What kind of person just dumps perfectly fine wood
Professional tree services that remove multiple trees every day. Getting rid of the debris can become a real hassle. Very strict rules around burning, and dump fees are expensive. Most wood goes to firewood and the primo logs goes to a mill. Those are rare though, we are rarely removing "perfectly good" wood that a mill wants. It's also a long drive to the mill and time/diesel is expensive.
Companies that have actually run their numbers. Wood is extremely unprofitable and is only worth the labor put into splitting and cutting it, and even then with a free source of wood, it is way less profitable than tree removal.
.30 cents in se ohio a board foot the whole log about 30-40$ but white oak on the other hand is over $2.50 a board ft. Almost as much as walnut
Yeah, I'm a tree service and not a logger. Whenever I can though I take logs to the mill rather than the dump for a little bonus.

Check on some woodturning websites, most of us dont like the pine because its to sappy but some enjoy it, maybe make a buck instead of taking it to the dump
Interesting how professional do things. Someone like me would probably do a dumb thing and push it somehow I get the feeling my idea will destroy property. Dont forget those hatchet videos and the video my wife took of the two elms.

Good videos. As for your ramp brackets, you’ll need ramp bracket that are “channels” or ramp brackets “pins”. Like the ones you may see in the back of trailers (semi trucks) That will allow you to put the ramps as close together as you need. Also I feel you need something heavy that more in construction or freight business from what I saw in industry. because like you said-there isnt any freedom with those brackets. Overkill is good from what I saw in commercial industrial equipment. Overkill being to most people but if you have some expensive equipment you want it. You’ll have to unweld the current brackets because like you said the brackets are too wide. It should be able to withstand heavy duty use and those may be ok but I would unweld it and put some heavy duty brackets. I saw the 2 ramps you already had today and they look sturdy and heavy but brackets you had to hook them need to be channels or pins. Pins are better because you have more freedom especially with the work you’ll put them in. Also if you put new brackets you’ll have to unweld those already there because of stress on welds. Thanks again for felling those trees I still dont know how you fell the last tree exactly parallel to the first by yourself and without a rope as a guide. I mean how is that even possible that tree was like 3 to for stories high. As for your equipment, they are nice. There isnt any bad with your dump trailer and that bobcat looks like a solid workhorse . I bet you are proud of that purchase.

Well just don't cut it! Not an ideal position on this, had a hard lean right as it got skinny. Not to worried about cutting high because it was not physically possible for it to come back my direction.

Hard and dangerous work
Video from last year where we removed 7 pines in 1 day. This video always makes me laugh for some reason. Left a hell of a divot in the yard.

It came from a measured stack and we also stacked in on site as well. If he wants to measure it then go ahead.
Also helps that this is a small town and I run a licensed and well known tree service in town with a good reputation. People are pretty trusting when they can see your work and know your other clients. Just don't screw it up.

It was actually on fire when I arrived. Client had the idea of burning it down so he started a fire in the hollow trunk. Obviously this would have never worked.
