Tithing into the temple was meant to help those who could not work or were without support, James 1:27. It did support the Levite priesthood, as they were supposed to use their work in service to GOD. ( Deut 18:18-19 ) " I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him. Compare ( Acts 3:17-23) Jesus himself said to his disciples, " I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” also listen to what Jesus says in ( Revelation 3:12 ) Mainstream Christianity teaches trinity.. that Jesus is literally GOD, this is of certain a false teaching. Jesus was God's spokesman, his prophet. I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness but eventually left after deep scripture study. I could no longer accept most of their doctrines.. but as for their teaching Jesus is not Almighty God, not deity but rather speaks for God,, I believe is correct. for he speaks the words of God and God performed miracles through him. I believe I was led before a pastor yesterday and she was confronted by the truth of the gospel But I saw a even darker face underneath the prosperity preachers that they are not really believers in Jesus at all. They really have a rebellious heart towards God just like an unbeliver and so we have the Children of Satan preaching rebellion against God in the name of God. After I pointed out that she was working witchcraft and stealing money and profiting of the sins of the people her eyes blew up. She didn't show she was repenting but that she would continue as she was doing. She tried to be like "well let's just agree to disagree" and said she loved me. I blew her off and said "No greater love hath any man than that one would lay down His life for a friend" and I left. This is a message that leads rebel people into further rebellion by seeking to adorn themselves with the riches of this world which leads their hearts further away from God but these fake pastors don't care because they are wolves

We are called to test the spirit (1 John 4:1 My dear friends, do not believe all who claim to have the spirit, but test them to find out if the spirit they have comes from GOD. ) Prosperity gospel, and every other false manipulation of doctrine that even make the unbelieving speak evil of GOD (Romans 2:24), are there because we have created a platform where the people who claim to represent GOD are not held accountable. There is a lack of accountability. And we are all too busy to take our time to meditate on scripture and ask GOD to reveal his will not only on our lives, but also in the society. These prosperity pastors simply saw a need in the capitalist society, a society where money is the god, and found a way to manipulate scripture for their own benefit. Don't get to attached to the preachers, get attached to Christ. For the heart of man is too sick to be healed (Jer 17:9). Its only Christ who can save us.

I have a condition I need healing, there a bunch of people sick in my church and NOT receiving miracles, show me a church where people gets healed like the bible say, the mentally retarded gets heal, the dead rise, the stutter is set free, show that church and I give not only my tidings but $200 in offerings and more.

I still tithe, but I had to reduce significally the offering amount because my sister is going through a divorce and she doesn't work and she needs all kinds of money, but in my church at offering time they make me feel like I'm robbing God, like if I give more to God offerings ( not tide) that God will give me a miracle. I know I can't God help.

To be fair with the last example some churches use technology for giving to improve safety (of financial information) and make it less frustrating to give in a cashless society. The church I am thinking of in particular uses one, single ipad system and a digital system for accepting donations. However, this church gives massive amounts to Haiti (in particular) and not just randomly but it goes to specific people making a real difference. This church also gives its messages away online for anyone to access and has funds set up for those who lose jobs or hit hard times. Not only that but this church is "portable" which means they don't have their own building or the expenses that come with it. Digital and modern means of giving are a poor measure of the heart of a church concerning prosperity. I enjoyed the rest of this documentary having had run-ins with this theology myself, but the presence of digital giving options alone is not really a sign of anything. It would be just as accurate to point the finger at the offering box with envelopes where you give your card information or cash. If these methods were being used to charge people admission or something, then it would have been slightly more valid. Still great documentary, the last point wasn't accurate or fair but the rest was very interesting.

