I wish they had finished off the series by revealing that Klink was indeed the British super-spy Nimrod and had been assisting the Allies all along.
Love how he specifies that his dad was a very good conductor ... as if it takes special talent to do it
He portrayed Kink as a bad violinist, but he was actually a classically trained violinist. You have to be good to pretend to play so bad.
A concentration camp. Poor Pat Sajak.
Married to a wonderful actress Kim Hamilton
Great actor
Requiescant in Pace
Watched him on Perry Mason. Good actor
He said he was 2 inches tall when he and his family fled Nazi Germany. By my math he would’ve been 15 years old in 1935, not only not a child but at 15 was probably a member of the Hitler Youth at some point and definitely would have been drafted into the German Army by the time the War broke out in 1939. It’s doubtful he would’ve survived that terrible war and he must’ve lost many of his childhood friends in World War Two.
*People forget how good of an interviewer Pat Sajak was*
He was the greatest....
Pat was probably the closest to Carson in terms of his manner. Wish he would have continued.
Heard a story don't know if its true or not but before Werner Klemperer took this role he made it perfectly clear to the people in charge the only way he would play this character was if he was at all times bumbling and silly and never to be taken seriously as a German Colonel in charge of a POW Camp because of his dislike or hatred of the Nazis as he and his Jewish Family were made to flee Germany back in 1935 because of the hatred Nazis had toward Jewish people. Wonderful actor and seemed like a very nice person.
So Sajak said, "We are not Indian givers". I bet he wishes he could take that back. After all America took from the native Americans, NOT a good thing to say LOL 🤐
65 to 71.
This is why Pat's show failed. Nobody booked this guy. LOL. ROFL.
Werner klemperer narrated the finest symphony concerts, from Copland's Lincoln Portrait to Prokoviev's Peter And The Wolf, which I will cherish until my breath goes away.
He and John Bonner made the show !!
Colonel Hoe-gan!"
Watching it now on August 12, 2024, Adelaide, South Australia.
I often wish that they did a hidden finale and had it as a tv movie. Would’ve been interesting to see if hogan would’ve taken Klink and Schultz to England or left them.
Like Benny he was talented at playing a "bad" violin 🎻!!😆🤓😎✌🏼🎻
Love Jackie. He is missed
Loved Jackie Gleason. Connie Francis was a big fan and sang "Melancholy Seranade" on of her albums
It's odd of her to say "all the years she's done The Honeymooners with him🤔
I have many heroes in life from the worlds of music , art , sport ,film etc . But the king of them all by a country mile is 'The Great One ' ... Mr Jackie Gleason ! To achieve all of his brilliant successes so easily without rehearsal in most cases , is in my book extra ,extra super special ! A true American hero who if there was an Oscar given out for facial acting reactions Jackie would have had a living room full of them . The man was majestic in all of his work projects . Put it on Norton ..... let's go !
I remember being in bed and my mother out in the living room laughing hysterically, she was watching The Honeymooners !
Hes the only celebrity I cried at hearing of his death and then years later George Harrison ❤
"Indian givers"??? I hate that term. Big mistake Sajak. I hope you know better now
Dumb thing to cry about
@@jadensantiago5583If you think that then your intelligence level can't be too high. Go get a proper education THEN come back and post, ok?
@@jadensantiago5583 And, for the record "Indian Givers" is about as racist term as you can get. If you can't "see" this then YOU have serious problem, and aside from a proper education should seek help immediately
@@jadensantiago5583 It's VERY racist and only a fool would say that
I luved him in Gigot. He made me laugh and cry.
What a great guy.
My grandparents and mother lived down the street Chauncy St. from Jackie. It was mostly an Irish neighborhood and my family is Irish Brennan. I have enjoyed watching Jackie in all his shows and still do. He is deeply missed, God rest his soul.
Save Me A Stool Next To You Jackie ❤
Werner Klemperer was awesome. What a great guy.
A long time ago when I was a little boy I used to watch and enjoy The Jackie Gleason Show-I knew it before I knew The Honeymooners-But I didn't like the music in the beginning and in the end of The Jackie Gleason Show-It was TOO SAD-Why did Jackie Gleason choose or permit such a sad music for his very nice TV,and variety show?😭
Born in Germany, fought in WW2 for USA. Respect
He seems to have a rare commodity in the acting world; honesty and humility
I have vague memories of my dad watching The Jackie Gleason Show but I have sharper memories of watching the Honey Mooners. Dad loved that show bc it was about the average working man himself my dad was a factory worker for 25 years when there were factories here in the States. He also appreciated the slapstick humor. I do remember the June Taylor Dancers & their dance routines. I never knew JG had an orchestra & recordings. He had a huge talent. RIP 💔 to all the deceased cast members & a thank you to Jackie for making my dad laugh alittle!!!!!! 😊 ty.
❤ rest in peace you were loved by your fans
I didn,t do it but he spent a lot of time at the Marina I worked at in Georgetown SC,the story I head from my dock master was great.David Rowe could write a book on the clelebries he hosted on the IC W in Georgetown SC.
GREAT SHOW,GREAT ACTOR!!!!!!!!!!
0:42 When I get done with you, there's gonna be piccalilli all over Bensonhurst!
I loved Hogan's Heroes. Perfect cast. 1972, I was still a toddler when it ended. But I became a fan by watching the reruns.
When???????????????????????????????????
The Honeymooners, The Toy, The Hustler, Nothing in Common, All 3 Smokey & The Bandits... Loved them all! Jackie was and still is one of my favorite TV/Movie figures of all time. RIP #honeymoonersfan4life 🌕
When Hollywood was great........
Estoy viendo los heroes de HOGAN , Y SI pudieran doblarlo al ESPAÑOL para el publico de habla HISPANA se los agradesco, muchas Gracias.
Why is the term "Indian giver" used? They weren't the ones who gave something and took it back.
Most of the German officers in the show were Jewish, and loved being able to make their characters look like idiots.
Class act. Wonderful man. Terribly missed.
