2007 Lincoln Navigator All-Wheel Tranny Fluid Change Noted Problems and Solutions (See Text!!)
มุมมอง 27K6 ปีที่แล้ว
So I apologize ahead of time for the poor videomanship but it was as good as I could do on the fly... This text is for clarification because I did miss speak a few times during the video. Again this video is NOT a "how to" but tips for resolving problems during a 2007 Lincoln Navigator all wheel drive 7L74 7000 Series Transmission fluid filter change. There are other videos out there for fluid ...
lol 😂
There’s a female allen screw on the side of the tranny just above the pan that is where you’re supposed to fill it from
This is entirely ridiculous 😂
Bro there is a dip stick on pass side up on top of trans just like expedition
Does the Automatic Transmission comes with a dipstick???😮 i could be wrong because one time i had to take the oil shop and they told me that dipstick was missing. But i'm trying to finding that dipstick.
I really hope people don't watch this video and go take there bumpers off. This video is completely wrong!!! There is a allen head bolt on the side of the transmission that is where you fill and check your transmission fluid.
Hey bro, I'm having trouble with this thing. Was wondering if you could help me out?
What's your problem?
@@nicholasturk2001 Hooked everything up, bypass has power, remotes do not work
@@luamayav are you using the OEM key fobs or the ones that come with the starter?
I used the OEM remotes
@@nicholasturk2001 come with the starter! Is there a trick on how to program these things?
Thanks for the video, but I think you should correct it. There is a fill plug at 1 minute in your video.
My problem is my 02navigator goes into gear but won't move any suggestions
Hey are the same set up on a 2008 navigator
You didn't need to do all that T-Tube to add fluid.
Is there a way to do it? Can’t really figure it out yet lol
Dude - you made things so complicated - there is a plug at side of tranny - check service manuals lol
Can you just add fluids through the dip stick hole
It's a sealed transmission...no dipstick ...
Hey bro that for the video. I looked up the service manual. There's a plug on the back passenger side you can check the level. It should be full and come out of that plug. Thanks!
So, you are saying to add transmission fluid until it drips from that rear passenger plug?
@@TennySpot yes after it's warm and driven and level. Take it out of the pan first then refill with same amount in that hole then drive and recheck. Use a electric fluid pump much easier.
@@vamosajugarpelota I really appreciate it. My transmission was leaking from the bulk head seal, so I didn't have a way or measuring how much to put back. Thanks again
@@TennySpot np let me know if u need more advice. Merry Christmas God bless.
@@vamosajugarpelota welllll, im actually doing the job now. I jist removed that he bolt and almost 10 quarts just came out. My question is, if thatvmuch jus came out, how will I be able to refill it from that same location? Or do I need to refill it froma higher point on the driver side where the lines go into the transmission...also, I can find the torque all day long, but I can find the torque sequence
Dude that was awesome! I sent about 2 hours looking at BS videos all saying the same thing you noted. You're the only one who actually addressed the issue. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
You're welcome bro. It was my pleasure!
Thanks, Nicholas! These newer vehicles are so blasted hard to work on that a lot of owners just don't maintain them or they take them to the dealer. This is 2020 and I just got a 2007 Navigator with the 6R75 Trans. for the wife. We can't afford today's new cars. I ended up getting halfway screwed, but making the best of it. "AS IS - NO WARRANTY" means just that. Buyer Beware. I guess the AWD version uses the 7 speed trans. Mine is a 4WD, so it's different. More factors to cause confusion.
You're welcome. It was my pleasure!
ZF6 trans
@@brentbradley6711 ; Thanks!
My dad use two have an 08 Navigator! I miss it! Now he has a 14 Navigator that I also love!
Looking at some other vids the refill hole is the round bolt with the allen wrench center (you show it at 0:58 in the above video.). Use an allen wrench to remove, it's full when fluid starts leaking out.
On the 6R75, there's a 3/4" hex hollow bolt head on the flange that the pan bolts to on the front passenger side of the trans. The tall bolt head is hollow and houses the top of the dip stick. Another wonderful Ford design arrangement. Fill and removal of the fluid is accomplished through this opening.
Are you supposed to run the car for 10 minutes, then check?
How come you tapped into the line instead of pumping it into the fill hole? Any advantage?
As I stated in the video, in the all wheel drive transmission there is no fill plug. The only way to refill the transmission with fluid is by doing a flush. The way Lincoln / Ford does a flush is by the cooler lines. You can pay them to do it, or you can do it yourself as I demonstrated in the video.
@@nicholasturk2001 its in the video at :58 seconds ...right above the pan between the 2 pan bolts right behind the crossmember. Im not trying to be a jerk, im just letting you know so it is easier next time.
@@nicholasturk2001 Well hey man thanks for posting this other way of doing the refill.
@@digitalme4404 my pleasure! 👍
@@cesarepassarelli1106 thanks Cesare. Glad I read the posts.
Mine transmissions oil looked very black , i got scared and thought i was doing it wrong
Black wow...is this the first time the truck has had a fluid change? After how many miles? Do you use it for towing regularly? Super dark fluid is usually an indicator of overheating.
Does this comes with the factory alarm? Or its a aftermarket starter?
This is an after market remote start system I installed from My Push Cart (MPC.com) for an 07' Navi. It utilizes your factory fob, pressing the lock button 3 times to initiate a remote start (as I demonstrated in the video.) The video shows me demonstrating the features of the starter unit and some safety interlocks to my brother. Also if the vehicle is already running....you can press the fob lock button 3 times, remove the key from the ignition, and the vehicle will remain running until the brake pedal is depressed [kinda hard to steal a car/take it out of park without using the brakes! ;) ] A cool feature for quick runs in to the store/your home while your car is running unattended.
Where do you get it from..??
@@nicholasturk2001 nice I like it 👌 please let us know where to buy it and how to install it 😀. If it works I will send you $$ just give a account number for deposit
