Getting that membrane/paint off of the resistor is super hard. And then inspecting the circuitry I found no breaks, even under magnifying lens. I think the best advice is to buy several of these resistor cards and replace as needed as they're all cheap Chinese garbage.

Very cool, the cloth in my Pioneers are ok, but I wondered how one would go about replacing a cloth surround. Looks like it would have been a lot more of a pain without the paint as a stiffener.

My Tamron 18-270 had the same problem. A screwdriver... 5 minutes... and now it's OK!!! Grazie mille Adrian!!!

I have a B285 that I just acquired. All seem fine with the unit except that it will turn on (especially) by itself, and will also switch modes on occasion like from CD to Tape. Any thoughts as to what's happening here?

When I plug the power cord, the fuse blows.... do you think I can test first the power supply alone, buy disconnecting it from the receiver and then plug the cord again. That will tell me if the problen is in the power suply or in the rest of the system? (problem ... supply....sorry for spelling)

I purchased one of those when I was 16 years old in 2001 I think. I still have the reciever and the speakers. It still works almost as good as it did when I first bought it. My center channel quit sending out a signal about 8 years ago but I still use the other 5 speakers. If the center channel would work I would buy some new speakers for it. I know I've used it alot throught the years and I never expected that unit to be with me all the way to my 30s. I wouldn't mind bridging the center and subwoofer channel so I could use a 10inch subwoofer however as I mentioned the center channel does not put out any audio

Key point here is that the mechanism has a coiled spring inside. It has to be wound up first by hand, like winding up an old mechanical alarm clock, before threading the cord and tying the knot on the end. This way it has the proper recoil action

Your video provides a starting point for restoration of a CT-F900. It will help the novice immensely next time by adding close up views that show what exactly you’re removing and more importantly how you’re doing it. We can’t see these important steps in your wide shot. Same thing with the replacement of the belts. You need to show your viewer where the belts are during the removal and replacement steps. People will want to know what size belts they need to have and where they can get them. Same thing with the replacement of the idler and drive tires. Viewers also need to know where they should put new lube throughout the cassette mechanism. Even the disassembly of the faceplate and other parts should be shown. And finally the music makes it difficult to watch your video all the way to the end. It’s too dramatic not to mention loud. These are only simple tips to think about before you do another video.
