Why Seniors Can Stop Worrying About Bad Credit
Your comment about hair and fur is wrong. It’s the same thing. It’s Keratin. On a dog it fur on a person its hair, rhino horn is keratin. People are allergic to dander of dogs. It has nothing to do with the “fur” On cats it’s usually the saliva that people are allergic to, cats are always licking themselves.
Thanks for this list. I think a short haired dog may be what I want.
I'm starting to think about retirement living options, but I'm a bit worried about the costs. I've heard that some retirement communities can be quite expensive, and I'm not sure how I'll afford to live comfortably while also generating some income.
That's a common concern. Retirement living costs can vary significantly depending on the type of community and the level of care provided. You need to consider factors like entry fees, monthly maintenance charges, and potential healthcare expenses.
I learned a valuable lesson when I chose my retirement community. I initially focused on the amenities, but I soon realized that the financial aspects were equally important. I chose a community with a strong financial plan, a well-maintained infrastructure, and opportunities to generate income. I'm thrilled to be just 5% shy of my $3.4 million retirement goal, thanks to savvy investments made since rebuilding my finances
Thanks for sharing your experience! I've been managing my portfolio myself, but I'm starting to feel overwhelmed. Do you have any recommendations for a good financial advisor? I could really use some professional guidance.
My financial advisor, a highly regarded CFA named Peter Dewitt Martin specializes in retirement planning and has extensive knowledge of retirement communities. He can help you analyze your financial situation, explore different living options, and develop a plan to ensure your financial security in retirement. I highly recommend contacting him for a free consultation.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I really needed it. I looked him up on Google and explored his website; he has an impressive background in investments. I've sent him an email, and I hope to hear back from him soon
I'm 67 I have a box.Or improbably will not get another dog unless it's a little one.And I cannot afford a dog that needs to have its hair trimmed every three months or so
🏳🌈
I'm a senior and have a great dane all these small dogs are to yippy for me!! These are all small dogs not medium or large good greif!! If trained a great dane is very gentle ❤ I would not have another breed!!!
way you didn't mention Lhasa Apso 😕
stuffed animals aren't dogs
💕💞 💕SOMETIMES, I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR MY DOG 🐕🐶🐕🐶🐕🐶... P.S: SINCE EARLIER YEAR: 2000...☮ 🙏😌⛩
What about dachshunds?
We are in our early 80’s. We have always adopted from a golden retriever rescue program. This year, after our last golden died a year ago, we went to our local humane society and found a black lab/great Pyrenees mix. What a sweetheart! She’s four and has been with us now for three months. Everyone we know loves her sweet, chill personality.
I have a Morkie and he's so cute. I'm a senior citizen and retired, so he was a great choice. ❤❤
65 and still going Border-Collie strong and how are those "breeds4oldies" going to keep up with the horse? TCh GO AWAY
I hope they say teddy bear dog because I have one he's real cute and his name is Smokey!😍🐕
I am on my third pom, all of which were throwbacks which means they are larger than the 5-7 lb. show dog. Poms were originally about 30 lbs and were bred to pull small sleds. My avatar is my second pom who was a full throwback at 24 lbs. What I love about poms is their personalities. They are very independent free thinkers who are extremely intelligent in the dog world. Their coats can be a pain to maintain, but that is the tradeoff for the pom personality.
Tiny dogs that are high maintenance. Looking for protection and low maintenance. Pitty sounds good to me.
There’s certainly no shortage of small white dogs in the world. 😁
English Bulldogs were specifically bred for apartments and a low activity lifestyle. They should be on this list instead of one of your super nervous dogs.
That are all high maintenance dogs and not suitable for older people.
Do they taste good when Spit-Roasted.
Go to the shelter - get a senior. 😊
I think that Chihuahuas, poodles, and dachshund’s should be on the list.
I’ve been looking into retirement communities that use golf carts as the main mode of transportation. It sounds like such a fun and convenient way to get around!
Absolutely! A lot of those communities are designed for active seniors. The golf carts are perfect for quick trips to the clubhouse, grocery store, or even just visiting neighbors. It’s such a social lifestyle.
I’ve heard some of those places even have dedicated paths for the carts, so you don’t have to worry about traffic. It sounds ideal if you want a slower-paced, community-oriented environment.
It does sound great, especially for people who want to enjoy retirement to the fullest. On that note, I’ve been working with James Brendan McCall , my financial advisor, to make sure I can afford a community like that. He’s been amazing at helping me structure my finances to match my retirement goals.
Oh, I’ve heard of him! Someone I know worked with him and said he made a huge difference in their financial planning. If I wanted to contact him, would I just look him up online?
