Mick Ronson - Slaughter on Tenth Avenue
มุมมอง 85K17 ปีที่แล้ว
As described on www.theoriginalmickronson.com website: "Having completed his work on Bowie's Pinups, Ronson entered the first months of 1974 under the guidance of Tony De Fries and the MainMan promotional organization. With a contract from RCA in hand, Ronson had retired to the Chateau D'Herouville in the North of France where he recorded his first solo album, Slaughter On 10th Avenue (Pinups h...
Mick Ronson and Lou Reed on Transformer
มุมมอง 142K18 ปีที่แล้ว
From www.theoriginalmickronson.com: Lou Reed's album, Transformer, was Mick Ronson's first co-production with David Bowie. Transformer was Reed's second album after having left the Velvet Underground. While not given formal credit for his role, Reed credited Ronson for his production work on the album citing Mick as "an incredible guitar player, a great producer and great arranger: a lovely man...
This vid's had a lot of views. Perhaps somebody could tell me what the title of the song is? I can't find a reference to it anywhere.
I love when he went back to his blues roots. He was 41 years old here in Feb 88.
Mick Ronson - a true working class hero. Ronno from Hull was a brilliant musician / Producer / Arranger and much more for sure.
'Miss you, Mick Ronson. Happy Celestial Birthday. (May 26, 1946 - Apr. 29, 1993)
Ronno 👌🇬🇧🎼
Ok song but its too long...
The first and last time I saw Hunter Ronson in 1989 Ronno sang " White Light White Heat". RIP Reed Ronson
I saw Hunter Ronson soundcheck, the concert then went backstage Nov 1989. What a concert! " YUI Orta" tour. Its been 30 years since his passing- there is so many of his recordings out there- Bowie, sessions, solo, Mott the Hoople, with Ian Hunter and unreleased. Thank God for YT
What a super pearl! Thanks for share.
Just listened to the album that Ronno produced and played on with this band on my vintage valve (tube) Hi Hi System, believe me it truly sparkles. What a great producer he is/was! He definitely was the vehicle that propelled Bowie onto stardom.
❤❤Mick Ronson's sound❤❤ Such a talented musician. My husband, Rod, introduced me to his music. I played Ronson's song "This is for You" at Rod's memorial.
He was Great Micke Ronson ❤️🌟🌹
Never heard of this geezer, but he clearly thinks he’s Bowie. 😂😂😂
Other way round mate. Bowie thought he was Ronno.
@@mrdeafa25 eh? 🤔😲😲
This guy has GOT to be trolling. Don't bite. Love ya Mick - always.❤🙏
I'm pleased to say that I shot and directed this video for Mainman back in 1974. Haven't seen it in all that time. That's 47 years ago. Years before MTV. Crappy Xfer. He was a great guy.
Do you know if theres a better quality that exists? You did a great job by the way and locations were great too!
Always the gold les Paul
Mick never played a gold Les Paul. He played a black 68 Les Paul custom with the front sanded down to the bare wood.
I want to say he switched to the Tele because of weight. But I am not positive. He may have switched before he got sick. A good question.
Never saw him play a fender before 😲
I believe the Les Paul was getting too heavy for him. It didn’t matter. Great guitarist.🎸🇦🇺🤘😢
Fantastic, miss you so much Mick Robson 😥
Mick Ronson the council gardener from 'ull. I believed recruited by Woody Woodmansy to form the Spiders from Mars to back David Bowie,
Wrong drummer. It was John Cambridge who introduced them. Woody was already in The Rats with. Ronno when Bowie came to Hull with John who brought him to meet Mick and changed everybody's lives.John still is the unsung hero who has many tales to tell.
Sham was a big help to Ronson during recording of his last album heaven and hull with writing and vocals.
Please check out this tribute th-cam.com/video/4dAiwiiNi2o/w-d-xo.html
Ronno is great love the track

R.I.P. MICK WHAT A SAD LOSS TO US ALL.

That's Molly , Sham's then fiance now ex-wife , I believe ....
God, I got to start watching more videos on here. This is fucking amazing.
Fantastic,I miss Micks music
Blimey! Mick is brilliant as ever!
He's inspired so many people! When I first watched D.A Penebakers Ziggy Hamersmith gig, it was Ronson that had me transfixed at the age of seven! Fu*k me, even when you watch Spinal Tap, Nigel Tufnel's facial expressions, hair and certain gestures...ITS RONSON! For me, his guitar lick inventry had licks that were so unorthodox yet so melodic, and they haunt me, there are licks i use (have nicked) because i just cant get them out of my head, simple and to the Rock N Roll point! I love you Mick! Cheers for the upload!

I was at this show, unfortunatley, i took 2 hits of mescaline so dont remember much. Billed as Ronson & New York Yankques.
the late great Ronno -i was born a mile from his house
RIP Mick, guitar hero, brilliant musician and gentle soul
Thank you for posting. Love to see Mick, anytime all ways !
Seriously. Mick Ronson is tearing it up. He's a freaking ninja.
Myra Travin : Sure is. I have seen many great guitarists but Ronno was the best in my opinion. Saw him a few times and he was simply mesmerising. Never got the credit he deserved.
Who is it whos trying to sing its dreadful!Mick is way to good for these people or he was just being to nice as usuall and wanted to help out.
A true Star is Sham Morris, great song writer , great singer ! You are just not tuned in my friend. Mick not just helping out, they got history together in music . Shame you dont get it ! this is a gem !
Happy years !
My all time favorite guitarist! What a talent. Living in Pennsylvania, I was lucky enough to see Ronson several times when he toured with Ian Hunter. It's too bad there isn't a lot of footage of Ronno. I have a friend that lived in Poughkeepsie, so when they played at the Chance, I was there. Thanks for posting.
Yeah...... Way 2 Early......
great video
david bowie is an asshole
MICK!
Mick and Lou RIP Legends!
Huge talent, will never be forgotten. Inspiration to me, met the man one time, so humble and awesome! Brilliant musician, arranger and person. Rip
hes so beautiful :D RIP :'(
Missed out Lou's awestruck comments on Ronson's production when he listens back to Satelite of
From the above intro - On the CD I have of Transformer Mick Ronson is credited with Production. David's work up to the PinUps release was really grand however I do think he peaked later. The amazing thing about David was that you can determine when he peaked based on what frame of mind you are in at the time. I do not know of any other musicians I could say that about. It is also a shame that in any Mick Ronson blog David takes as much space. Sorry Ronno RIP.
What a great find this is ! Being a massive Sham and Juggler and Spiv UK fan and Glamweazle too, this is a gem amongst gems .Just wish Sham would come and play UK again with spiv .Great Bloke and great songs !! Not much to say about The ronson ,only what a great loss to us all without him here - a true rock star with not enough credit in my eyes.
Love this to death so hard and beautiful more please Ronson rules
He was back in the UK playing last year and paid me a surprise visit with his brother Kenny.
Yes, the Ziggy Stardust album is the only one that feels perfect and complete to me. Hunky Dory is damn good, but there are songs I have to skip on that one. And "Heroes", for me, after the title track I lose interest (and he should never have even MADE that horrible single edit of "Heroes"! Listening to that version is like eating a sandwich, but not being allowed to actually swallow any of it!
ps bowie was good back in 1970s and still is a icon what i wanted to say is would he have been that good without mick check out the lost tape from top of the pops 1973 remember that as if yesterday but cannot even think what i had for breakfast today RIP MICK
there was some sort of memorial thing induction into some sort of hall of fame ,sure some one else knows more but i do know micks wife picked up the award for mick but bowie didnt even go to that !!!!!!!!!!!!
