Elidir Fawr & Y Garn Hike | Snowdonia National Park
It was an awesome day out in the mountains.
Quite a challenging route up towards Y Garn followed by a ridge walk providing some of the best views of the Snowdonia National Park then later ascending Elidir Fawr.
We started our route in Nant Peris ascending towards Y Garn and it is a relentless, steep ascent to the top! Worth it though to see excellent views of Tryfan and Glyder Fawr.
Making our way along the ridge allowed us to get our breath back before tackling Elidir.
Elidir, the most northern peak of Glyderau. It is known as Big Elidir referencing a 6th-century warrior king in Welsh legend. There is also a power station inside the mountain where water flows from the upper reservoir of Marchlyn Mawr to the lower Llyn Peris.
I wish I could say that descending was much easier!

My first attempt at the National 3 Peaks Challenge | Epic fail ❌
มุมมอง 684 หลายเดือนก่อน
As you can guess by the title, unfortunately, we didn't finish the challenge in under 24 hours due to road congestion and an injury when descending from Ben Nevis. That didn't take away our enjoyment of travelling to the Scottish Highlands and we also raised some money for the earthquake relief appeal in Morocco. We will definitely attempt this again in the future as we will do things different...
My Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Filmed in August 2023, this was our attempt at the Yorkshire 3 Peak Challenge. I was joined by Martin and Alison who I met during my Mount Toubkal adventure. A challenging walk involving 24.5 miles with 5,200 feet (1585m) of ascent. We would also have high winds, rain and hail to add to the challenge. Did we make it under 12 hours to complete the challenge? Instagram: richywayne15
Aran Fawddwy Hike | Snowdonia National Park

Located in Southern Snowdonia and is the 16th-highest summit in Wales (905.6m). This has been one of my favourite mountain walks in the park. I start my ascent from Cwm Cywarch where remains of an old mining village surround the valleys and before this was apparently home to a band of outlaws known as Cochion Cywarch (The Reds of Cywarch) which is said to be named for the colour of their leader...

Lots of fun climbing Mount Siabod via the Daear Ddu route involving some tough scrambling to the top. The Coast Guard Rescue helicopter also landed near us to attend to someone who slipped.
