I always thought grappling alone, say 3 times a week is all the s&c you need for most people. You develop so much strength and endurance by just grappling. Adding additional routines hinders recovery in my experience. For the professionals, i understand they may require additional work.

I fell into this trap because of social media and a few of those people out there promoting this rat race mentality and ended up with Adrenal Fatigue like issues. My only question is how do men in special operations roles manage this? The training alone breaks you down. No sleep. All of this. Is it something you go into with advantage with let’s say an already trained body and mind so you can handle it or are some of us just weak 😂 Law enforcement, first responders and the spec ops community as a whole I guess. Sincerely curious and would love your input unless you have a blog or TH-cam video about this just point me in that direction. Love your content and subscribed 🤘🏼

Great Q The differences are multitudinal: 1. SF Selection is an acute stage and comes at the end of a long period of [hopefully] specific preparation. Many candidates need as long as two years to be truly prepared for the rigours of those courses. 2. The fears & threats experienced in that world are real and justified. What I mean to say, is a natural reaction to a true stressor [i.e. a guy pointing a gun at you]. It's chronic stress coming from from just looking at over-stimulating social media content or divisive mainstream media designed to cause outrage 3. It's sadly documented that a great many tactical athletes to deal with / succumb to stress related issues. We work with a number inside the program to continue to inoculate them to various stressors and their operational tempos. 4. The goal is not to justify high stress in our own lives by comparing it to an operational tempo. The frame ought to be "how are the guys at the tip of the spear regulating their physiology & psychology to allow them to do that? In what ways can we apply those regulatory skills to ourselves?" 5. The truth is, LEO and the Military community quite literally give so much of themselves to protect us. "No one gets out alive" - without injuries, pain or otherwise. This is why its imperative we continue to acknowledge and appreciate their service and sacrifice.

@@MarcRhodesUncharted Wow. Such a detailed, beautiful answer. It makes so much sense in 2024 especially. If you can, please make a TH-cam video or blog post or podcast about this exact topic. The world needs more of you.
