Its 15 minutes to remove the power steering unit and then the part comes out very easily. 3 13mm bolts, 1 10mm bolt, 1 10mm nut, two fluid lines, and two electrical connections. Careful to not spill PS fluid onto the alternator when you remove the high pressure line.

Worked FLAWLESSLY for my United States 2010 ML350 Bluetec, including the fantastic pro tip on keeping a nut in a socket with a piece of paper. They dont put the dip stick anymore because there is an overflow tank next to the transmission fluid drain. Open the overflow, the fluid that comes out is the extra transmission fluid you don't need. Good video by the way.

Great video, I am up for the same task on my 14 GL450 this weekend. After chain change, is there any play when turning the shafts by hand? I do have noticeable play, and when I go in and out of grear, there is screehort screeching sound. No jump yet.

Pliers are cheap and safer than screw drivers to remove those springs, very danger at 8:35. also, eyes protection is a must, your Eyes has more value that all the money you will make your entire life.
