Know the bowline. It's great for attaching guy lines, but also in cases where you may need to either rescue or be rescued. It is easy to tie and does not slip.

Hiking Better? Try these Hiking Sticks: Cascade Mountain #hiking #backpacking @reneeandtim #hike
มุมมอง 49หลายเดือนก่อน
Hiking sticks or trekking poles can make your walk a lot more enjoyable and comfortable. Try out a pair. Given we grew up hiking with wooden poles and limbs, it took a bit to try these out. Once we did, we've found them to help with balance, load carrying, and back strain. A pair like this is inexpensive and worth the investment to try them out. Like all camping gear, you can get a full range o...

I see they have another model the chinch version with a slightly different locking mechanic and thicker feet, have you seen that?
That ain't a bad looking chair! What's the price tag on it??
Depends on how you buy it. $40 is in the ballpark on Amazon. They do combos with a small table, as well. It'd be perfect for kayaking trips like yours on Lake James. Let us know what you think.
@@uwharrieoutdoorresources I'll check it out. Lake James State Park was amazing, that view paddling the lake looking at hawksbill and table rock was second to none!
@@12STONESADVENTURES awesome.
How’s this holding up?
Do NOT forget to wash your ax afterwards!
Very true.
They work well.
I use the MSR Groundhogs. Properly used I've had them in up to 40 mph winds and never lost a guyline thus far.
Chairs have come along way over the past 10 years.
Why does this pack make Me feel claustrophobic?
Maybe it is not the one for the purpose you have for it. I love it. It has a lot of organization for work and day hikes. It has easy access and flexibiity.
I subscribed to your channel, number 49!
Thanks a bunch! We'd love it if you share.
Im looking into this spot so I can do a weekend get away here soon. Thank you again for sharing.
Let us know. There are tons of great spots in NC.
Ive been wanting to look for a spot near Badin Lake to camp. Thank you for sharing.
Any time!
I go on a deer hunting trip to the Uwharri every Nov. I absolutely love that place.
It is like a second home to us.
Sounds like ill be catching up on some of your videos.
And us, yours. You have good content.
Personally I would only use branches off the ground. Let me explain. As something you bought you may have a momentary pause before sacrificing them for your safety. It seems nuanced but as a Sar member I've witnessed several situations where folks didn't use the pole as it was a value, sticks don't have that small pause. 99 percent of the time this is ridiculous but that moment when throwing the sticks to regain balance you will be glad you used a stick and not 200 poles.
That makes sense. We all have our preferences. Thanks.
Thanks for the refresher
You are most definitely welcome.
Hey man this is Darrell that spoke to you at lexington health care. Just checking in to see how you were doing and to see how you're mother was doing...
Hi, Darrell! Sorry for the delay. Life is good. Mom's getting better. I hope you, your mom,, an brother are doing well.
I love the solar stuff, but they are usually so expensive. I've got a RAV Power 27,500 that I take on all my trips and it's charged my phone, my son's phone, multiple go pro batteries, and drone batteries all for a couple days... So far as long as it's fully charged it's served me well. Stay safe out there and God bless!
That is a great sized unit you have. It is all relative, and getting cheaper. I like the power capacity, and use a CPAP. That unit you have wouldn't last me a night car camping with the CPAP. It is a little tricky to covert MilliAmpHours to Watt Hours. The CPAPs can use up to 100 Watts an Hour. Obviously, the CPAP doesn't go on hikes. -Jeff
I've got to where I'll use the smart water 750 ml bottles and the Sawyer mini system. If you know what your doing you can even use these as a gravity system. 👍
The Frontier Pro is the same. I've (Jeff) been solo camping/backpacking and just took a water or soda bottle and the filter. I always make sure the filter fits the bottle top though.
Not seeing it first-hand I'd say those rocks are old house footings. You'll see a lot of these throughout Uwharrie and especially Birkhead.
Thanks. They are in piles the size of a small car. they could have had something to do with mining. On the opposite side of the hill, there was a hydraulic gold mine. Someone knows. They may have been part of a way to get water over the hill.
There are literally tons of options on the market for water filter and purification. My personal favorite is the Sawyer! Great informative video sir. I'm a Uwharrie guy myself, we do trail adoption with the Trailblazers, Walkers Creek.
Thanks! We'll have to get together sometime. Trail adoption is great. Maybe we can interview you about that soon. Badin Lake Trail was spotless before Memorial Day. This weekend, not even close.
Can you share that vid on FB?
@@uwharrieoutdoorresources sorry I thought for sure I had replied to your comment. Yeah we can get together sometime, I sent you a FB friend request it seems we have several mutual friends.

Is it true that copper heads like to eat the cicadas? 🤓
That's what we hear. Honestly, we have not seen it. I bet they'd be like potato chips to the snakes.
Great information Jeff. I love the history.
Glad you enjoyed it! Please share.
bic lighters and doritos...try it..any flavor will work
Thanks a bunch. It is always good to have multiple options.
It's a great backup. Better choice is to always carry waterproof matches and lint if you are in the backwoods.
That is a good way as well. We weren't saying this is the best or only way. This way does give the kids -and adults- a fun way to go.
Great catfish bait
The bass were hitting the few that fell in the water last night.

Hey man how are you doing. This is Darrell the guy that talked to you at lexington health care. Your mom and my mom shared a room. Just thought I'd leave a message and see how you were doing.. ..
