Episode 331 - Riggio Tango
The Pacific NW is proud to call itself home to some amazing makers of guitars, pickups, effects and more - they grow well in the rain up here. For 30 years Joe Riggio has crafted guitars of singular distinction. And for those in the know, his refinish work is impeccable. We’ve seen guitars that Joe has brought back to life, and we are amazed every time. We got a hold of a Tango in black, and enjoyed the hell out of it. Hope you do, too!

Иисус-Навальный...
Great breakdown! I've come across his work on Google searches but had no idea he worked with so many musicians.
Lou Reed of "Walk in the wild side"? you know "Hey baaabe talk a walk on the wild side I say hey honey take a walk on the wild side... and the 'C' girls go Do Do DO Do DO DO DO Do"
Andy Kerr is an amazing musician.
great conversation! can't wait for Manchester.
Go away Junkie Lohan.
BEST DRUMMER OF ALL TIME -GOAT- you are the greatest drummer ever- I mean that- thank you for your work… SK isn’t the same without you, you were the glue that kept that shit together- hardest working artist in music- effin best music ever created, THANK YOU SOOOO GDAMN MUCH JANET!
I have one of these 1438 silvertones. Picked it up in a pawn shop in Texas about 18 years ago.
Like.... lou reed as in...lou reed??
Yes, Lou Reed as in Lou Reed. Read "The Art of the Straight Line: My Tai Chi"
Hey thanks for playing an example of the guitar players music so we can relate
Whhhaaat....no...not Lou Reed.
😢
“It made me care about little else” … I Understand.Ya make yer bed and then ya lay in It.i’m layin’ in mine.
grokking those resonances aaaaaauuuuummmmmm ❤️☮️
The doctor has the cure for what ails me, a debilitating lack of tone. Exciting times
Biggest hack ever, and from a legit source someone who didn't give two sh!ts about anyone else but his self was Lou Reed.
RUINOUS MEDIA, amazing video keep it up dude
Beautiful guitar, classic John 5 MM era, only Bigsby version tops it
🌎🤘👺
Great analogy...
Got to see the Melvins and Redd Kross together. Dale pounded the shit out of those drums for BOTH bands and sang backup perfectly. Phenomenal musician.
Two of the 🐐s. Thank you both so much for doing this. Always looking for recent interviews to make sure y’all are good. Very inspiring and insightful conversation. See yall in November in Orlando!
I played a korean squire strat that i got for free from a buddy for yeaaars then found a tele that initially felt perfect but i find myself doing bends and putting tension in ways that just don't work the same as the strat did. Its all about the instrument being an extension of yourself, not the value.
I had to watch n learn the hard way for years watching live shows and videos 😆
everything he does is great but chris cohen is a very underrated drummer, lovely style of playing
Outstanding material here, the author's feedback is very engaging. As a hardcore Lou fan, I'm deeply moved.
Lou Reed, you are The Man and You Always took that,"Walk on the Wild Side"!
I make mh balls hurt
U at the doorbell
U ate my fater
U ain’t my father
Had the opportunity to see Chokebore in Phoenix, AZ when Mike first signed on. Was a fan of Chokebore since I saw them open for Nirvana at a show in Spokane, WA in 1994. The show in Phoenix was like a private show, my friends and I were the only ones who knew who Chokebore was. Spoke to them after and Troy was nice enough to sign my shirt. Have followed Troy since, love his solo work. Glad to see he is well.
I mean. This video didn't hook me at all. You sound pretty bland, and the music geeze. But hey, I'll check it out anyway!
Seen him play for built to spill at first avenue in Minneapolis and he was AMAZING!
interested in the hallmark buckaroo thats similar to this. Awesome guitars.
I was at the show in NYC in 99 lol.
Geordie Walker was one of the greatest and most inspiring guitarists of my lifetime. May he rest in peace.
What a lovely person, great interview. I was hoping you'd ask if he had another solo record in the works. His solo lp is great. And regarding Gwar, was that the 'Violence' era that you played in? Personally I think that is their best album, hands down perfect crossover punk thrash! For some reason they stopped that style and I lost interest in the later albums. And on a side note I absolutely love Armstrong. PS I miss Hagfish.
Wtf.. is this short complete?
I'm so enthused by the DOZENS of advertisments after I sat through a TON of your shit to listen just because you had Janet's phone number!) I'm (to be honest, i'm pissed off!) I want you Janet. I want you in my band. Guitalele Oeuvre no big deal ( rock and roll in Tennessee!) POST COVID
The Lou Reed? Cuz uhhh I don't so
Nothing from New York? Missed opportunity….
Awesome, thank you! I love hearing about the origins of LB. So many lucky coincidences
Thank you for posting this.
Great podcast, enjoyed listening to the chat. As well as the field recordings which Dorian (Holder) mentioned, he's also a very good bass player, and I am proud to have a D.Holder Guitar in my own guitar collection.
💔 I love his music. Such a loss! I’d love about 9 more of these episodes. Love to hear stories from other musicians who’ve worked with him.
Brett is a guitar genus. I wish him well❤
My dude is if ADHD is a person🤣
I want one so bad omg😭😭😭
What an absolutely lovely guy Andy is, thanks for doing this, I have the fondest memories of seeing NoMeansNo play back in 91 with Andy, also, nice to hear a little excitement for Voivod who I saw in 89, 2 very different but truly unforgettable gigs.
Justin my custom Steed is the best! Hope you didn't stress out too much makin' it. 🤩 This yellow n red one reminds me of an 80s BMX.
