Here's my method for cleaning clay balls: I got a bag from IKEA, and since I live in a tiny apartment without a lawn, I can't wash them with a hose. Instead, I use a bin to contain the dirty water and a colander to hold the clay balls. I throw out the dirty water rather than emptying it into the sink to avoid clogging the drain.
