Thank you 2024 for an awesome year of hikes!
มุมมอง 3519 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
These are my favorite hikes for the year 2024. At 71 years old, I did over 200 miles of hiking in 2024. I’ve hiked Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Montana, and Minnesota. I’m heading for New Mexico this year! If you would like to view all my hiking videos, look up “Billyskunk” on TH-cam. I am so thankful for the opportunity and answered prayers for safety in hiking alone.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park on the west edge of Phoenix has an abundance of trails. I took the combination of the Waddell Trail and Ford Canyon Trail. The first couple of miles are relatively flat, easy going and suitable for mountain biking and horse riding. Once you reach the sign indicating hazardous conditions ahead, the climb into the canyon changes. From this point onward, you will ...
Heart of the Rocks - Echo Canyon Trail - Chiricahua National Monument 11.11.24

Located in the southeastern corner of Arizona, this 12,000-acre park is an amazing otherworldly collection of gravity-defying rock formations. Massive columns, slender spires, non-logical balanced boulders and pinnacles seem endless and rise hundreds of feet, yet no two are the same. This 7.2-mile out-and-back trail near Willcox, Arizona is considered a moderately challenging route. This trail ...

Leprechaun Canyon Utah is located about 28 miles from Hanksville, Utah. This canyon is famous for canyoneering, but it is easy to hike Leprechaun Canyon without climbing gear. The trail ranges from too narrow to fit through, to canyoneering required, to easy hiking. All in all an awesome hike!
Little Wild Horse Canyon Utah 10.14. 2024

One of my favorites, Little Wild Horse has narrow passageways, lots of turns, scalloped walls, and easy rock scrambling. Hiking the narrowest section of Little Wild Horse is tight but doable! Little Wild Horse is an out and back trail, but you can make it a loop by adding on Bell Canyon. The Little Wild Horse - Bell Canyon loop is in the San Rafael Swell. About a 10-minute drive from Goblin Val...

Goblin Valley State Park is located in southeastern Utah. In the Valley of the Goblins, you’ll find hundreds of hoodoos, toadstools, and “Goblins”. This park is a lot of fun to visit this strange and colorful valley. Roam around free with no particular trails to follow. The landscape, covered with sandstone goblins and formations, is often compared to Mars. Once you are down in the valley, it l...

Utah gets high grades for unusual hikes.
Cool. Very nicely done.
Thank you so much! I saw your video on Maui. I lived there for 10 years! Very nice video you made!
this was a good hike - not too strenuous and the slate structures were fascinating.
Nicely done. One of my favorite areas.
Thank you!
La tierra de los Navajos
Love the SW🌵
So far my favorite part of the USA!
@@Billyskunk Thanks for giving your thought...some (maybe most) people dislike the desert scenery, but I enjoy the barrenness, the flatness, the wide open vistas, the solitude, the serenity...the very extreme heat is not my preference, but I am willing to live with it...I'm from the Philly (PA) region, and I expect to move to the SW maybe next year (possibly to do dispersed camping in desert)...blessings...😊
It is so beautiful! I will find time to see this place. Thank you!
It was beautiful and majestic! Thank you for sharing.
We just drove up that a couple of weeks ago. Awesome!
It is so beautiful! I went to Utah in July this year, but I didn't have much time to see all. I visited the Arch and the city. I will fly back there again. So many beautiful places to see. Thank you!
I love Utah! Thank you for your comment.

Thank you! 😊
It's so lush and beautiful.
so lush!!
OMG Bill, that's a beautiful Canyon. I have to do this one. Where is it !?
Hey Steve! Wire Pass is between Page AZ and Kanab Utah. One of my favorites.
Any trouble? I heard a ladder is missing.
The ladder is missing at the 2:08 minute mark. It's about a 7-foot drop which at 70 years old I wasn't going to attempt! So, I back tracked to the beginning of the slot, which everybody does and climb up a rocky hillside and go around that section. It isn't the most fun part but you can do it. When you get back into the slot, I back tracked back to where the ladder was at the 3:42 minute mark. I didn't want to miss anything and I'm glad I did the back track. Based on the reviews, the ladder was washed out a couple years ago.??
Great videos 👍👍👍👍👍 keep going my brother
Thank you, will do!
Amazing atmosphere my friend, video is simply beautiful!

Love Big Beach!! Watching the less-than-smart tourists get swallowed by huge waves, and enjoying the beautiful sights!!
you can get nice rides from the point at 1st entrance if it's a big SW, been there when it was.
@personalthinktank It takes us around 3 hours to snorkel. We follow the shore line in and out of every cove and play at places like the underwater sea arch. It's about a 2 mile long swim. If you google map Makena bay to Makena state park, it will give you a pretty good idea for the start and stop points.
I usued to live in Maui and would bodyboard there everytime, it gets pretty big. But now I live at the Big Island... But surf is still good!
