Un "must" à avoir.

I don't know why people give Florez such a hard time; his voice is stunning and his technique is very inspiring to young light tenors!

Sorry, but you are partly wrong. Yes, this rep is for him. But I heard him in Paris L'Italiana and he was stunning. So, yes, a light voice, but pa lovely tenore di grazia. There are better recordings of this aria, but I think he sings it very well. No Otello, but certainly "operatic"!

Very true. This recording was from back then when he sang the repertoire that fit his voice, kind of... because he barely has an operatic voice. Now, however, he sings the Duca and... he will sing Arnold in 2013. Sad, but true, and of course mike'd.

This is indeed perfect for his voice and he sings in a good opera style so why whine about other stuff.

When Puccini heard caruso as Rodolfo he said, "who sent you... god?" I imagine Verdi might have said something similar!

"Falstaff" The last of the works written by Verdi...so much elegance and magnificence...

Pity he has to wave his arms like a traffic cop---is that supposed to be 'acting'? Unfortunate that Florez sounds the same in everything he sings---it's a one colour voice. He is due to try out the Duke in Rigoletto, which will prove to be too heavy for him.............unless he has a mike!

Obviously you're wrong, for the Duca is one of his best roles.

Yes, a stunning rendition! I always enjoy Florez. I can also recommend Danil Shtoda's version in the Abbado recording with Bryn Terfel.

Daniil Shtoda's italian isn't very authentic though..
