Ok. My monstera had a few pests, I treated it, a few times, and I only see tiny little “scale” almost every day. I rub them off with alcohol, but they pop back up almost every day. I already changed the soil, and have not seen an adult yet. Where else could these tiny ones be coming from? Could I be dealing with something else?

Apparently, this place has changed dramatically for the worse since this review. I will never stay at an all-inclusive again because of the Riu Jalisco. I stayed in October and I'm still dealing with Gastrointestinal issues from the food poisoning at this hotel. My entire party was bedridden after eating at this resort. Do NOT stay here, you will regret it!!

Just check the sunwings deal, I think right now they have very good deal on Riu Jalisco. If you have a chance and tight budget, righ now they have good deal on Riu Palace Cabos as well. I've been to Riu Cabos, they have one of the best cafe view of all Riu. Food is superb. Good luck guys.

My lipstick plant cutting is getting root rot in the water in just a few days, do you change out the water with rooting hormone regularly??

I found out that growing indoor plants with plastic pots or plastic cups are the best. Because you can gently press the plastic pots or cups for removing the perlite or whatever using if you want to take the plant out, so you won't accidentally "break" the plant.

I inherited a pearls and jade from a coworker, and I can see 3 branches where cuttings were taken. All 3 are no longer growing ;/

After allowing the roots to grow in water I planted them but they got really weak and fragile. I did use soil with water and miracle grow though. Not sure if I am only supposed to use water and soil only

I have traveled to many Riu Resorts over the years. We have been to Costa Rica, Cancun (several times), Cabo San Lucas (several times) and have always thought Riu offers great value and great family vacations. In December of 2023 we traveled to the Riu Jalisco in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and had the worst experience ever. I was traveling with all my family of 16 persons to celebrate our first Christmas after losing our mother in April. Puerto Vallarta was one of her favorite places to travel and since she wasn't with us this Christmas we thought it would be a great place to visit. My daughter also invited her boyfriend along and he arrived on December 26th. It was his first time at Riu and his first time in Mexico. He and I were having some drinks at the bar and apparently he may have drank too much. A little after midnight we separated as he went to his room and I went to mine and at about 4am I found out that he had been arrested. The hotel staff called the police on him for being intoxicated. Puerto Vallarta touts how important their tourist industry is to the local economy and how they take care of tourists. In this case they (the police or the hotel security) could have escorted him back to his room rather than having him arrested. In my opinion the hotel and the bartenders should have some responsibility by refusing to serve persons that they identify as being over intoxicated, this did not happen.

Also he was severely beaten and we are not sure who did it. The hotel has cameras in the lobby and also told me that they had an internal written report, neither of which they would share with us.

Then they refused to let my daughters boyfriend back into the resort so they needed to go find a new hotel costing $$$ and would not give a refund on the hotel room.

I can also tell you that we chose this resort because they have a "kids club". The kids club is a joke compared to other all inclusive resorts we have been to. Last year we went to Paradisus in Playa del Carmen where they had a great kids club and my grandkids really enjoyed it. The Riu Jalisco "entertains" the kids in the morning for 1 hour by putting them in a room coloring. They also close the kids club whenever they feel like it telling the parents to pick them up earlier and one day they didn't open at all.

SAND FLEAS or BED BUGS!!! We came back with many many bites on us and while we are not certain what bit us but it was either sand fleas or bed bugs. We should have checked the room more closely to identify if there were bed bugs.

WORST VACATION EVER!!!

I just loss my Huge Monstera last night... The temp dropped down to 25° here in Atlanta. All of the leaves were frozen. Brought it inside and they are all wilted. 😢 heart broken. Some of my leaves were 13" in diameter with very long nodes in just 2 years. Alot of time and money gone.

I just bought one an i lover. Got it for 7 dollars. On the discount shelf an was nothing wrong with it.

Video was helpful . We stayed at the Jalisco July 2023 . It was our 3rd stay at a RIU . Place was decent, not top of the line, but if that's what you're looking for you should book at their Palace. Jalisco seems to be a place for the locals to stay, not a lot of foreign people . Overall it's ok

How is the hot tubs? And is the pool cold? Cam kids go in the hot tub?

Was there April/23 horrible experience food poisoning the nights were like your in hell with screaming locals and techno music..the sports bar is a joke dirty cutlery never recommend this hell hole
