Most line dances played at the country bars in Southern California are no longer to country music. Only the partner dances are still done to country music (2-step, west coast swing, country swing). There are usually multiple dances with the same names. The older the dance, the more likely they are to be played to different songs from the original.

The 40 winners get to join the Stagecoach Dance Team, which performs in the Honky Tonk Stage during Stagecoach. @@mfan2492 Both! But the majority knew about the contest beforehand and practiced for it. The dates, venues, and dances were posted 6 weeks before the first contest. There are usually 11 contests to join the Stagecoach Dance Team every year.