Question: "What does the Bible say about the prosperity gospel?" Answer:In the prosperity gospel, also known as the “Word of Faith,” the believer is told to use God, whereas the truth of biblical Christianity is just the opposite-God uses the believer. Word of Faith or prosperity theology sees the Holy Spirit as a power to be put to use for whatever the believer wills. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is a Person who enables the believer to do God's will. The prosperity gospel movement closely resembles some of the destructive greed sects that infiltrated the early church. Paul and the other apostles were not accommodating to or conciliatory with the false teachers who propagated such heresy. They identified them as dangerous false teachers and urged Christians to avoid them. Paul warned Timothy about such men in1 Timothy 6:5,9-11. These men of “corrupt mind” supposed godliness was a means of gain and their desire for riches was a trap that brought them “into ruin and destruction” (v. 9). The pursuit of wealth is a dangerous path for Christians and one which God warns about: “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs” (v. 10). If riches were a reasonable goal for the godly, Jesus would have pursued it. But He did not, preferring instead to have no place to lay His head (Matthew 8:20) and teaching His disciples to do the same. It should also be remembered that the only disciple concerned with wealth was Judas. Paul said covetousness is idolatry (Ephesians 5:5) and instructed the Ephesians to avoid anyone who brought a message of immorality or covetousness (Ephesians 5:6-7). Prosperity teaching prohibits God from working on His own, meaning that God is not Lord of all because He cannot work until we release Him to do so. Faith, according to the Word of Faith doctrine, is not submissive trust in God; faith is a formula by which we manipulate the spiritual laws that prosperity teachers believe govern the universe. As the name “Word of Faith” implies, this movement teaches that faith is a matter of what we say more than whom we trust or what truths we embrace and affirm in our hearts. A favorite term in the Word of Faith movement is “positive confession.” This refers to the teaching that words themselves have creative power. What you say, Word of Faith teachers claim, determines everything that happens to you. Your confessions, especially the favors you demand of God, must all be stated positively and without wavering. Then God is required to answer (as though man could require anything of God!). Thus, God's ability to bless us supposedly hangs on our faith.James 4:13-16 clearly contradicts this teaching: “Now listen, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.’ Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? Answer:Apostasy, from the Greek word apostasia, means “a defiance of an established system or authority; a rebellion; an abandonment or breach of faith.” In the first-century world, apostasy was a technical term for political revolt or defection. And just like in the first century, apostasy threatens the Body of Christ today. The Bible warns about people like Arius (c. A.D. 250 - 336), a Christian priest from Alexandria, Egypt, who was trained at Antioch in the early fourth century. About A.D. 318, Arius accused Bishop Alexander of Alexandria of subscribing to Sabellianism, a false teaching which asserted that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit were merely roles or modes assumed by God at various times. Arius was determined to emphasize the oneness of God; however, he went too far in his teaching of God’s nature. Arius denied the Trinity and introduced what appeared on the surface to be an inconsequential difference between the Father and Son. Arius argued that Jesus was not homoousios (of the same essence) as the Father, but was rather homoiousios (of similar essence). Only one Greek letter - the iota (i) - separated the two. Arius described his position in this manner: “The Father existed before the Son. There was a time when the Son did not exist. Therefore, the Son was created by the Father. With respect to apostasy, it is critical that all Christians understand two important things: (1) how to recognize apostasy and apostate teachers, and (2) why apostate teaching is so deadly. The Forms of Apostasy To fully identify and combat apostasy, it is important that Christians understand its various forms and the traits that characterize its doctrines and teachers. As to the forms of apostasy, there are two main types: (1) a falling away from key and true doctrines of the Bible into heretical teachings that proclaim to be “the real” Christian doctrine, and (2) a complete renunciation of the Christian faith, which results in a full abandonment of Christ. Arius represents the first form of apostasy-a denial of key Christian truths (such as the divinity of Christ) that begins a downhill slide into a full departure from the faith, which is the second form of apostasy. It is important to understand that the second form almost always begins with the first. A heretical belief becomes a heretical teaching that splinters and grows until it pollutes all aspects of a person’s faith, and then the end goal of Satan is accomplished, which is a complete falling away from Christianity. A recent example of this process