The Lightweight Adventurers
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 1 มิ.ย. 2017
Overland adventurers and best mates to boot. Two ordinary blokes who let adventure and opportunity happen!
Any opportunity to get out and about to explore on the Honda CRF is snapped up! Our aim is to see everything and anything that the world has to show us and the Honda CRF 250 is the machine to take us there. Adventure isn't always found on the far side of the world either, you don't have to go hacking your way through the Darien gap to find exploration (although, that does sound ace). Adventure can be on your doorstep, it can be in your town or village and it is certainly in the UK if you want to find it.
If this sounds like the sort of thing that might 'float your boat' then please consider subscribing, your support means a lot to us and we really appreciate it.
Ride safe, we will see you on the trails

Theres not masses of choice compared to back home but some of the options are both different to home and pretty awesome. Come and find out what I ended up buying, I think you will like it.

Thanks for the video. I was able to easily replace the spring with a Hyperpro spring. I have a Crf 300L. Here in the lower part there is a 5cm spacer ring. The new spring is longer and this ring must be removed. The amount of oil is also different. 170/80mm. Unfortunately, Crf 300L does not have such a good demonstration video for Hyperpro springs. Adam from Hungary.
Hello. Does sheepskin work?
Lovely bike. Had one for a few days in the Canary Islands. It has huge potential. Excellent on road. Suspension is very good. Stiff in the twisties yet looks after you when the going gets a bit rougher. Super amazing mpg. I can also attest to the lack of vibrations when the bike gets up to speed - you wouldn't think it's a single. Haven't done huge amount of trails but I can see from my limited time on the bike that it can withstand the trails quite well. Question is, can it ever out-do the original?
It’s a toy and also a guilty pleasure and it’s a good way to maintain our sanity. I think as a hard working man we need something of our own to enjoy and adventure 😊
Hey, Northern TET in winter. Great adventure. Just wind, no sleet and ice yet ;-) Günter/Nürnberg
...yet! 😅
What bag is that on your windshield? Acerbis toolbag? Great video guys
Nice job, I am waiting for mine :) your video was very entertaing to watch ! Greetings from Romania !
Brilliant guys! Watched the lot and found it very invigorating! Done the Alps in 07, then life got in the way! But looking forward to the next Bike for new adventures!👍
Home safely, with another fixed tyre on a Saturday night. Great journey, have to do that myself. Thnaks for sharing, Günter/Nürnberg
Well, traffic is Paris is unbelievable. I prefer the quetness of a TET ;-) Very kind of you to think about French train drivers. Günter/Nürnberg
Would love to do your adventure as well. Have to cross France, too. There are several TETs from the Pyrenees to the Channel. Which one did you take? Dordogne or Limoges are not quite on it, are they? Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
the annoying thing is that in first gear it only goes like max 20 km and idk if its just me but i find it annoying because i need to switch to second quite fast compared to the crf 250l
and also it is quite low when you drive another person and it kind of struggles to ride with 2 people haha
Best tyre for 80/20 riding . No mud or sand. Mostly gravel trails with few short rutted sections . ?
Resting in the sunshine, sipping a glass of red wine - quite a change from the snowy Pyrenees. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
It was a perfect change of pace in all honesty. Thanks for watching the series
Brave swimmers, advanced technicians and happy explorers, that's what you are. Great series, Günter/Nürnberg
Good reviews. The fuel tanks the only thing I’d maybe upgrade on my CRF250L and thats only if I planned on doing some distances. I like the openess of no screen. Yes it does leave you open to some wind buffetting on A roads but as mines just a bike for fun rides out I’m more than happy to put up with it whilst I discover the Cornish back roads
Hi guys, what tyres are you both running here? And can you remember sizes
Thanks for the vid. Great as always. Did you relocate to the UAE or just temp? Whats are your plans for the future and the channel. I really enjoy your content and would like to see more
Hi, thanks 🙏 Yes I (Jamie) have moved to the UAE for a while. We absolutely plan to keep the channel moving even though it’s been a little slow through the winter, life just gets in the way sometimes I guess. There is certainly more to come 😎👌
Where is the start point?
