Heinrich Schiff, such a wonderful cellist he was. I'm so happy to have his CD set of the Bach suites, signed by him in April of year 2000 at a concert when he collected his newly produced cello. He even made me a drawing of a ship ("Schiff")!

Fantastic. Schiff is incredible. Probably the best interpretation I heard of this pieces.

I'm amazed by Schiff's mastery of the instrument. His bowings are not easy at all to play... too many notes on one bow! The pianist is extraordinary, too. Wow!

Schiff the best

WOW! They must be good to play so fast! Music is an art, and art, of course, is essentially indistinguishable from athletic competition. Playing fast is the mark of the true artist. I hate those stupid people who think they ought to be able to distinguish each little note. If they are played cleanly then faster is obviously better. I am also bothered by the fact that we don't have woodwind playing in the olympics yet. All music is a series of etudes!!

This is is simply an uncomparrable interpretation. He has the salt, the pepper, sugar and honey. Not just the boring charminess like some of the younger generation tend to focus on. R.I.P. maestro

As a cellist, I appreciated some of the close-ups of the hands to see the bow hold and finger placements.