is a 2010 study done by prominent atheist Daniel Dennett and Linda LaScola called “Preachers Who Are Not Believers.” Dennett and LaScola’s work chronicles five different preachers who over time were presented with and accepted heretical teachings about Christianity and now have completely fallen away from the faith and are either pantheists or clandestine atheists. One of the most disturbing truths highlighted in the study is that these preachers maintain their position as pastors of Christian churches with their congregations being unaware of their leader’s true spiritual state. The dangers of apostasy were warned about in the book of Jude, which serves as a handbook for understanding the characteristics of apostates like those chronicled in Dennett and LaScola’s study. Jude’s words are every bit as relevant for us today as they were when he penned them in the first century, so it is important we carefully read and understand them. The Characteristics of Apostasy and Apostates Jude was the half-brother of Jesus and a leader in the early church. In his New Testament letter, he outlines how to recognize apostasy and strongly urges those in the body of Christ to contend earnestly for the faith (vs. 3). The Greek word translated “contend earnestly” is a compound verb from which we get the word “agonize.” It is in the present infinitive form, which means that the struggle will be continuous. In other words, Jude is telling us that there will be a constant fight against false teaching and that Christians should take it so seriously that we “agonize” over the fight in which we are engaged. Moreover, Jude makes it clear that every Christian is called to this fight, not just church leaders, so it is critical that all believers sharpen their discernment skills so that they can recognize and prevent apostasy in their midst. After urging his readers to contend earnestly for the faith, Jude highlights the reason: “For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ” (vs. 4). In this one verse, Jude provides Christians with three traits of apostasy and apostate teachers. First, Jude says that apostasy can be subtle. Jude uses the word “crept” (found in no other book of the Bible) to describe the apostate’s entry into the church. In extra-biblical Greek, the term describes the cunning craftiness of a lawyer who, through clever argumentation, infiltrates the minds of courtroom officials and corrupts their thinking. The word literally means “slip in sideways; come in stealthily; sneak in; hard to detect.” In other words, Jude says it is rare that apostasy begins in an overt and easily detectable manner. Instead, it looks a lot like Arius’ preaching in which, in a nonchalant manner, only a single letter differentiates his doctrine from the real teaching of the Christian faith. Describing this aspect of apostasy and its underlying danger, A. W. Tozer wrote, "So skilled is error at imitating truth, that the two are constantly being mistaken for each another. It takes a sharp eye these days to know which brother is Cain and which is Abel." The apostle Paul also speaks to the outwardly pleasing behavior of apostates and their teaching when he says, "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:13-14). In other words, do not look for apostates to appear bad on the outside or speak dramatic words of heresy at the outset of their teaching. Rather than denying truth outright, apostates will twist it to fit their own agenda, but as pastor R. C. Lensky has noted, “The worst forms of wickedness consist in perversions of the truth.” Second, Jude describes the apostates as “ungodly” and as those who use God’s grace as a license to commit unrighteous acts. Beginning with “ungodly,” Jude describes eighteen unflattering traits of apostates so his readers can more easily identify them. Jude says the apostates are ungodly (vs. 4), morally perverted (vs. 4), denying Christ (vs. 4), ones who defile the flesh (vs. 8), rebellious (vs. 8), people who revile angels (vs. 8), who are ignorant about God (vs. 8), those who proclaim false visions (vs. 10), self-destructive (vs. 10), grumblers (vs. 16), fault finders (vs. 16), self-satisfying (vs. 16), people who use arrogant words and false flattery (vs. 16), mockers of God (vs. 18), those who cause divisions (vs. 19), worldly minded (vs. 19), and finally (and not surprisingly), devoid of the Spirit/unsaved (vs. 19). Third, Jude says apostates “deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” How do apostates do this? Paul tells us in his letter to Titus, "To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed" (Titus 1:15-16, emphasis added). Through their unrighteous behavior, the apostates show their true selves. Unlike an apostate, a true believer is someone who has been delivered from sin to righteousness in Christ. With Paul, they ask the apostates who promote licentious behavior, “What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?” (Romans 6:1-2) But the apostates’ false teaching also shows their true nature. Peter says, “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves” (2 Peter 2:1). Another aspect of true believers is that they have been delivered out of spiritual darkness into light (Ephesians 5:8) and therefore will not deny core truths of Scripture like Arius did with the divinity of Jesus. Ultimately, the sign