still a thing.
Oh interesting. I didn't know that!
Hey-hay-HAY, Lady Katie, @KatieShowBlog, hey Aussie Girl, just found you, "Good-ay to ya", No.1) You "Call yourself, an Immigrant"; but, not really, Australia is the like the U.S.A. just down under; it's like you just moved here from another America, (kind-of), same people, from the same place, (originally), same language, (except for brekky) 😃👍 No.2) You are the very "Kind of immigrant" we just love, you get it, you appreciate it, you are exactly what a real "American" is, good-on-ya! Cheers to Ye Matey! God Bless you, sweetheart, by Christ Jesus Holy Name? Amen?🙏✝💞
Lol, still an immigrant. All the best to you and thanks for watching!
@@KatieShowBlog 🤠🙏👍❤ Yippy-Ki-Yay, Cowgirl.😅
Sent by Ande: awesome!
Thanks for checking out my channel. I loved his reaction video!
You're wrong about big trucks but to be expected from an immigrant woman. Question for you..what do you use to tow a trailer with a skid loader? How do you tow a dump trailer full of gravel? How do you tow a travel trailer on vacation? Yeah, with a big truck!! I can't live without my truck!
Lol it's not that serious! All the best to you and your big truck
I come here from European Reacts as he reacted to this video. Nicely done. I'm Canadian but it amuses me just the same. I am also going to subscribe to you.
Thank you for watching! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
@@KatieShowBlog You sum up how I feel about Canada and being a sibling country to the US. This video is so positive for the US that it makes me smile. I am glad that you live there and enjoy it. North America is a wonderful continent with wonderful (some not so much but that's normal everywhere) people.
I like your observations about Murica...but...in the most Murica part of Murica, Texas, we NEED our big trucks, and our even bigger ones, too. I love my RAM2500 because I fit in it (I'm 6'4"/235lbs). Yes, I often straddle the line between parking spaces because in the newer parking lots the spaces are too little...and forget parking garages. You just never know when you might have to go off-road, so it's better to be prepared for when you need a big truck so you won't get caught needing one and not having one. Same with guns, BTW.
Lol, love it. In Texas you probably need a monster truck :D
When women catcall a guy, a guy likes it. Why? Because it is so rare. It's like seeing a Dodo bird. It just doesn't really happen for nearly any man. I had it happen about 5 years ago and still remember it.
Good point lol
Really well done video because you organized your thoughts and didn't ramble unnecessarily. Re #10: I have been to some thrift stores with a minimum spend for credit cards, but that is certainly very understandable. This was my first "The Katie Show Blog" video. Looking forward to watching more of your content!
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words!
