How do you safely power down the unit?
I have had this unit almost two years now and I have yet too get it to work. There is no helpline anywhere and no useful videos. Tioral waste of money

0:54 "Like reserving a charging station" - Unless I'm mistaken, that's not possible. You can check how many are available at a charging station, but not reserve.
Tesla isn't the first to have a "connected" car. Frankly, nearly all auto manufactures have a method of connectivity. The question is how secure are they. For example look at the CAN bus (Controller Area Network) - first introduced in 1980. There have been many hacks long before Tesla produced a Model S, X, or 3 even. Kenneth - thanks for your comment. Agreed that Tesla is far from the first OEM to use onboard connectivity, as it dates back to technologies like GM On-Star that used analog for calls. However, no manufacturer has allowed so much of their vehicles to be modified, controlled and updated like Tesla has. As someone who has been in IoT for 2 decades, I can say that this is exciting yet bone chilling ... as for the charging station, I had seen a news report that an owner mentioned how nice it was to be able to reserve a station. Apologize for not following up on it.
I agree how bone chilling it can be. The general public would not use many items if they fully understood risks. I have done my fair share of white/grey hat hacking in the past. I'm also in an industry that helps keeps companies secure. I used to attend DEF CON all the time too so this video brings back memories: th-cam.com/video/OobLb1McxnI/w-d-xo.html I am an owner of a Model 3 now and I have a particular friend that is very deep into hacking/security. So we might have to play one day do some PEN testing.
Kenneth - congrats on the ride! Having done some work with Tesla in the past, I think they seem to take security pretty seriously, so in the end, the concern may not be too warranted. However, in the world where things move to the Internet, it does open up new areas of concern that we can never be complacent about dealing with. I enjoyed your comments.