of an apostate is that he eventually falls away and departs from the truth of God’s Word and His righteousness. The apostle John signifies this is a mark of a false believer: “They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us” (1 John 2:19). Ideas Have Consequences That God takes apostasy and false teaching seriously is evidenced by the fact that every New Testament book except Philemon contains warnings about false teaching. Why is this? Simply because ideas have consequences. Right thinking and its fruit produces goodness, whereas wrong thinking and its accompanying action results in undesired penalties. As an example, the Cambodian killing fields in the 1970s were the product of the nihilistic worldview of Jean Paul Sartre and his teaching. The Khmer Rouge’s leader Pol Pot lived out Sartre’s philosophy toward the people in a clear and frightening way, which was articulated in this manner: “To keep you is no benefit. To destroy you is no loss.” It should be remembered that Satan did not come to the first couple in the Garden with an external armament or supernatural weapon; instead, he came to them with an idea. And it was that idea that condemned them and the rest of humankind, with the only remedy being the sacrificial death of God’s Son. The great tragedy is, whether knowingly or unknowingly, the apostate teacher dooms his unsuspecting followers. One of the most frightening verses in all of Scripture comes from the lips of Jesus. Speaking to His disciples about the religious leaders of His day, He said, “Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if a blind man guides a blind man,both will fall into a pit” (Matthew 15:14, emphasis added). This verse is alarming because Jesus affirms that it is not only the false teachers that go to destruction, but their disciples also follow them. Christian philosopher Soren Kierkegaard put it this way: “For it has never yet been known to fail that one fool, when he goes astray, takes several others with him.” Conclusion In A.D. 325, the Council of Nicea convened primarily to take up the issue of Arius and his teaching. Much to Arius’s dismay, the end result was his excommunication and a statement in the Nicene Creed that affirmed Christ’s divinity: “We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of all things visible and invisible; and in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten of his Father, of the substance of the Father, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten not made, being of one substance with the Father.” Arius may have died centuries ago, but his spiritual children are still with us to this day in the form of cults like the Jehovah’s Witnesses and others who deny Christ’s true essence and person. Sadly, until Christ returns and every last spiritual enemy has been removed, tares such as these will be present among the wheat (Matthew 13:24-30). In fact, Scripture says apostasy will only get worse as Christ’s return approaches. “At that time [the latter days] many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another” (Matthew 24:10). Paul echoes Jesus in his inspired writings as well. The apostle told the Thessalonians that a great falling away would precede Christ’s second coming (2 Thessalonians 2:3) and that the end times would be characterized by tribulation and hollow religious charlatans: “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be . . . holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; avoid such men as these” (2 Timothy 3:1-2,5). It is critical, now more than ever, that every believer pray for discernment, combat apostasy, and contend earnestly for the faith that has once and for all been delivered to the saints. ======== Question: "What is the definition of heresy?" Answer:When we hear the word heresy, we might conjure up images of medieval torture chambers and heresy trials. There was a period of church history that certainly included those things. If we are not history buffs or religious scholars, we might know that heresy is a bad thing, but still be rather foggy on the details. So, what exactly is heresy, and what does the Bible have to say about it? A basic definition of heresy, according to Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, is “adherence to a religious opinion contrary to church dogma.” A second definition is “dissent or deviation from a dominant theory, opinion, or practice.” That’s a good starting point for us. These definitions identify two key elements: a dominant position and a contrary position. With regards to religion, any belief or practice that goes against the official position of the church is considered heretical. Heresy has existed in every age, but during the 12th century, the Catholic Church took unprecedented action against it. As the power of the Catholic Church increased in Europe, dissenting voices of other Christian groups became more troublesome. Pope Alexander III (1162-63) encouraged informers, so the church could discover evidence of heresy. In 1184 Pope Lucius III issued a decree that a convicted heretic was to be handed over to secular authorities for punishment. Over the next several decades, the church increased the severity of punishment for heresy, ultimately making it a capital offense under Pope Gregory IX. During this time, the Dominicans became the principle agents