Always hated this version of Venom.
Best Venom version,he's a absolute monster with no heart,not a pussy anti-hero or pussy god of symbionts.
The fact that Gargan wanted Parker to kill him in case he gets taken over was the most noblest we expected from him.

This game was a solid sequel to one of my all time favorite games, but I'd love it a LOT more if it hadn't gone with Civil War as a plot. HATED that event.

This is actually kind of interesting. There’s a *little* baseline respect despite the obvious contempt. I wish more of a character dynamic had been built between Peter and Gargan as Venom

If no one liked it, it wouldn't have lasted for years. Mac Gargan has one of the most influential and iconic Venom designs in history, Web of Shadows, Ultimate Alliance 2, and his entire phase as his host shows the monstrous part of Venom that is sorely missed nowadays.

How does gargan know Spider-Man’s secret identity? Did the symbiote tell him?
Marvel ultimate alliance 2 story is set during the civil war, in this event after some heroes cause an explosion that kills a lot of people, the goverment wants to control every superhero in the Planet by a document, but they want to force the héroes to reveal their identities, captain Améria is against this and iron man in favor so a conflict between the two was just a matter of time. Tony recludes múltiple héroes to follow the goverment desires and reveal their identities, Tony managed to convince Peter to reveal his identity in a public interview that was broadcasted all around the world, after withnesing with his own eyes what Tony was doing is wrong, he switches sides and Iron man start to recruit criminals and psychopats to his team. This is from the civil war comics, i recomend you to read them, you will like them.
I really didn't enjoy this game. I remember trading it in after beating it. The original was literally perfect
if u gave scorpion web shooters he could literally be spiderman he even has his own "senses which are similar to the spider sense"

The best part about Gargan as Venom in the comics was the Dark Avengers arc where Osborn would constantly gaslight Gargan and tell him that the voice he was hearing was just a hallucination, but he'd punish Gargan for screwing up by locking him in a pitch black cell so the symbiote could torment and humiliate him for whining about how unpleasant being Venom was. "I feel cold" "I can't feel my heartbeat" "I didn't mean to eat that guy"

Sinister Spider-Man is a mini series showing Mac Gargan Venom masquerading as Spider-Man, he gets positive media attention and is a super star of sorts. He uses his fame to acquire lots of random women throughout the series. "Grab an ass or three, stick your tongue down a girl's throat" - one of his quotes from it
Seeing this makes me wonder if the Venom we'll see in Insomniac's upcoming Venom game will be Gargan? I know, I know, he's dead, but since when has a comic book character stayed dead?
Comic book characters only get ressurected in the comics, they mostly stay dead in other adaptations, so yes insomniac mac is dead for good

It's because there are lots of playable characters, so having every character voice an interaction would've been too much. It's easier if only the NPC has spoken dialogue during these parts.
The fact that there isn’t dialogue for Spider-Man here is pretty disappointing. Considering how in the previous game if 2 characters had history there would be actual spoken dialogue for them and not just awkward text speech
Yeah, I agree. And it's not like they couldn't voice them in conversations like these because in a select few conversations the character you're playing as is voiced.
Ultimate Alliance 2 was a noticeable downgrade in quality from it’s predecessor. Quite a shame considering it chronicles one of the greatest comic book events in history. Loved the dialogue in the first game.
I love that they actually took into account what was happening in the comics at the time. This game rocked.

It’s weird to me that gargan is just casually calling Spidey Parker, like obviously it’s cause the suit told him but I think it’s weird the suit decided to share that information with gargan cause I don’t think it ever did in the comics
I hated literally anyone except Eddie being venom and pretty well ignored all comics staring venom without Eddie, however if I recall Gargan used a lot of tech and things like that to keep the symbiote in control rather than just bonding with it like normal

When Spidey first joined Iron-Man's side in Civil War he had to first announce his identity to the world as part of the super-hero registration act. Gargan (A.K.A Scorpion who has the Symbiote in this video) knew about it from there, as did everyone else including Kingpin, to the disfortune of Aunt May.
I thought Eddie and the symbiote bonded made venom cause of their hatred of spider-man if the symbiote is bonded to someone else it’s not venom

I still got a old ps4 though. Can I just ebay the disc for ultimate alliance 2/3? I didn't think it worked on ps4

This game is such an interesting time capsule of what the current status quo was for the Marvel Universe at the time, I love it.

@@Hyena-t4rIt was still the symbiote, but changed back into the Black Suit. This game is based on the Secret War comic and Civil War comic. In the Civil War comic Venom is Mac Gargan, which is the obvious reason why he looks that way, plus the voice. However in this game he has a alternate outfit which makes him look like the Edward Brock Venom.
