I took the precepts 13 years ago at a Korean zen temple in Toronto. Now I’m in a place where there is no zen temple. I watch the frames of this video with a certain sense of nostalgia and longing. I recognize everything. Personal practice is nice, but I miss the Sangha, and the space.

In 4 minutes more truth than a zillion hours of YT videos. Life is not as complicated as we make it out to be. ❤

Stupid teaching as many times with Zen. They want to be funny but are just stupid. EAT, SLEEP SHIT. Then, if it is just that, why do you need so many temples all over the world, just to teach people: eat, sleep shit? Why then sit there and give a speech? You are lying to yourself and to people who think that it shows deep wisdom. Hypocrites. Besides, Zen master Ikkyu said something similar, centuries befopre. So she is just copying him..

Come on, absurd. Enlightenment would be coming to feel satisfied and happy to eat, sleep and shit and then die. But come on. This is a very misleading take on the message of simplicity. So why don't human beings party from morning till night to be able to do those four things? because they are perverse? stupid? because they have lost sight of “what matters”? Ridiculous. What u take away from this is I complex thangs way to much . I'm obviously gonna do more than just east and sleep and shit . A lot more than that . However there is way to many thangs intru to control in which u have no control over or are past things and cannot change . I also have many distractions in my life . Not a fan of this “shock jock” style of dharma talk. For what actual purpose is the foul language? And do not get on me for being easily offended; everyone knows there are standards of language. I’m just wondering why this ‘teacher’ chooses to speak in a manner that I cannot share with my elderly grandmother, for example. Just as it would be rude to use those words in front of her, it is at least in poor taste to use gutter language in a dharma talk. But, I know what your response will be; to fault the one who raises a legitimate point with accusations of being ‘too attached to words’. For the benefit of everyone, clean up your act.

It makes me happy too, as i feel these few words together as a poem unburdens the mass of the upturned pyramid of the rely-gones, the fear of death instilled along with all its pressures upon our shoulders.
