Fishing Vancouver Island | Campbell River
I was able to go out with my friends Teddy Cosco aka Cast & Iron castandiron along with local guide Justin from Sea Beyond Adventures seabeyond.ca/ to hit up the local river and lakes for late fall chum and cut throat trout on the fly. It was a rainy affair but we got into some fish and had some great food.

30 Minute Photo Walk Challenge | Insta 360 X4

I decided to take the @insta360 X4 for a real life spin around the ol' beach to see how it would fair as a vlogging camera, and the verdict is in.... I LOVE IT! It's going to be my go to camera for vlogging. I've decided that I need to change a few things about how I shoot with it (up coming video) and also just bought the mic adapter attachment for it for better sound, but I learned a lot and ...

I wanted to get a NAS storage system that had RAID 5, but also something that I could edit photo and video on. That is why I chose the QNAP TVS-HX74T NAS with Thunderbolt 4 for Mac. It's the solution that ticks all the boxes for me, storage, redundancy and editing capabilities with it's expandable SSD M.2 slots and 64GB of ram! Thank you for sharing the best. Vlog about. Fishing atmosphere in Vancouver Island. Really great. Good content. I wish you success and good luck 🙏 Great post as usual. I liked it and watched it until the end.

Well done 👍🏻
Thank you! Have you ever seen a black bear fishing?

@@justinraine thanks! Now to learn how to properly use it haha
Perfect combo but super heavy! Ain't good for travel photographer specially on walking & hiking.
I used it exclusively this trip to Uganda for travel. Its been amazing
Thank you :)
The warmer edit of the photos look awesome! My two favorites are 2:43 and 1:24
Thanks so much!
Hi, please what was the tripod used in the first setuup 0:12?
It’s the 635 Fast With Carbon Fibre legs
Did you have to get any special permits or anything to film? I'm planning on going with my camera, gimbal and potentially drone. It's not a whole film crew, just me and my Subject. Thank you!!
You do need a permission letter if you have professional gear and drones are not permitted in Rwanda. You need a drone license and he a Rwandan (or know one who can apply for you) and after many attempts it’s never happened.
it is a stretch calling a black bear an apex predator
Hahah! Are they top of food chain and does anything else hunt them (other than humans) … definition of Apex ;)
Great tutorial, Geoff! The Neewer Wall Mounted Backdrop Holder looks like a game-changer for studio setups. Quick question: what size of Savage backdrop paper did you use in this video? It seems perfect! Thanks for the awesome content
8ft rolls
Great footage, thanks for sharing.
Do your rolls start sagging without a metal pole inside of the cardboard roll ?
They haven't yet/. These are only the 8' rolls so I think it will be okay. If they were the 12' that would be different
Can they be put inside a matte box
Depending on the matte box. If it has a stretchy cloth lens cover for sure.
You lucky bum!!! Awesome video. They sure are something else, aren’t they? Magic beings if you ask me.🐋💌🐋
For sure!
This is my landscape trinity, I love it. But I do swap out the 15-35 with the 10-20 depending on my needs. I am taking this trio to Antarctica. It has me cover for anything I can come across. Great video keep up the good work.
DOPE!!! This sequence is on 🔥🔥🔥
I have a og push/pull zoom from 08- feed this thing light and it delivers gorgeous bokeh- it's construction reminds me of a car transmission! Crazy cool seeing one completely disassembled! Definitely not a diy job imo im sending mine to canon 😢
How long is the walk in? Is it easy? I have mobility issues and use a cane. I did San Josef with MS in 2018 but I was in better shape then. So badly want to go here since San Josef is a big no now
It's about a 10 min walk
@@geoffheith Amazing. Thanks! Totally doable

You’re too cute. This helped me not murder someone as those directions were awful in the box! Cheers!
Youre welcome haha
Yeah, you made that look way too easy! Fantastic video. Wish you could come and install mine :-) Your lighting is awesome too!
Thanks!

Wow
NOT OLD rUSSAN LENCES!!! THOSE LENCES MADE IN USSR!
Few things you missed and for people to note… 1st make sure the threads are 100% clean of any dirt or debris before you start. ALWAYS add a small amount of grease to the part of the thread you’re working on AND the same section opposite of the bend where the other part of the tool will be. This will help guide the tool and reduce friction. DO NOT turn the tool around the threads as was done in this video! That’s not how this tool is used! This tool is only used in the section you’re working on. Also DO NOT start directly at the center of the bend. The goal is to massage the metal slowly. 1) line up the tool in the thread right BESIDE the part your working on. Ensure the tool in in the threads and loose the tool just enough to turn it slightly into the bent. DO NOT try to force it over the entire bend. 2) once your slightly on the start of the bend, expand the tool slightly. 3) repeat the same steps on the other side of the bend. Keep alternating until you get to the center of the bend. The goal it to slowly work the outside of the bend inwards. You shouldn’t be moving the tool around or touching any other part of the threads. If the bend is very deep, you can use a thick piece of rubber. material between the tool to bend it out to a manageable position then follow the above steps. And remember- if for some reason you cross the threads, it’s an easy fix when it was just in one section. It’s a totally different issue when messed up all the threads.
Why the video title is 25 instead of 24mm
Cause I’m and idiot hahhah. Thanks for catching that hahha. You know when you read something and you know what it says and your brain just fixes the error. Thank you.
But how can it be turned off? Is there some kind of mechanical lock?
Some lenses have a switch to turn it off
most lenses should have a switch to turn it off. also, from my experience, the image is always slightly sharper when turned off, and the lens element is locked off.
Great video Geoff I have one cuestion, I see that you dont use metal pipes insde the paper roll, ¿this could not damage the paper roll?
The metal pipe people usual put in is so the paper doesn't sag in the middle but these aren't the long roll so I chose not to do it.
@@geoffheith Hey I am installing something similar and I wanted to ask if you have any updates if the roll held up or if it sagged after a while.
Been using this for 4 days now. It is small enough in my pocket that I use it more regularly than my phone camera. And because I love how wide angles give new looks and styles. I'm not a photographer. But it's very easy to use for a dummy like me to use it as a basis every day to show off on social media😁
Thats awesome to hear! I can't wait to give it a good run!
dang 35k views thats some pretty good money
Beautiful! Thank you Brother <3
Man.. it has been a dream of mine to look for sea wolves in Vancouver island.. Do you know if anyone is doing tours or how to do this?
I don't know of tours that specifically target seeing wolves but a lot of whale watching guides take rips around islands to have a look to see if you can see them '
@@geoffheith thank you!
Amazing video.. but so many options... I have a RF 15-35 2.8, RF 100-500 F4 and was going to get the RF 70-200 2.8 as I am hoping to go on different safaris the next few years but now I wonder if I should get this lens instead as it would cover me from 24-105 and I can use my 100-500 F4 after ( although not at 2.8 ). Any thoughts to help make a decision? I mainly do wildlife photography ( I am fairly new at it obviously )..
Thats the set up I have right now exactly 15-35, 24-105 and the 100-500. That literally covers allllllll my bases. get a 1.4x extender on top of that and youre laughing. Im gonna do a follow up video to this with those lenses.
@@geoffheith thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it
@@Jeje-rb1vu my pleasure man best of luck!
@@geoffheith Thank you. I think I will be well covered for my trips to Africa with the 15-35mn for some amazing landscape, the 24-104 f.28 for anything close to the vehicle and the 100-500 ( with possibly the 1.4 extender ) for anything beyond.
RF 100-500 F4?! Now that would be a dream lens if only it existed 😂
