Bullspit!
Fantastic. Especially 'Dance Little Angel Dance' (D Bowie theme, I know)
Love.
What a load off miserable twats that audience
I'm glad they outgrew this phase. Their newer stuff is soooooo much better! (Although there are a handful of lovely ballads from this era that are worth being re-released)
35 years later and he's still doing concerts
❤❤❤
I love this song so much. Thank you for that video. Hugs.
❤❤❤
❤❤❤
One of my favourite songs ever.
This must be the only song to glorify the great Bridget St John? It's a fine song and Hamish is a massive talent.
A proper fucking band.
Utter tripe. Same old shit sound every new album. No tune, no hook, no melody. When Mick MacNeil left, this once great band died a slow death.
Tremendous artist
YES.
Thanks
Oh myyy! Catherine Deneuve AND Simple Minds? This is quite the treat.
I hate to say this but in 2024 they sound like a karaoke band. In the early eighties they were untouchable. What a shame.

Lost interest in them at Street fighting Years.
THANK YOU FOR THISSS 💞💞
Shame mick walked out on them mid tour, loads of cancelled concerts followed.
This was the beginning of the end for Simple Minds being a big band.
Compared to the Sparkle In The Rain tour and Once Upon A Time this tour was disappointing.
Jim Kerrs and Simple Minds downfall in musical creativity during the 80's obviously went hand in hand with a degrade in style. 5 years previous to this interview Simple Minds were an extraordinary band and Jim a style icon. But with mainstream and bland adaption musically a lazy mullet on Jim fits right in!
Saw them on this tour at the Astoria London. Opened with Sleeping girl.
I watched something on telly once , I can't find it online anywhere and ive looked. Anyway, Basically it was Noel calling everyone shite. Bowie was one and Bono was definitely one also. That's why I have little respect for hypocrite Noel.
LOVE THAT CLOSEUP OF MEL❤❤❤
This is in 2005??
Mega gut 👍🎉
Top
Roundhay Park was fantastic
Holy shit that was great! Nothing crusty about them boys! That was nothing less than spectacular!
It was 19yrs ago
@@stephenmcculloch7192And they are still banging it out today!
What a low energy, lackluster crowd! Those athletes look bored and lifeless! Shame on them! A great band, playing to a bunch of self important narcissists.
Still to this day; September 9, 2023, my favorite songs of theirs is: “Alive and kicking” and “Don’t you, forget about me.”
If this song was recorded by Simple Minds circa 1982 with original members and Jim Singing like back then it would be an amazing song...with this Simple Minds its just good 👍
Nice BUT - Imagine this with Derek's throbbing Precision and Michael on his Jupiter - Man the memories are still with me. They will remain etched in my soul forever. Going backwards Thirty Frames a Second.
I agree that the classic lineup with Derek and Mick was the best. But all fairness to the musicians who followed, they've generally been capable of holding their own. I've seen this particular line-up, with Eddie Duffy and Andy Gillespie, live on a few occasions in the UK and Europe and they're talented musicians in their own right.
@@dhevingovender5414 Talented - I agree but don’t compare to the original line up and never will. Saw SM live a few times in the early day’s - cold shiver down my spine even thinking about their raw energy. Derek inspired me to buy my first bass at 17 - learning those early bass line’s that still give me a rush today age 61 when I play them. Mick with his Jupiter 4 and little Korg. His JP4 was so trick too. Owned one myself for a few year’s. Derek and his pbass - omg Even today I get a rush listening to those roundwounds biting into those fret’s. Recall standing few feet away from the stage in Manchester Hacienda one night - early 80’s Think gig is on YT. Brilliant memories I treasure to this day. What a band
Where is the video?!
Nicest guys in the punk scene.. and such a good band live
Many thanks for recording this and posting it :). Our own footage from the gig was rubbish and your is much better, so we'll share it on our social media. So glad you enjoyed the gig.
You’re very welcome and thank you for a fabulous gig. 😊💕
Do you have any more live videos of Ian Moss? Nullarbor plains?
Sorry, I don’t have anything else other then a part of a jam that I also posted on my channel. I didn’t take any other footage. I usually only record one song at a gig.
Jealous. Bet it was a great gig
It was awesome. 😊👍🏻
Wow that's brilliant thank you
Thanks for posting this. Have to admit, and knowing how marriage w/ Chrissie ends, sounds like Jim wants to avoid Chrissie and baby Yasmin. He almost sounds hopeful when he says, "[Yasmin] will be married [out of the house!] by the time I get back." lol. Would he use marriage as the adult milestone if he were talking about a son? Maybe, but I don't think so. I can see inspiration for song "Chill Factor".
He was also father to Chrissie’s older daughter. Not sure what the relationship is like now but he was the only man who stepped up to be her dad when she was a baby. That is a massive gesture for a man of 25 to take on someone else’s kid.
Ian moss, our fav best blues guy in Au, sounds good here,
Lovely. Thanks for posting.
