Well, I am Italian and I have a possible explanation on why Italians feel so much passionate about our anthem; the reason is that we are actually a divided country, north argue with south, the Islands want to be more independent and other reasons. Then the magic happen... The national anthem, the Italians are ready to die for their country. The national anthem is there to remind the italians that others Italians lost their lives in the past to allow them to sing the anthem with freedom and as a unified country.
Wonder if they saw Charles Leclerc win Monaco too?

That's beautiful to read. As an Italian i am in LOVE with my country and my culture. And this video shows the real character of the Itlaian people, fiery, energetic, informal, carefree. But this culture is always more and more in danger, from a more and more materialistic, grey and souless consumer society, that the whole western world has adopted. In all of Europe culture gets forgotten, mass media control us, and capital enslaves us. this is happening all over the west and we must STOP IT.

As an Italian born in Italy and now living in USA I can tell you part of it (apart from the actual composition) is the fact that it’s not heard every day so it’s more of a special occasion like when national team plays. In USA anthem is played every hour so it loses value in my opinion
