Frozen beautiful thanks for show
Yay~ Nice 👍
Did they update them for 2025?
Hi, for someone not ski at all in park or freestyle, just hard carving but like safest binding, this will still best choice? Thanks
Hey man, you should check out a company called kneebindings (I'm not affiliated with them in any way), they have a better lateral release then pivots. I'm not a bindings tech or expert so do your own research but I hear really good things about them.
Looks like a lot of fun in the powder looks deep. I'm down here central Oregon and I'm a roofer by trade I do a lot of work at Mount Bachelor and they opened early they have got a lot of snow. Happy Thanksgiving
Happy thanksgiving too! And sick, I see everyone in Utah getting chest deep today and I’m so jellous lol.
Where?
Very good video ! For the front binding, the screws are compatible with insert or not ?
Why do you think the Griffon doesn‘t work with GripWalk?
Old Griffons didnt work with GripWalk. New are totally fine
@@Ryan06505 Thanks for answer! I for myself have an old Tour F10 which seems to have the same front as Griffon. Now I bought new gripwalk boots. I asked a lot of people, shops and Marker themselves. Nobody gave me a concrete answer. Meanwhile I have mounted the new boots but I m not yet sure if it works as it should. Do you have a hint?
I’m really looking to buy them because they are rare but idk from where I can find them
You can find used pairs from Facebook marketplace and eBay and elsewhere but just be careful and make sure they’re still usable. If the toe and heel pieces that connect to the binding are too worn or they could be unsafe and release too easy. Also K2 currently makes the same boot design under their name called fle3x or something like that.
My Market Griffons lasted 14 years and never broke. Only reason I changed was cause I got boots that had grip walk. I bought two more for my boots. Also I'm an expert skier 17 years skiing and I love Griffins.
Gotta have a pair in the ski quiver!
Just went through the same thing- upgraded my kit this year with new boots and another pair of skis. Didnt want to ditch my 2009 Mantras so I swapped out the 14 y/o griffons with new griffons this week to accommodate the gripwalk and give me some piece of mind on binding tech.
Skiing back Country is cool, until it ain’t….
Mostly bushwhacking for a few epic turns, still so worth it😂
This seems like a dream
thank you for the review!
Glad it was helpful!
Good video 👍
Thank you!
Try a 180 out next time
not steep and you stayed in the track lol
Nice
that’s sick
Thanks!
Do you know this ski model:Line Skis Mordecai Skis 2019? Do you think 179 cm is long enough for me? I'm 192cm and I'm looking for powder skis
I typically pick something that is abound 10cm longer than my groomer/freestyle skis so I usually ski 171 freestyle skis and my powders are 180. Also the powder skis are 100 under foot minimum
I want to get a pair of Marker Griffon demo bindings for my new Nordica Enforcer 104. Would the best fit likely be a 100mm or 110mm brake ??? Thx
Personally I would try to run a 100mm and bend the brakes out a bit. The shop you take it to mount at should have both and you can see how both fit.
The pivots are great, but they cost just as much as my skis (revolt 90 eyes)
It’s insane but they will last
Nice chowder
If you max your DIN at 11, which is high, wouldn’t you need the 14 or 15? I was always told it was better not to be near the max long term.
Hey thanks for you comment! I usually run my dins at 8-9 so 11 is my very max if I wanted to do something crazy! And yes you are right if I was gonna run 11 regularly I wouldn’t want to do it on these so I plan on keeping em at 8 which is right I the middle of the scale. Also since looks let you run lower dins because of the design, an 11 on other bindings you could run as a 9-10 on looks and get the same hold! Great comment!
That snow looks way too soft
On the East coast if it’s white it goes😂
Good video, just gotta mention though, griffons are the worst bindings on the market for adjustability (Besides look pivots). MAX you can get one boot size in either direction. For me, I had to specially mount them in between two boot sizes to fit two pairs of boots in them. I have the 2024s so let me know if they changed it this year but I never heard anything.
I use to share them from my friends who where somewhat same shoe size as me but those were the old models, like 10 years old by now lol. I'm not sure how adjustable these new models are but I can update you when this season starts! Great comment!
Speaking from user experience, two major points you missed. 1. Pro: The relatively small drill patterns for the mounting bolts allows for the ski to flex longitudinally more naturally than bindings with larger footprint hole patterns, which in my opinion raises comfort and control while skiing since I'm able to feel the ski bending through turns and hits. 2. Con: Pivot heels are noticeably more difficult to fully click into than other style heelpieces, especially in deep, soft, and/or wet snow and on steep slopes. It's possible to be partially clicked in, with the outer portion of the heelpiece not snapped fully "up" which can be a safety concern. And the heels can rotate while trying to click in if the boot heel isn't aligned correctly with the heelpiece. These are things I am willing to live with (most Pivot users probably are), but people looking for a more user friendly binding they can step into without thinking about should look elsewhere.
Great comment! Thank you for your input!
@@jmjtutorials Thanks!
Was that a body in the snow
No
Great points. I will say, however, that it’s worth noting the Jester uses magnesium components in place of some of the plastic that’s in the Griffons. I just figured it’s worth mentioning that it’s not only the din range that differs the Jester from the Griffon.
This is true however on my past jesters they experienced similar wear and tear as the griffons. So I t seems to me that their just beefier but have the some similar flaws. Great input!
I just 86'ed my griffins for pivots. Just better clamps.
Agreed, I’m setting all my new pairs up with pivots and replacing the bindings on my old used skis with griffons.
Just go into the trees, you’ll be in powder for the whole run
Turning away from the woods kills me… all that beautiful pow…
