Believe it or not, I've done almost the same thing when I was in a big hurry, except that my keys weren't locked in my car. The car door was left unlocked..but in my great haste to park my car and catch the shuttle bus to take me to class at Texas Tech, my keys were left in the ignition switch and the car was left still running, and the doors were unlocked when I returned to the car several hours later. The good news is that no one stole my car, even though they could have, and my faith in my fellow students was rewarded! I love songs based on true stories like this one and I can relate to what she went through! She was simply trying to show up on time, "at any cost"!
