Hand Cut Joinery // Mini Figure Wall Display
It had been awhile since I had completed a project with hand cut joinery, so decided to go all out with hand cut dovetails and mortise and tenon joinery for this walnut wall mounted mini figure display. Lots of firsts and lots of mistakes...

Thank you, this looks great for space saving and mobility in a small garage workshop. Will be building this soon!!
Thanks and good luck!
Good for you. But can you attach a vacuum to a regular circular saw? The money you've saved is pointless once you inhale some shit
Yeah, a mask will have to do for now.
Great video. Just wondering about the strength of glue and brads on the flip tops. That’s a lot of weight sagging with the planer upside down. Maybe countersunk screws ?
The last piece is the four lag screws holding the planer on. Those lag screws are into the 2x4 frame doing the real work , the plywood isn't really holding anything.
One day you will buy a tracksaw and see what you've been missing.
You're probably right... :)
My uncle making me shit in his shop is what got me into the trades
Could be worse
There is no reason why you can’t save up and buy a tracksaw
True, but have other priorities.
Nice work
Thanks!
Why would you need a track saw if you have a table saw 🤔
For first cuts on 4x8 sheet, or the inlays I am about to do for some t track.
Dude, no man needs an excuse for extra tools. Now give a man an excuse and he'll do whatever he needs to in order to get said tool, including making it as you can see
For sure
Try cross cutting a 4x8 sheet of 3/4 plus in half on a table saw. Unless you have the room and a large saw fence that goes to 48" . This is much simpler.
For sure!
Awesome, pls make me one.
Thanks!
This is why you need a drill press for Forstner bit drilling.
It would have been helpful.
Found you on tiktok, a new subscriber.
Welcome!
great job looks well tidy
Thanks!
Chiseling pine is a I sure hope it doesn’t break Nice build. Showing mistakes and do overs was nice so many vids come out perfectly and we know that’s not always the truth 😊. I would definitely use that box
Thanks!
Try and use off-cuts to match grain pattern. Really hides and patches well
@@checkmyvevo good call, will have too next time, because we all know their will be a next time. :)
Why do you have to slot out t tracks. Why can’t you just drill them in
To get a flush surface, otherwise, the piece is going to sit unstable on top of the sled when not using clamps.
For your teey-tiny bench edge Moxon vice, I would suggest a deeper footprint(bench front edge rearward) of about a foot for increased stability. Maybe a set of regular "C"-clamps would give greater clearance instead of those large-head bar clamps. Cheers.
Nice thought!
These plans are great! What would make them better is if there were a purchase list for the lumber. I could do the math but the purpose of a plan like this is to eliminate most if not all the guess work. Not a complaint at all , just something to help sell your ideas. Thanx for the freebie though, will be building this in the morning. 😎
Hey Charles, thanks for the suggestion! Will see about that for some future updates. Let me know how the build goes!
Done ! Looks great. I would add to your list of changes to this plan-1)5/16x3.5” bolts are to long, table is 3”thick. 2)only 2 side boards are needed not 3. 3) most important change is to add the assigned letters for each corresponding board into the illustration. Having the ability to see the letter in the picture helps with part location for those who learn differently. I have a learning disability and couldn’t easily understand until I made those adjustments on paper. This is key to get more of these plans sold. Please understand I’m only trying to be helpful in my criticism. For me not having to do the extra work is the reason I myself buy plans. Thanx again was fun and really like my new stand.
Love it! You're my favorite woodworker to watch, no $10,000 pieces of machinery or 50 years of experience that never makes mistakes. Just a dude doing what he loves, showing his mistakes, learning by doing and taking us along for the ride! Appreciate you and look forward to every one of your videos!
Thanks, that means a lot!
Amazing quality for such simple holder!
Thanks!
Hey boss are you able to make your workbench more heavy somehow? Then your saw will be more effective. Looks like fun :D Nice work! You were able to repair those broken spots very well. It turned out great! I like the corners where the dovetails are darker on one side.
You noticed that... :) I tried adding weight but the folding table is just too flimsy. I am going to build a full workbench in a few months to solve that once and for all!
It looks good. In picking boards, I would not have thought about figure affecting joinery, either. Good job repairing it. Thanks for sharing.
@johnford7847 Yeah, one of those learn by doing mistakes. :)
Brother, turn the table saw off and let the blade stop before grabbing that scrap. I became far too comfortable using mine through the decades and finally ran my left thumb through it. I can no longer feel the end of my thumb but it is still there, thankfully.
Good call, need to keep vigilante about table saw safety.
Complacency is when injury happens. Forman for my last company lost 3 fingers putting a piece back down that kicked up.
this happened to me once
and you survived!
Excellent work! 👍👍👍
Thanks!
What are you doing, step stool?
Haha
Why do you want my credit card if you are giving away the plans?
If you put in the code, no credit card is required.
That didn’t work
Hey Rob, shoot me an email at josh@stumblingbearwoodcraft.com.
I have a Delta it does the samething.
one of those problems only money seems to solve...
Fingers!!! Omg 😮
Yes, I have fingers...
How you like your Kobalt miter saw?
It takes alot of work to get and keep the fence perpendicular to the blade as it does occasionally move. Won't buy another one.
wizard
For sure :)
This has got to be very heavy. For me, if it was wide enough, in place of the legs, I would make it some 2x material lengthwise to fit in some saw horses. That way, you do not need a table to set it on.
It not light :) and yeah, that would work too!
Good job!
Thanks!
Criminally underviewed channel. Could I ask for a video about your exterior work table?
Thanks, you can see more about it here: th-cam.com/video/ACokyS5kqhI/w-d-xo.html
To be honest, I've never seen before such simple vise, thank you man,Jesus bless you ,and all of you guys beautiful work you made great.
Thanks!
This was a great project!! New subscriber here! Thanks for the free set of plans! I chose the plans for this build. If I wanted to make it hold more, I’m assuming I could simply cut longer pieces for the verticals and additional pieces for the horizontal supports
@mrmyblessednest1722 thanks and yes! Let me know how it goes!
Knit your brads for more strength. Rookie 😂
@@curthutchings511 knit?
That's such a cool idea for a combo toolbench! The idea of hiding the plywood edges with grooves is also really nice, time to upgrade my builds 👍
Glad you like it!
Sick!
Thanks!
Some great kit there but wow that workbench has a wobble 😂
Oh yeah, replacing that folding table with something more sturdy is a high priority. :)
Nice work and great, concise narration. Well done.
Thanks!

Great looking build, its batter not seeing screws all over the place looks better
