Как вы используете BindingAdapter-ры вместе с Kotlin? Банальная конвертация java static в kotlin плодит множество ошибок компилятора, но про java забыть хочется :)

У нас практически нету статических адаптеров. Все методы адаптеры (не статические) описаны в специальных классах и собираются в общий DataBindingComponent который далее подключается к проекту через DataBindingUtil.setDefaultComponent. Про это я уже не стал рассказывать, так как презентация и так затянулась.
Если все же крайне необходимо использовать статические адаптеры, то в котлине их можно просто декларировать вне класса безо всяких @JvmStatic аннотаций. Как пример: pastebin.com/ikHgAeXx
В пояснение, если статические адаптеры распиханы по всему приложению, то могут возникнуть проблемы если сигнатуры двух адаптеров совпадают. Так как адаптеры статические, и по сути не имеют определенного контекста выполнения, то при процессе аннотаций такие адаптеры не будут корректно обработаны.
Подробнее и с примерами DataBindingComponent (у нас он ко всему прочему собирается через Dagger 2) могу рассказать в скайпе или слеке )