of the Inquisition, a special court given authority to judge intentions as well as actions. When heresy was suspected in a village, an inquisitor was sent to preach a sermon calling for the villagers to come forward with reports of heresy. This was a “general inquisition” that included a period of grace for anyone who would confess. This was followed by a “special inquisition” that might include coercion, false witnesses, and torture to obtain a “confession.” Those identified as heretics were then ordered to do penance, which might consist of mandatory church attendance, pilgrimage to a shrine, loss of property, or imprisonment. Heretics who refused to repent were sentenced to death. The Inquisition continued in most areas of Europe until the 15th century. Obviously, the gauge for “heretical” teaching varies according to the established orthodoxy of the day. Any group or individual who differs from another group can technically be called heretical. In Acts 24:14, Christians are called heretics by the Jews. The “heretics” of the Middle Ages were only heretical in that they disagreed with the Catholic Church, not because they held unbiblical doctrines. The Spanish Inquisition executed over 14,000 people, many of them for simply possessing a Bible. Thus, biblically speaking, it was the established church itself that was heretical during the Middle Ages. Regarding biblical Christianity, what is heresy?Second Peter 2:1 says, “There will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” From this verse, we see that heresy is anything that denies the teaching of Jesus. In1 Corinthians 11:19, Paul takes the church to task for having heresies among them-heresies that led to schisms in the body. These verses touch on both aspects of what constitutes heresy in the church: denying the doctrines God has given, and dividing the body He has created. Both of these are dangerous, destructive actions that are soundly rebuked by Scripture. See also1 John 4:1-6;1 Timothy 1:3-6;2 Timothy 1:13-14; and Jude 1. How does the Bible deal with heresy?Titus 3:10 says, “A man that is an heretic after the first and second admonition reject” (KJV). The truth of Christ will unify believers (John 17:22-23), but heresy, by its very nature, cannot peacefully co-exist with the truth. Of course, not every disagreement in the church is heresy. Having a different opinion is not wrong, but when the opinion is divisive or maintained in defiance of clear biblical teaching, it becomes heretical. The apostles themselves disagreed at times (see Acts 15:36-41), and Peter once had to be rebuked for divisive and legalistic behavior (Galatians 2:11-14). But, praise the Lord, through an attitude of humility and submission to the God of truth, the apostles worked through their disagreements and set an example for us. How do we guard against heresy?Philippians 2:2-3is a good starting point: “Complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” As we submit ourselves to the authority of God’s Word and deal with one another in love and respect, divisions and heresies will be diminished. ======================================

let me first say that I enjoyed your video and I was actually a little shocked at some of it. For instance-I have never seen a pastor's sermon for sale on a website. That does seem crazy! I actually attend a church that is probably the opposite of a prosperity gospel church. For the first time in 3 years since the church opened, ouir pastor jsut gave a sermon on giving and basically he said "Give what you can and if you don't want to give-don't give, because God doesn't want your money if you don't want to give it". Our pastor also works a full time job and does preaching out of love mostly, although he does get a small offering for it. Our church is a small log cabin one room church that use to be a house a long time ago. It does have a place for children downstairs but that is all. Our church collects food and clothing every week for the community and a lot of our offering money goes to the community as well. Some of it is saved for things like-our sound system is not good, so we are saving to buy a better one-not anything super fancy, just a little better than what we have. So here is the only thing I find fault in your video-It is not a capitalist principal in the church that is causing the problem. It is greed and false gospel that is the problem. Capitalism is not a bad thing if the money does not become the treasure of the heart. God blessed certain people in the Bible with lots of farm animals and land and those people were to tithe from their land and animals. It was them that provided for the poor. But some people did not own land or animals and so they did not tithe, they gave offerings when and if they could. Of course, this was old testament and specific to Jews in the Israel region. But we know that God did bless certain people, but I believe he blessed them because he knew they would be faithful in giving back (tithing) which helped the whole community. People tend to think tithing went to the church. It didn't. It went to the Levites, who were dual workers-they worked both for the church and they also had other jobs. The levites then gave 10% of what they received (in tithe from the Jews in Israel with land and animals) to the priests. Tithe was always about food and land. Nothing else. Offerings were varying from fruit to occasionally money (not often money). Gentiles NEVER tithed. They couldn't have tithed even if they wanted to-the Jewish temples would not take their tithe or offering. However, Gentiles did take up collections (probably of both money as well as food) for the church planters such as Peter. Paul tells us he had a right to money if he wanted it, but he didn't want it because he was a tent maker and could support himself. Paul actually tells the Corinthians in 2 Cor. 12:14, that not only do they NOT need to pay him, but he will spend on them! When have you ever heard a pastor give THAT message? In fact, it is in 2 Corinthians 8&9 that we really learn what giving is all about. 