    Thanks for the info, but i will say i have a slightly different perspective. I havent started in a mall but im about to and have an entire room of inventory, i could pay for storage to hold more inventory for Ebay, FB etc which would be around $70+ a month, while getting a booth here will cost me $140 & 8%. I would rather store my stuff in a booth and get foot traffic while having somewhere to also store inventory and expand. Something to think about! All about perspective, and honestly your crazy rent and percentage does make a difference.

    • @halfacrehomemaker
      @halfacrehomemaker หลายเดือนก่อน

      The rent was crazy high and that was a year ago. They just didn't do enough to promote the mall and get foot traffic to justify the cost. It sounds like your booth price is much more reasonable.

    Many buyers are creatures of habit and will stop by your booth again in about eight weeks. If it looks the same on their next trip they will just walk by. Other dealers are also good buyers. Change regularly and find unique stuff.

    I would rather earn less than minimum wage and keep making it work - pinch pennies be frugal and and just grind HARD than work at McDonald’s or kfc Taco Bell for more money. Money is NOT everything I worked in high paying corporate jobs where my soul was dying the stress was intense and all I could do to soothe that was consume consume consume and burn up my bank account because it was all good I was on buku bucks!! I was much younger and more stupid back then. I ended up with more medical issues from high stress, putting on weight and hair falling out, skin problems and mental health issues staying for years in those jobs. One day I went on a long holiday (didn’t not have any holidays for 5+ years) and after those 6 weeks away I came back and QUIT!! After that I struggled financially to build a small business and came across many many obstacles but kept going. I failed a lot in my business ventures because I didn’t know what I was doing but I LEARNT each time and now I’ve got a business certification behind me, a business mentor who guides me and I have been able to do things RIGHT this time. I have business insurance, a registered business, my socials lined up nicely about to launch TH-cam all my blogs as well as tutorials and sell digital (prints and patterns and templates I’ve made) as well as physical stock (reselling; vintage, upcycled clothing and furniture etc) and now I’m gearing up for my launch and first sales and about to do my tax and finances with my mentor. I DO NOT REGRET my bumpy road to success I knew from the jump it was going to be hard and I knew it was going to test me with all I had. I refuse to give in to working for others - there is ALWAYS a way to survive and thrive and if you have to go back to survival mode vs comfortability and coming home and only having energy to plop down on your sofa and watch Netflix and cry and go to bed unable to sleep because of all the worries about work and the toxic nature of it all the murderous politics and soul destroying environment…if you keep it moving and keep it pushing and just think out the box and try everything you possibly can to get ahead YOU WILL!

    Thanks for your honesty and attention to detail on having a booth at a antique boutique or mall ! I’ve been doing it off and on for a few decades sometimes I make a small profit and sometimes it’s a wash sometimes I have lost money! I also get things extremely reasonable or free ! These items basically pay my overhead aka rent and fees! Long term flipping your booth moving things around constantly bringing in new inventory is key for sales ! I also sell online mostly eBay Facebook market and Craigslist! Posting adds on local online platforms drive people to your booth ! But it all takes time ! I know some of my reseller friends and neighbors in my antique mall differ some do amazing sales and others don’t depending on items that they sell and display! How a booth looks can draw or detract from sales ! It’s all a factor! Definitely not getting rich selling at the antique mall …. I definitely make more of a profit selling directly online or Facebook market place and Craigslist by headaches go alone with that as well ! Shipping or waiting around for a buyer to show up many inquiries taking up my time and patience! But the rush of a sale and making a few bucks on stuff I have stock piled for sale…. Too me it’s worth it! It’s giving me more time at home rather than a regular 9-5 I do agree consistently posting online is more profitable, but I also enjoy the social aspects of going to the antique boutique and meeting other dealers collectors! I started selling on eBay in 1999 when my children were little it’s a great stay at home mom gig ! Pack your booth to the gills! Have lots of smalls to pay the rent and fees and a few larger pieces higher end priced items to pay yourself! Weight the cost of time versus profit one month is just getting started give yourself 6 months to a year before giving up! I just double the size of my booth last week ! Time to price more stuff! Veteran flipper reseller dealer hoarder lol Seller tip flannel and Hawaiian shirts fly out of my booth ! Average price $15-25 each I pay around a buck at thrift store bag days or the goodwill outlet aka “bins” If I sell 10-20 shirts that’s basically pays my rent ! Figure out what sells the best in your area ask other dealers / sellers at your antique mall…. Hey what’s your best seller ask the owner and whoever is working the cash register? What’s hot what’s not? I’m also considering doing a TH-cam channel so whatever you are passionate about do videos on that topic! I got to get back to pricing! Keep selling in some fashion! Consistently is key no matter what we do…. Love it or don’t do it !

    What we’re the symptoms?

    • @halfacrehomemaker
      @halfacrehomemaker ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually, our doctor ordered the test because I was concerned about his growth. He’s gone down to the 2nd percentile for height & weight. Turns out that ingesting gluten when you have Celiac inhibits nutrient absorption. Otherwise, the only possible symptoms could have been that he would complain that his tummy hurt and had headaches sometimes, but I thought that was related to too much milk and dehydration. He’s six years old, for reference.

    Another possibility since you have a constant supply of items would be as a supplier to resellers. Build relationships with sellers on multiple platforms; poshmark, Mercari, eBay, Whatnot, etc. Build relationships in the Antique Mall and sell to them.

    I have a booth at an antique mall and it is a lot slower, but it helps get my things moving. I sell on ebay, and vendor events, and at an antique mall. The vendor events are the best for profit, but the antique booth is nice for consistency. Feb is usually the slowest month. If you are in a vacation town spring and summer really pick up. If you are not, you should still double or triple your sales from sep-dec. But yeah, it's more of a hobby. def not something to make a real income doing.
