    Very cute puppy (who is a grown dog by now). Just a reminder to anyone watching this video that it is not safe to be in the front seat of a car with a puppy in your lap. If the air bags deploy in an accident, the puppy could be injured or killed as could the passenger. The safest option is a properly secured carrier on the back seat or in the cargo area of a larger vehicle like a SUV.

    I grew up with a sheltie too named Tyler. No one was named Tyler when I was growing up so when I started to meet Tylers I thought it was a dogs name. He was a great dog and lived 14 years. I couldn’t get my own sheltie because it would make me think too much of Tyler. My parents finally got a dog, their first since Tyler died 20 years ago. My dad was that broken hearted about Tyler. But they got a beagle and I got a beagle. Then I got a cane corso. But shelties will always have my heart

    Furry guys like him want a cool hard surface to sleep on, they hate most beds and blankets from my experience when it comes to actually sleeping. Unless they really like you and want to be in your bed.

    Big tip for dog owners, once your dog is at half-life, get a pup, it'll entertain your dog, it'll take care of your dog when it gets older & you won't feel empty when the older dog passes. We're on our 4th Sheltie. 😉

    • @laughingdogink155

      I love all dogs, but especially love shelties! One of the best dogs I have ever had! That and two pitbulls! So I agree with getting another dog!! Helps SO much!!! All my 3 dogs loved each other and were lovely gentle dogs that loved children and cats, as my male pitbull Bully, loved my cat Kirby.😄... AND his sister named Baby, especially loved children, and cats too!💖 Good people make great dogs,, as is seen above in this video! Plus...my Sheltie MacMurray was Alpha dog, because I got him first! A very gentle but firm alpha!😉

      @MrBikkyLover ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. Our Sheltie doesn’t like other dogs. Even his own kind.

    • @CNile-se9xw
      @CNile-se9xw ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrBikkyLover Don't slam the door on the idea just yet. 😉 Yours may be showing aggression merely to exhibit that any other dog is within his/her boundary. It's a canine hierarchy trait & not a problem if handled correctly. I'd suggest that when you return from picking up your pup, only one of you comes inside to give your current dog plenty of reassurance/love & a favourite treat while staying close by being between it & the logical entry path for your partner to quietly enter with the pup & set it free but restrain it from wandering straight into your dog's territory. Your dog should then see that this small unfamiliar furball isn't a threat, as YOU'VE set the boundaries/rules. Believe me, established indoctrinated trainers would be outraged by me. I've always been quiet & gentle with our boys, yet they know that they don't have the upper hand & know their place. My wife complains that when she has a snack, each of our boys has pestered her for some of it. In reality, they've just quietly sat there giving her pleading looks. She's a control freak, so she raises her voice & says NO while maintaining eye contact. WRONG. If I have a treat, they've played the guilt/plea card but I just continue until I'm done. Nothing said, no eye contact & they get the drift, though at times I'll give them some but if they snap at it, I quickly withdraw it & eat it while having eye contact. Pardon me for saying this, but you are following my wife's UNSUCCESSFUL rules & you will be doomed to failure & heartache if you don't adjust. PLEASE follow my advice to save yourself from heartbreak when your 4 legged friend passes. We were ignorant when our first passed & we were devastated by the loss.

      I have had adult Shelties since 1996, and when I lost my amazing Jazzie II in September of 2021, I decided I simply could not have another dog, so I gave all toys, equipment, beds, etc. away. I lasted ten months, then found a three-year old in need of a new home. She is so loving and affectionate, and I was hers from Day One, and she is now showing that she is mine. It took three months, but the snuggles and cuddling were worth the patience that went into them. She is a real sweetie, and progressing well. I have had five, and they have all been wonderful companions, so I knew I would never own another breed. I had Collies, on our farm as a child, but they are too large for a house. Shelties are more mellow. Collies are really farm workers, learning to do many things independently. Our last Collie was mine alone, and very protective of not only the farm and its animals, but especially, of me. The tone of his bark at night let us know his concern. He was very, very intelligent.
