09.52 LNER Azuma direct from Aberdeen to London Kings Cross. The journey time is around 6 hours & 45 minutes. A nice journey down the East Coast Mainline. I think the most scenic part of the Journey is from Aberdeen to Edinburgh Waverley as you follow the North Sea quite a lot and cross to amazing Bridges. The Tay Railway Bridge & Forth Railway Bridge. As we pass through Edinburgh we eventually...

So useful, bless you,manny thx!
How do you know when you need to get off the bus at the right busstop, without having a big screen with busstops written on it, or an automatic voice system calling the next stop? It seems to work differently in Scotland than in the Netherlands, so I'm having a hard time taking the bus in Scotland lol?
Some Buses in Scotland have the Big Screen with voice system calling out the stops especially in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee and Aberdeen etc. I know most of the stops so when getting Bus from Dumfries up To Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station it’s the last stop so that’s a easy enough and Hamilton Interchange in Hamilton South Lanarkshire is the stop before. I must not call the X74 a Bus it’s a Coach. Driver pointed that out to me and started lecturing me telling me the difference between a Bus & a Coach 🤣😂
@@globetrotter1977 Ah thanks for explaining. 🤗
Looks great...just stumbled across this and recognized the name...i remember watching you walking around Arran all those years ago with Andrew.
Ah Brilliant mate, Great memories with Andrew on the Isle of Arran and many other walks. I really miss Andrew left a big hole in my life. Cruel life he was only 38 😢

Just a Note for You all, If you Get the G9 “Citylink Gold” Service From Aberdeen to Glasgow it’s Much Quicker & Has No Stops, it’s a Direct Service & You Get Refreshments on Board. 06:05am 10:05am 14:05pm 18:05pm This Service Runs Every Day including Sundays. Another Gold Service From Aberdeen is the G92 to Edinburgh, this Departs around the Same Time Every Day. The Edinburgh (G92) Stops at Dundee, Hallbeath “Park & Ride” (Near Dunfermline) Then Edinburgh. I Woulde Highly Recommend these services as I Always use theses When I Travel To Glasgow or Edinburgh. Be Advised to Book in Advance as there is High Demand for These Services. Dougie.
"this is a southeastern service to St Pancras International..." and?
I love Glasgow. I visited only one day but it is in my heart.❤
Great video.Thank you. Well done😊
Thx for this cuz when I take the train to see my grandparents I’ll know what to expect they live in Kirkcudbright but that’s not a station anymore so ill get off at Dumfries and get them to pick me up
Very welcome Daniel, it’s a pretty good service except on a Sunday not as many. I still don’t understand why the first train from Dumfries to Carlisle on a Sunday is as 13.00 & 13.50 to Glasgow Central. Yet if you live in Kilmarnock or Ayr you can get a early Sunday morning train into Glasgow Central. Kirkcudbright is a nice little place it’s a real shame all them railway lines were closed wish they would reopen them all
Nice empty carriage to take your pick for seating
That's a rattly old bus! Saw one of these on the X74 route to Glasgow, which must have shaken a few teeth loose! Nice journey though and good filming.
Thank you for the video. Home sick now.
Welcome John, glad you enjoyed the Video. You might have to take a trip to Ayr

Long time since I took that train, 1978 was it.
It’s a nice Journey Russell, definitely worth doing again. Am sure there will be a few changes a long the route now.
My wife and I are planning on short break to Glasgow, from Newcastle in May, but unfortunately tickets are still not available to book. However, a friend suggested we look into travelling via Carlisle then up the WCML to Glasgow, rather than the more obvious ECML to Edinburgh route. Wowzer! I thought .. what a brilliant idea .. perhaps going via Edinburgh but returning via Carlisle, giving us the opportunity of seeing different scenery and even trying different train companies. We actually used LNER in November for a trip to London (or first train journey for 20+ years) and have already booked another trip to Edinburgh for march (again LNER) On the ECML there is the Lumo train as well as Trans Pennine Express to perhaps try and Avanti on the WCML. Yes, there’s ScotRail too, but I prefer the fancy trains How do you rate the various companies mentioned and as far a scenery is concerned, would the Carlise WCML version warrant the extra £20 cost. (extra cost for two, based on 2nd class tickets in April)
Hello Brian, I would suggest the same. Take the Tyne Valley Line from Newcastle across to Carlisle then catch the Avanti West Coast Service from Carlisle up to Edinburgh Waverley. Transpennine Express also operate The WCML and stops at Lockerbie en route so better to catch the Non Stop Avanti West Coast Service to Haymarket & Edinburgh Waverley plus they rarely get cancelled. I would do the 2 different routes as they both have lovely scenery. I would say The WCML is more rugged and more hills to see en Route as you cross The Beattock Summit Avanti West Coast and LNER are both high in my expectations great train companies that have never disappointed me. Transpennine Express have some nice new trains but unfortunately they have had appalling service and very often cancel so I would try and steer clear of them if you can. The extra £20 isn’t bad especially for a change of scenery. You won’t be disappointed 🙂
@@globetrotter1977 Many thanks for the great reply. Yes, I think that's what we'll do .. one way, via Carlisle and the WCML and the other via ECML Having not been on a decent train journey for at least 20 years, I am hooked now. As well as the 3-day mini breaks with my wife ... London (November 2022, Edinburgh in March and Glasgow in May) I noticed there was a sale on a couple of weeks ago for Northern Rail and got 4 day trips to Seaham, Hartlepool, Hexham and Prudhoe / Wylam (walking in between along Tyne) all for a grand total of £12. Regards from Whitley Bay

HelloI just Google this walk and you popped up I have to do this journey in April I’m a fellow Soot I was bit anxious but feel easier after I watched your video as seems much a straight walkway as I’m part sited 50/50 would you recommend this walk for me or Taxi I would appreciate you advice thank you in advance I have submitted take care now kind Regards MoMo x
Hello Mo, it’s really straight forward I think you would be ok walking but there is a few roads with traffic lights to cross also there are buses outside Euston Station too. The walk isn’t very long and it’s on the same side of Euston Road as Euston Station so you don’t need to cross over to the opposite side of Euston Road. If you have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask. Kind Regards Jason x
@@globetrotter1977 Thank you so much do appreciate you reply I’ll give try if to much I’ll taxi on my return take care MoMo x
Great video and post. I have travelled on the M9 many times from Glasgow to Aberdeen and vice versa - I'm thinking of taking a trip up to Aberdeen soon on the M9 - i like the journey and you captured the good bits of the journey down. Great video.
It is a great Journey Mark and very quick too. My favourite is the train but I certainly don’t mind the Coach. Long as I am not driving I am happy. My Car is really only used for work. I can’t be bothered with the stress of driving and the time you often spend finding a parking space. Train, Coach & Bus no hassle at all 🙂👍
looks comfy hopefully i can get one from glasgow to aberdeen early in the morning in February when i go up to my sisters for a week or two edit: if the waits more then 2 and a half hours id definitely try and find somewhere nice for breakfast there should be some nice places
It is very comfortable always better to sit upstairs as you can see a lot more. You can always take your own food and drink too. Many places you can have a nice breakfast
Great stuff!
Enjoyed this very much. I’ll need to try the Javelins.
Thank you Tim, glad you enjoyed it. I will get a look at your videos. Thanks for subscribing I have also subscribed to your channel. Very nice trains the Javelins and that HS1 route from St Pancras International is spot on. I use it often.
