great update everything is looking great
Thanks for watching. We are heading to Navan to visit the boys today
Thanks for the video. I always enjoy watching your videos...
👍👍
bulkheads like they used to put on box cars.
Great farm market. Everything is fresh and delicious. We just picked up sweet corn for our lunch ! 👍🏼
We got some yesterday as well. Very good corn
Great to see the update. Dad and i drove through there last week . Dad wants to see them two big bins up. He will want to see this vid. Thanks again Dennis
Thanks Mike. I would like to see both bins up as well
Thank you for the video. Being from the south I never think of people still working with Wheat this time of year. Most will start corn harvest the last week if August, if they have a crop left. My estimate is that looking at non-irrigated Corn, folks will have a total loss on 50% of their crop. The Draught in June and early July was extreme here. Thanks for the Video as always.
Not sure where you are But in Southern Ontario. We usually harvest wheat from July 10 to first of August. Soybeans from September 25 to end of October Then we start corn until mid December Our corn has to be dried as it rarely gets below 18%. Moisture. Most will be in low 20’s No irrigation as we have little ground water. Only irrigate vegetable crops Thanks for watching and I love your comments
@@soybeanman9439 I am in Eastern North Carolina. We have plenty of cheap water here for Irrigation. Most rely on rain & Fed Crop Insurance since we normally have over 45 inches a year of rain. Those that irrigate seem to go to drip. Id rather have 10% less acreage with irrigation then rely on Crop Insurance, no profit there. Worst year for corn here I have seen in 63 years. We start planting Corn 1sr 3 weeks of March depending on soil temp. Sept Corn harvest, October Soybeans, November Cotton & Double crop beans in Nov & December. Sweet Potatoes which are big here are harvested Sept & October. We normally have our first frost between Nov 1st & 15. Some will always wait until 2 weeks after first frost to harvest Beans, it certainly helps with green stem which is a issue here.
Nice video for people to see how grain is handled.
Looks good should be a great asset come fall
Always glad to see a young man
Glad to see things running smoother with the new scale.
Excellent progress, thanks Dennis
That expansion and remodel was all Jarod and Craig. I only watched
What a fascinating video, thanks boys and go well.
big yields for us too. chatham field did 125bu/ac, piece close to home home went 148.7 and our trial piece we fall moldboard plowed and then planted into wheat went 173.3bu/ac over the scale at Jackson seeds, our first time bringing wheat there and very happy with the quick friendly service! we also split apply nitrate, 3 applications, 2 growth regulators and 3 fungicide passes.
Excellent synopsis, makes me feel........I'm hardly moving.....good show
Just curious if you guys put in a cover crop after wheat. Glad you got a good weather window for the harvest.
Well it rained too soon to get that done. We finished combining on Monday then baled the straw. We were all day Tuesday putting the straw away. Wr got it all away and under cover Next job would be fertilizer. We like to fertilize everything Then we will plant oats and peas on some Jarod already has a 50 acre piece with clover. This year I am planting summer Treticale on some as well. Some will het disc ripped after fertilizer and levelled ready for corn to be stale seed bed in the Spring
Should’ve got a green buggy Dennis Huron Tractor Exeter had a few in there yard. What model of R series Tractor is that ? Looks a lot like are set up we have a 8/295 R on a nice green buggy
It is a 8320 R. Works good. We plant with that tractor. We have a 8260R that was on the old buggy nut thought this one might be little heavy. Our 8260 is pushed to over 300 hp but lighter tractor The 8320R has front suspension and rides better Not that I ever drive it
What variety Dennis? Looks great, I started the same day, as 40% of the field went down, dried it , 18% down to 16% as kept going, wasn’t gonna stand back up, Pi R40 been a good one. Got er done before beryl came through 👍
Great. I think we ended up drying a good percentage of the wheat We got the big dryer going in Rutherford. She will really dry wheat
R40
wonderful video was some of the best times of my life next to seeing my own kids showing at several county fairs. But the best of all showing at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. My next adventure will be watching the grand children showing this summer. Thanks again Neal
Thanks for watching. 4H is a great way to teach young people and maybe a few older ones learn a bit as well
Great to hear Shorty Hyatt's name. He was a Lambton County great.
Great video. U said it :if u weren’t part of 4H u missed out. Being a city girl I was envious of my country friends who were part of 4H. Can u do other videos of other parts of 4H? Thanks for this video
Very nice
On my farm a seed company plants foundation grain sorghum for the production of hybrid seed. We have about 10 two to ten acre plots of 18 female male sterile and 6 male rows. The plots are in corn fields 1/2 mile to 1 mile across to separate or contain the pollen from reaching another plot. The resultant seed is sent around the world from NW Texas to produce hybrid Sorghum seed for planting.
They do have some great produce. We stop there all the time. We have to support our hard working family farms. Thanks for showing us Dennis.
Thanks for watching. Thanks for comments. As well
Love all your produce.
Wind energy and solar energy are exploited to contribute to environmental protection because wind turbine thermal power plants are very wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Dennis, an excellent addition, great service for the greater SW Ontario agricultural economy

Slugs bad here as well. We did a lot of complaining last year because of no rain. And just opposite this year. You never know what to expect. I guess that’s farming
Wouldn't be any fun if it all went as planned

Thanks for showing everyone how they harvest sod. Very labour intensive work but the result when done is very rewarding. Great family owned business, always there to help
Thanks for watching.
Thank you Dennis for visiting our farm 😊
It was a treat. A type of farming that not everyone thinks of
Spent my high school summers working there. Taught me to work hard. Great family owned business
Maybe that video took you back to your high school days. Thanks for the comment
Great video. We grow sod in western NY. Nice to see how someone else does it
Hey great. Thanks for watching. No one thinks about this type of farming
Great to see another way of farming we never really get to see. Thanks Dennis for taking the time for showing us. Keep up the work.
Great farm. You should go there sometime. Just down the road
@@soybeanman9439 I may just have to do that. A great person to know.
Great video. I didn’t know much about it. Love that slick machine. Thanks.

Another informative video. Now we all know how sod is made ready to go from the landscaper or store.
Hey Bradley thanks for the comment. Glad to see you on the channel

I thought you were out in England or something, off the term Kent in the title - Kentshire is a county in England, in the UK.
This facility is massive. I like that he takes pride in it and takes care of it. I enjoy his videos, humble, down-to-earth, just an all-around nice guy. I feel like I know him.
Great job
Wow quite the video. Mike knows his stuff even if I didn’t understand it. lol. Impressive look to Jackson seeds.

Enjoyed that, Thank you Dennis, I’m a big fan of Conventional Seed. Actually collect the old Southern Field Peas & Heirloom Beans, Christmas Beans etc. love the old Corn seed that is public too. Nice video, never got the email to successfully send but I can still see the videos fine.
Thanks for watching Soybeanman@kent.net
Amazing processes. You also have knowledgeable employees 😊
Thanks for watching Paul. Thanks for the comment
Inr Interesting❤
Nice video, thanks for the update. When it’s done it would be nice to see a tour of the facility, looks like there is a lot to it. 👍
Good idea. We are hoping to have a bit of open house IF we have time before wheat harvest. Have a long way to go yet
Isaak knows his stuff👍
