Huge fan of Daryl Hall and John Oates since 1981. This channel will be a collection of DH & JO videos from old VHS tapes I have, other goodies, videos that might have been on YT in the past that I’ve saved and been able to re-upload, and videos that I created. Follow me on Instagram and see all sorts of info, pics, and memorabilia (some rare) from my collection. Enjoy!

Daryl Hall in the Arif Mardin Documentary

Arif Mardin passed away on June 25, 2006, the day before Daryl was scheduled to record his vocals on “All My Friends Are Here”, which was on the album of the same name and celebrated Mr. Mardin’s work. The family felt he would have wanted the recording to continue, so they didn’t postpone it. The Greatest Ears in Town: The Arif Mardin Stiry, is a 2010 documentary about the legendary music produ...

So fun!
Thanks for the upload. I saw them on this tour, the 6th March 1984 in Brighton; good memories.
absolutely amazing!
❤️ had a crush since I was 8, I’m 51 lol. Going to the show in St Augustine Thursday ❤️
@@renarettinger8523 Same, had it since I was 10 and I’m 53. You’ll have fun, it’s a great show!!
Dengerous 😂😂😂❤❤❤
They are both great musicians, but together they were even more great. It's a tragedy that doesn't go together.
great talent there is no doubt but I miss John Oates!
Daryl only singer white dude allowed to be black alright alright alright alright h&o badass tunes
Not to sound like an old man (which I am, BTW 😂) but I recorded this segment on an audio cassette before the days of VCRS and whatnot. Great to see the actual video again. Awesome post! 👍🏾
@@poppopw5305 Oh stop, you’re not old! 😆
He mainly caters towards female fans. My daughter is listening in the background, and she just noticed the same thing. "Why is it all women", she asked?
I notice there's no men yet, all women callers. If this had been the Doobie Brothers, it would probably be a balance of both.
LOVE DARYLS VOICE!! His mom as a voice coach taught him very well. ❤❤❤❤ and uh.... yeah the 80s hair thing??? Classic! 😊😅😂!
I think I know what the 3 hearts stand for; Daryl, Sara, andJanna. And, Daryl is being the man who supplies the happy ending!
Love that bass-forward recording!
I saw them 8days before this interview
I saw them a month before. Worse ice storm Connecticut had ever seen that night but somehow everyone made it to the Coliseum.
Thank you for this. I never saw this video but I didn't have MTV back then
Thanks.
Great interview! Love Daryl Hall! I'm a Diehard fan x 40 years!!!!!
@@svavacushing7748 I know you! It’s me, Stacey. This is my channel. 🙂
@@biggerthanbothofusfan oh yeah!!!!! That's right!!!!!
Funny, the version on my tape includes "Your Imagination" and Rich Girl but not some of these others.
@@danmist I love “Your Imagination” from that night! Put both tapes together and you have most of the show.
Since Daryl didnt weigh that much then, the wine probly hit him quick
When I was a kid, and I heard Daryl say that part, about " you know its wrong to take what is given you", I actually felt guilty, my young, impressionable mind. But now, as an adult, I know better. Yes, feel free, take what is given unto you, because that is a gift, freely given.
So Daryl has been affecting me longer than I realized! Also, I'm glad I watched this because I'm learning things.
Perfect and great vocals.
💕💕💕💕
now they have a ton of space..
Thank you so much for posting this ! This performance was my first exposure to this song and I liked it immediately. I bought the CD and this song has been a favorite of mine since.
Ge always does an amazing job on guitar
Love this man soo much!!!!!
The most unlikely rock stars of all time
Why?
I wonder if Prince was there..
Watching Daryl Hall sing is always an amazing experience...love his music! May God bless him, always!
just to think after this interview, hall & oates pretty much were done making new good music.
Thanks for posting this rarity
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I have this on vhs - I think after the commercial break, Letterman quipped that Daryl looked like Thomas Jefferson, which was kinda silly but funny lol
So amazing! What a band... Glad I saw them but wish I could have seen them in the 70's and 80's
Daryl hace mas de cuatro decadas q me enamore mal de vos YLOVE YOU FOREVER cariño DIOS BENDIGA TU VIDA ❤❤❤❤❤
Daryl is pure class. John looks like a porn star.
NICE SONG.
H&O are at their best harmonizing on When Something is Wrong with my Baby.
Would love to see this whole concert.
@@SuperVodkaChick That’s all there is for this one, it was just several songs on a TV show
Man, this video is blurry, and I already have blurry vision. Even my daughter looked at this, and her vision is good, and she said it's blurry too. She tried to adjust the resolution, but it only goes to 360p. But hearing them sing this, I now vaguely remember this song from way back, many years ago, my childhood.
@@youtubefan754 Yes, it’s blurry. The original tape from 1976 would need to be cleaned up.
I am a real fan of HallI and Oates ❤❤❤ Daryl sounds fabulous on this show 💕Thank you for sharing🎉 Love GE’s 🎸solos T bone🎭 Best band ever 💫
DIOS LOS BENDIGA Y SE VUELBAN A UNIR
Saw them live from 1980 to 1985 and 89 to the mid 90's. Their writing & live performances just kept getting better & better.
Robbie McIntosh did the solo for the album version but G.E. tops it.
I remember Martha Quinn! I used to see her alot on MTV in the early '80's! And I really like how she is very polite and attentive to John Oates, as well as Daryl. It's good to see John having a turn to shine, and be allowed to be himself as a man. Daryl is the pretty boy, always getting the center of attention, and I must admit, I am weak to him myself, but it looks good for there to be BALANCE, like the interaction going on here between Martha and John. Who knows, maybe Martha was like many white chicks back then, who were more attracted to dark men, Hispanic or Italian, or Indian? My daughter is not into white men, unless they are foreign, or gay. And since John was finally allowed to be himself, I noticed the strong Aries side coming out in him! Haha. And lastly, I do notice and like it how the guys were still working together, or they appeared to be. Personally, I feel like even if Daryl had changed and evolved in a different direction than John, that they still should have parted as friends, no hard feelings. ***** Daryl has many beautiful highly meaningful songs since they've been apart, and that is what hooked me into this!! It's TOO EASY to want to believe the words in his songs, and he is definitely a charmer!

Absolutely one of the top ten writer/artists our loving Lord God has ever given us…more likely in the top five!!! Daryl’s own hard work is his constant…thank you sir!
I've watched this documentary at least 4 times just because it's so entertaining. I love seeing these more intimate looks into Hall, Oates, and the rest of the band members' lives on tour. The part where G.E. is singing in the street and then immediately cuts to Charlie playing his saxophone especially cracks me up. Thank you for uploading this. (:
