The British just have such a beautiful interpretation of Math Rock. I love when this genre is story-centered. Don't get me wrong, I love some crazy Hella type music every once in a while, but this music, Delta Sleep, TTNG, Chon that simultaneously makes complex riffs and completely unique leads along side some beautiful lyrics. Perfect mix
(I mean, Chon is from Cali but yeah I agree!)

Ignorant question here but is the The Hotel Year and The Hotelier, the same band? I just recently heard the song Discomfort Reviseted on a local radio station and became obsessed with it. Read a comment about this song making more sense, and well... here I am
Not to worry, it's a common question. The Hotel Year and The Hotelier are actually the same band - they originally formed as The Hotel Year in 2009 and later changed their name to The Hotelier in 2013. "Discomfort Revisited" is indeed by The Hotelier. I'm glad you enjoyed it

yes i believe it is a different singer. i think it’s one of the guitarists. you can hear the same singer at the start of “lovely hearts club” from their first full length. having seen many of their live performances on youtube, both guitarists help out with the vocals when needed, as evident on songs like “soft animal” from their third album, where both guitarists sing the “fawn, doe, light snow” parts behind christian holden’s main vocals. i haven’t been able to narrow down exactly which member of the band it is that sings these specific vocal parts on this song and also on lonely hearts club, sorry. hope this helped.
@@kevinruiz6618 i’ve since learned that the other singer’s name was zack shaw, he was a guitarist and co-lead vocalist and left sometime around when they started making home, like noplace is there
