So cute i had a standatd poodle but she was the smallest in the liter. I had her for 14 + 1/2 yrs. I miss her so bad every day. She was my Soul Dog Heart Dog. Named Gia"
I totally understand that! My Toby was 13.5 when he passed. I miss him so SO much! I will be getting a puppy from this litter, but luckily none of them look like my sweet baby boy. I don't want to feel like I'm trying to replace him, you know?
Sounds like you gave her a wonderful long life! It's so incredibly what dogs bring to our lives and so hard to see them go. It never gets any easier but the love is worth it. ❤️

At 4 weeks old I see them drinking milk from a bowl. So where’s the mom?
Mom has just started to wean them. This process will take up to 2 weeks.
@@chattahoocheekennels finishing the weaning process at six weeks old seems quite early. And if they are being weaned from (their mom’s) milk - which is what weaning is about, right? - why are you feeding them milk from a bowl? To me weaning is about gradually giving the puppies less milk and more solid food from 4 to 8 weeks of age, until they’re fully off milk and on solid food. So if they’re fully weaned at six weeks, is that the age they leave for their new owners?
I believe 6 weeks is too young for a puppy to go to a new home. Research shows that a puppy learns bite inhibition (among other things) in the 7-week time frame. They really benefit from being around siblings/other dogs. I also wait to do temperament testing until after the 7 week mark, then we line up the temperaments with the families.
So adorable. What is this small size considered? Estimated weight?
My small sized are between 23 and 38 lbs. The biggest pups end up being on the high end and the smaller ones on the small end in this litter I have 1 pup that will definitely be close to 38 lbs.
