Canadian politeness is a façade. They are superficially polite and when they say "have a good day", they do it because they are programmed to do so . Two characteristic examples : 1) yesterday on the bus a frail Chinese lady was struggling to get her walker on the bus and the bus driver standing right next to her would not lift a finger to help her ,telling her instead " come on you are strong " and 2) I was going to my lawyer's office ,a man I had paid $6000 to do a job for me . I took 2 buses and 2 subways and walked 2 kilometers to get there . Upon arriving there ,I asked to use the washroom and the secretary flatly refused to let me do so . I begged her as I was really in the need to do so but she wouldn't let me . That is Canadian politeness in action .

Hi Mel. Great video. I live in Brampton, Ontario, near Toronto and Mississauga. My friends and I have been noticing that servers are not the same as before. Alot of times they just plop your food down without any eye contact. If you don't order alcohol you tend to get crappy service. If you ask for water alot of times you just don't get it. My biggest beef is that the server returns to re-fill your coffee cup when it's still full, if you ask them to return later they never do. My friends always notice that when we go out to eat and the server brings everyone their food (which is their job right) why should we tip according to the price of the bill? She's bringing the food that the the chef cooked. Also, what about tipping at a buffet? Are we tipping them to bring us the bill? We went up and got our own food and drinks. Also, what about those tip jars for take out? Does that make sense? I hate the term "indigenous", it's like stereo-typing a group of people. 50 years from now politicians will be telling us not to use that word. Looking forward to another video. Go Leafs!!