Yes, you can just Google his name, “Joseph Nick Cahill.” That’s how I found him, and I’ve been impressed ever since. He helped me understand the costs of retirement communities and even set up a plan to manage my equity from my home sale. His advice has been invaluable.
Most of the dogs on this list have many health issues that require expensive surgeries to fix. They're also very yappy. I'll stick with my large dog breeds.
Not a good selection for seniors living in coyote-dense areas. I'm not sure if even a corgi could face off one of his bad country cousins, something I always worry about in my rural home. I'm still veering towards another heeler, light enough for me to lift up by a harness, but tough.
agree with the concern in rural areas. We often have a pack of coyotes at the bottom of our 6A in the mountains, so pets are inside at dusk.. I'm 79 and have a 2 yr lab...but then I'm very outdoorsy and active and she helps motivate me. I wouldn't try to carry her except in extreme emergency (40-50# is my normal limit and she is 60#) but I can pretty much point to anything and say "up" and she jumps.
Pugs are great for seniors: eat, get petted and sleep. No one loves harder than pugs.
People always leave out Chihuahuas but they're SUPER DUPER fabulous. I'm disabled and older. I socialized every Chi I've ever owned and taught them not to bark much (unless it's an alert). My goodness people sure are afraid of this wonderful breed.
DOGS ARE A GIFT FROM GOD, THERE IS A REASON THEY ARE CALLED MANS BEST FRIEND.
Excuse me, proper pronunciation is SHEED ZU!
My 78 year old mother has two yorkies and she loves them. ❤
Bichon frise Shih Tzus Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Pembroke Welsh Corgis Basset Hounds Maltese Pomeranians Yorkshire Terriers Cocker Spaniels Havanese
You have missed out on the Lhasa Apso. A great little dog. A lion of courage, great little personality, and a really people loving dog.
Poodles. They become your child. These dogs are so loving, extremely intelligent and perfectly attuned to their owner. They make ideal pets for older people. I wouldn't recommend Yorkies. We had two. They were too fast for us. We have a sweet little miniature sausage dog and a German shepherd, who is a hilarious dog, and who entertains us all day long. Both were rescues.
Basset hound is no dog for a senior , dogs need a lot of exercise. What a stupid video
Whenever I see a Corgy, I think of Queen Elisabeth ❤
Little Dogs for seniors
Of the 10 listed, which would you consider the number 1 for seniors?
I’ve chosen petit brabancon. It’s small dog with no grooming required. Very bounded to owner, great personality. Almost all breeds in video have long hair that requires quite expensive grooming which is not always affordable for seniors
Basset is not the best choice for seniors at all. They are quite heavy, stubborn, not really easy to manage.
I'm so surprised neither whippets nor greyhounds have made it to your list. As a senior whippet owner they are the easiest and most loyal of breeds. Absolute couch potatoes, that enjoy a short walk and occasional off leash run. Their fine coats rarely need any attention and they have no nasty doggy smell. Greyhounds are just bigger versions of whippets. Italian greyhounds are also terrific smaller scale versions, but are more prone to injury than whippets and greyhounds. My whippet is light enough for me to lift into the car, should I ever need to. Indeed it seems all the dogs on your list have high maintenance coats, though all are terrific little dogs. My grandmother also did very well with her chihuaha, which was utterly devoted to her, whilst my dad had a whippet and Jack Russell terrier into his mid 90s.
You said top 10 breeds, but you named them out of order. Why not go from 10 to 1 or 1 to 10? They are all beautiful.
I adopted my dog 18.8 months ago. In other words, she has a now 19! She is still going strong amazingly. She will go before I will. Of If I get another dog, I will make sure someone close in my life, who would know her will adopt her if I go before my new dog.
Seniors should consider older dogs too..from a breeder or adopting .they are not going to be al crazy like puppies
Adopt a dog.
I ´m 78 and own my third Malinois… 3hours of exercise daily… best breed ever 😎🐕
Im almost 70, have two vintage felines, live in a log cabin in rural Maine. I have some mobility challenges from a 2021 stroke. Dealing with post election anxiety and depression, my PCP recommended adding a dog to our family. I really wanted your suggestions to include a Jack Russell. I'd like to adopt a smaller dog with a short coat. Watching all our local shelter websites...🤞🙏🐕
I love my Pomeranians! Best dogs ever!❤
Cavachons are great dogs. They should be on this list
You didn't mention my favorite dog and one of the worst dogs for seniors (actually for most people). I adore them, but will never own one myself. And that is the Belgian Malinois.
Got to love a corgi!
