Meath v Cork All-Ireland Final Gaelic Football song 1987/88 - (Seán) Boylan Power
Lovely watching this again. Lovely play of the ball. None of this passing back rubbish the game has evolved into now
Those were the days for us will we ever be as good again
On the News of the GREAT MANS Passing It's brought me back to this great Moment in His Long Career Rest in Peace the Voice of the Gaa.
terrible picture
Sean boylan is my nans cousin... BOYLAN POWER
Where is mick dunne the famous commentator not.
Proper football compared to the shite now!!
Great player BUT Peter withnall from DOWN Skinned him that day
Nope 🤣
Grew up these years meath were a great team, Cork man here
Despite those incredible heroics, Meath went all the way but lost the AI final. An astonishing series of games
Golden glory days
The start of it all for the next 15 years or so. 7 All Ireland Finals, 4 wins
i am from Meath come on you boys in green come on you boys in green best day ever 1st all Ireland with Sean Boylan BEST manager ever can't believe it
A shorter but clearer version here www.rte.ie/archives/2016/0705/800268-meath-beat-dublin/
Great spot - someone needs to overlay that with better footage and we have a winner
There Was only one Champions that year An Dun.
The fucken legs were ran off Meath that’s why!!!
Neil McGee Mick Lyons 2 legends of the game
When meath were a great team I really wish random counties came up and became great more often

@@gerry1308 i think your a bit late Gerry
Meath were a great team at this time. Proper attacking team. A style that looks very dated now.
great man
I don't see why there's a goal if te players kick the ball through the posts so much. COME ON CORK! Make MacSwiney proud.
Super player, a darren fay compilation video would be great!!
Foley looks like Jamie Clarke, Ard Mhacha
i'm a tyrone man but i still like this song

replying to my own question, some 34,000 attended.
how many people attended this game?
one tough
my dad often told me about this final
Thats Harsh. Larry was a great player. There was a lot of tinker like players in Meath at the same time.
That Meath team had 4 footballers of the year and 1 player on the team of the millennium. That Meath team played Dublin in 9 championships games in 6 years and lost once. That Meath team played Cork in 5 big matchs in Croke in 4 years ( 87-90) and lost once. 1 Colm O Rourke won Footballer of the year 2 Brian Stafford won footballer of the year 3 Robbie O Malley won Footballer of the Year. He is the only corner back ever to win footballer of the year along with kerrys Marc O Se 4 Martin O Connell won Footballer of the year. He is the only modern player from last 35 years to be on team of Millenium Most All Ireland winning teams have 1 Footballer of the year, players maybe 2. But 4 Footballer of the year on one team is exceptional. Same number of footballers of the year on the Great kerry team of 75 to 86 who had 4 with Jack O Se Pat Spillane John O keefe Mickey Sheedy who were footballers of the year. That team also had Mick lyons best full back in Ireland in 1980s, best midfield partnership in Ireland 87 to 90 Liam Hayes Gerry McEntee and best corner forward in Ireland 88 to 91 Bernard Flynn. That team had the greatest full forward line ever in O Rourke Stafford Flynn only kerry Sheedy Listen Egan is considered better. And also thry were managed by the greatest manager ever along with Mick Dwyer Sean Boylan.
what was the score that day?

Just for the record, this game was played at the Polo Grounds, along the shore of the Harlem River. It was built in 1911 and served as the home of the NY Giants until they relocated to San Francisco after the 1957 season, and the NY Mets for their first two years, 1962 and 1963. It was demolished in 1964 in favor of four huge public housing towers and a school.
Thanks for posting this my uncle was a player in this final mc dyer

It was Nialll Guiden who incidentally was on fire and gave Foley the run around all day, until..... Jesus id do anything for a day like that again, pity no one has put up Jody Devine against Kildare.
What a day - can remember it well dancing in the rain in the Cusack Stand. Thanks for posting.
