I Broke A Pay To Win Roblox Game
Here's how I built a bot to earn hundreds of millions of in-game cash an hour on a pay-to-win Roblox game. This was really fun to do and I'm planning on making more project-based videos in the future. If you enjoyed watching I'd really appreciate a subscription.

Skipping The Tutorial
มุมมอง 782หลายเดือนก่อน
Tutorials suck... But why? I wanted to take a closer look at different onboarding techniques and see why some seem to be completely ineffective. Why do people always skip tutorials? and how can we build better applications that teach users things in an organic fashion. In this video we look at different onboarding types and go through some examples of times where it's been done well. Thank you ...

Bad Code Is Good
มุมมอง 9Kหลายเดือนก่อน
As I've hired more engineers I've noticed that many especially more senior engineers struggle to write code that's "bad". The point of this video is that sometimes writing hacky code is not just necessary but the actual best solution for the problem a developer or company is faced with. I took kinda a new editing direction with this. I hope you like it :)
The Algorithm That Saved The World

One of the first true "Computer" algorithms was cracking the enigma code. In 1939 Alan Turing designed the bombe machine. The goal of the machine was to crack the enigma code. In this video I dive into how the bombe worked and the impact it had on the war and world. Turing is often looked at as the father of computer science. His work has impacted my life in ways that are hard to describe. My h...

That's not really true. There are a few key points you are missing. First, the game generates revenue from more than just the VIP pass; there are also other in-game purchases available, such as custom makeup, luxury dresses, and various accessories. Also roblox exchanges gives 70% to the developer after a purchase, not 30%. 30% is what is taken. Additionally, developers earn money through premium payouts, which they receive based on the time premium members spend in the game. In fact, a significant portion of the revenue likely comes from these premium payouts. I'd say the majority of their income is from that. I'm guessing you saw a reddit post saying that after all the cuts are made from the play stores and stuff like that roblox devs see ~40%. That's just raw USD revenue and doesnt apply to in-game transactions with robux. Moreover, when calculating the actual earnings, it's important to remember that Robux earned by developers are converted at a rate of 0.0035 USD per Robux due to the Developer Exchange (DevEx) program, where 350 Robux equals 1 USD. This conversion rate means that the amount in Robux needs to be multiplied by 0.0035 to determine the actual revenue in USD. Meaning 7m Robux would be around 25k USD a month just for that ONE PASS. I'm estimating DTI makes around 60m-100m a year. since data from last year assumes the top 10 earners on roblox make more than 30m a year. (this being the top game, it's safe to assume their developers are within that threshold)

As I've evolved my programming skills, I have noticed that the more organized I develop my systems, the easier it is for mantaining them. The only situation where "bad code" was a proper choice, was in situations where the codebase was already bad and I had to make some weird hacks to deliver a feature. In the end, a bad code is just... bad. There is a minimum quality threshold that you need to achieve, simple stuff, that's enough. You don't need to make a masterpiece, just don't commit any programming crimes..

also things are in cents because the simplest version of storing things in dollars would be to use float types, which can (deceptivly to beginners) produce incorrect results when you try to do calculations with them, due to the imprecision of the float type

To everybody commenting, "Worst timing, lol!" The target audience for this video obviously isn't people writing kernel-level security software that powers half the internet. It's for the 15 person agency that will get 3 chat requests per day, that will never scale to need millions of concurrent requests, and if they do, that's a very good problem for them to have (and at that point they can throw money and developers at the problem).
