Cold start procedure on a 1952 Indian Chiewf motorcycle. This classic motorcycle has sat dormant for 3 or 4 years ands is ready again for the road. legendary builder, restorer, and mechanic Johnny Eagles just finished tuning the bike including boiling the carb and re-timing the points and installing new Champion Plugs "nobody would use NGK's in a real Indian"! Nice, but my 68 was as nice if not better. Not a point of brag, but fact. . Mine wasn't "rescued" from the original owner, a German tourist . I bought it from him in Reno Nevada in 1980 after his tour of Canada and the US. Original leather Denfeld bags. More factory chrome goodies such as the headlamp guard and taillight guard. Whisker mirrors off the headlamp, crash guards etc. A flawless machine which did not have to be taken apart. I sold mine to a collector in San Francisco and bought a mint 1969 R69US. I also had a 1965 R69S "daily driver". I sold it to a guy who rode it to Texas where he restored it. I have owned a total of 15 BMW bikes. My favorite(s) R60/5 and my 1986 Paris Dakar. Don't be so quick to dismiss other people who may have similar experiences who are not "flippers".

Absolutely beautiful and sounds perfect! I m old school,born 6 years after this bike so I know how they’re supposed to sound and this one started like it was new. I rode a lot of old bikes and even built a few from boxes in my late twenties to early thirties.

How can you leave tires from the 60's on it. It's a safety issue. They must be hard as stone by now. They will have no grip anymore.

That large tank is of course original but no r69s came equipped with it from the factory, it was some r60´s that had those tanks, at an extra cost of course. Beatiful bike.

Cold engine and solid lifters, that is actually normal. It has probably sounded like that since about 1952.