Are you doing the GTSO this year 2025, being mr lazy head have you a paypal page because all the others take a big %age
If I could use them, I would, but I have a 17 inch rear rim🫤
Desert time with some surprises. You're in good spirits, despite Fast food ;-) Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg
As always chaps, great video. Looking forward to this years festival too! Quick question... I have a Voge 300 Rally and I shall be doing a 2,000 mile trip later this year to do the ACT Pyrenees. Be about 400 road miles to the start (obvs with Ferry), 750 miles of ACT and the remainder road miles home. I am looking at either the Pirelli MT21 front and rear or Trackers front and rear. Based on 400 miles of road (mainly backroads 50 - 60 MPH) to get to the start and then 750 miles on the trail, would you expect the Trackers to still be performing well at the end of the ACT? My biggest fear for the tracker is the first 400 miles of road causing significant wear, and then them not performing well for the off road 750 miles or so. Thoughts appreciated. Keep up the good work!
The cider thing round the campsite. It’s just reinforcing the stereotype of brits abroad. Thanks for your service🙄
Can't help but notice, you're standing up straight most of the time. I was taught never to ride that way but to adopt the attack position with knees gripping the tank/seat and stick the butt out with head over the bars.
Great video. What riding pants are you wearing? Any good?
@@timebadlyspent hey, thanks 😎. They're the Adventure Spec linesman in the sand colour. Yes, excellent trousers, especially in the heat, they're very breathable
That was fantastic guys , and Scotland is always worth it. Top job guys.
Thanks, it was an incredible trip
I love trackers but I only get about 5 days riding out of a rear tyre ..
Change of plans because of freezing - that's fair enough. Doesn't look like the edge of a desert, well at least not today. Gotta ride there, too. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
Haha yes, it was certainly cold and not your typical looking dessert 😂 you should definitely go brother, enjoy 😎
@@lightweightadv Next autumn, I'm quite booked out during the season. But Spain in November should work, been there hiking. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
Great video, I really enjoyed it! I was there, having ridden from Wales, and this year my other half is riding her bike there too. Not long to go now!
Nice vid. Don’t think I would put camouflage on my drone though😉. If anything I would paint it highlighter bright yellow or similar to be found easily if crashed.
Got the same bike, have ridden the same tyres last week on Portugal, equally impressed as you. And would love to ride the Spanish TET one day. For now just enjoying your series, thanks, Günter/Nürnberg
Junk racks
Nice vid. This is definitely going on my 2do list. Ive recently started doing Green laning down in Devon. Ive got a ktm 250cc 2stroke which ive got running 2my liking now. Its got a 6 litre tank, would i make it both ways on this trail on 1 tank? Thanks in advance..jj
Too much of a good thing is still too much (wine). Thanks for your selfless effort in order to support the French farmers. Since they introduced the 80 km/h limit and 30 in towns, France has doubled in size. Looking forward to your next episode, Günter/Nürnberg
Those tires look like shit
Well, they carried me 13,000 miles off road over a continent, so they actually proved themselves pretty good.
Just found your channel. Nice episode, suscribed, looking for more. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg
While you are in there, pull out the screen at the bottom of the engine compartment and check it for debris and clean and replace it!
Can’t wait to start green laning. Just got my mod 1&2 test after new years then buy a bike. Love the video keep it up👊💯
Nice video! As you put it, nobody asks but everybody wonders! Safe rides! Cheers!
The thing with this Tent is that LoneRider is not a tent company. The tent packs way too large, is too heavy and too expensive. There are much better tents from tent/outdoor companies (Forclaz MT500 2P, Durston Gear X-Dome as two examples). However, very well done and amusing video!
I hate how ALL these guys skip over how to remove the body panels. Takes a real long time to figure out how to remove them without damaging them. I can get all the information presented here more clearly in the service manual. The only thing the service manual doesn’t explain is how to remove the body panels. 😂
Supposed to work with magadan panniers. It doesn't. It's utter garbage! Totally unfit for use with that luggage.
250 L for me 🎉
Thank you for making this video. I’m going to get a motorbike next year and green lanes and the TET are what I’d be interested in. I didn’t know about all this.
I d say if you have time to spend, there is no rush to get to where you are going! A nice speed is 100 to 120 kilometres on th the back roads! I’d say Kawasaki 300 adventure motorcycle. Suzuki 250 storm adventure maybe.
35:40 he was asking how fast it can go :D
Question, when you remove the judder springs, what goes back in their place? Does the clutch pack (Ck1313) come with a replacement plate?
Yep, exactly that, just a regular plate replacement