1. we need to give ourselves to God and God's will before we even think about giving 2. We should give in response to Christ's gift 3. We should give with a sincere heart, not out of a commandment 4. give what you feel called to give and sometimes even give beyond your ability (2 Corinthians 8:3) 5. give joyfully 6. Because we want to grow spiritually 7. Because we want to CONTINUE to grow spiritually. Notice I said "giving" not tithing. Tithing is no longer needed because there is no more levitical tribe to tithe too. Jesus replaced the priests so no more tithing is necessary except to "offer" gifts to God out of love and obedience to his call upon our hearts to do so. I think if people really understood tithing and offering from a true Biblical perspective from Genesis all the way through Hebrews, this whole prosperity gospel thing would cease to exist but I am shocked at how little many pastors REALLY understand tithes and offerings. But then again, the average lay person can figure all this out on their own if they just read God's word on giving. I was able to figure it out and I am just a mom who loves the Lord. :)

Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 14 And the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things; and they scoffed at him. 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they that justify yourselves in the sight of men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

In 2 King 12:2-16, there is record of the use of money to rebuild the temple. The people that did the labor were paid for their skilled services. God's house has expenses, too. The disciples Jesus chose to carry promote the gospel after his death were not poverty minded men. They were Jen that had experienced success in their professional lives, which gave them experience in business, leadership, languages, training, tolerance of risk, & visionaries. Believers were given the greatest treasure imaginable when they accepted Christ. However, too many don't realize the power, authority, & anointing they possess to build God's Kingdom. Everyone has their own assignment & if we focus on understanding our purpose, enhancing our personal relationships with God, & developing our individual spiritual gifts, we would see God's glory manifested in our lives. Yes, their are crooked preachers/pastors, but there are far more honest & upright servants laboring in God's Kingdom that don't receive the accolades they deserve. They are serving their congregation & their communities faithfully, in service & obedience to God. The news will surely publicize negative issues, but our time would be better served to promote the good news. Just my opinion & perspective.

I enjoyed your video on prosperity gospel. I agree with some of your points, like the church connecting & serving in the community. However, I believe wealth has more to do with an individual's ability of stewardship. Jesus shared the parable of the talents & the one that did nothing, was the one chastised & penalized. Unfortunately, I believe too many Christians rely too heavily on systems, jobs, & charities, instead of believing God's Word. Don't get me wrong, I believe there are false profits & some who should not be in the pulpit. However, I also believe that many Christians live below what God intended for us because of our lack of obedience, lack of faith, lack of commitment, lack of knowledge of God's principles & promises, & most commonly lack of personal relationship. Christians, disciples of Jesus Christ, joint heirs of Christ, adopted children of God, "should" be able to handle wealth responsibly. We have a great responsibility to spread the gospel, feed the hungry, house the homeless, & share our blessings with others because of the compassion & love God gave us. Poverty does not equate to holiness anymore than wealth. We are supposed to prosper as our souls prosper, so as we mature spiritually, we should see healing, reconciliation, restoration, promotions, deliverances, love, giving, patience, and so much more. The wise leave an inheritance for their children's children, so where are the visionaries? I apologize for the lengthy post, it burns me up when poor criticize wealthy pastors, especially those that have other streams of income, retirement checks, royalties from books, music, or movies, real estate property, businesses, & more. If people would spend more time studying God's Word & cultivating their personal relationship with God, instead of bashing church leaders we would see some changes. This negative propaganda towards Christianity is not beneficial for Kingdom growth.
