Hardcore Detroit
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 4 มิ.ย. 2006
This channel is intended to show (in my opinion) the best of what Detroit has to offer as it relates to underground street art culture in the city that is not often promoted or things I personally captured on my cam that follows suit. Many of my vids will be digitized from old analog tapes and it will not have that current TikTok clarity; however, the footage will be unique and you should find worthwhile substance in them. Every now and then, I may upload something that may be a little off of topic - just bare with me, I may be attempting something different, and most likely, I will delete anyway. My name is Stringz, thanks for visiting my channel and remember to like share and subscribe.

My 2cents:
I'm sure Puerto Ricans and Jamaicans, etc, had communities in other parts of America at the time. Did those communities contribute to any early hip-hop innovations, or was it essential to be neighbors with FBA's in New York? If the same creative energy existed in other Puerto Rican/Jamaicans, etc, communities across the U.S., why don’t we see similar hip-hop contributions from those areas?
FBA has consistently demonstrated a proven track record of cultural innovation in cities across America. If I’m wrong, feel free to provide evidence to the contrary.
If Fat Joe and Busta Rhymes had never mentioned the "50/50" claim, we wouldn’t even be discussing this topic to this extent. As you can see, Black people have always openly shared the culture without micromanaging it. It’s others who attempt to be slick, trying to colonize the culture while constantly shifting the narrative when confronted.
Breakin/B-Boy
In my view, the essence of the dance at its inception is embodied in the swag and dress, b-boy stances, poses, expressive motions and movements, floor work, attitude, spirit, slang, music, funk, and the break-elements that are deeply rooted in FBA culture and remain integral to the dance today.
These foundational aspects are what truly define a b-boy, distinguishing them from a breakdancer or any other category. It’s not solely the specific moves that define the dance, as new moves are constantly being innovated. By that logic, one could mistakenly claim that Asians "created" breakin’ simply due to their current dominance in the scene. However, foundational moves like backspins, headspins, and CCs-while now considered staples-are unimaginable without the cultural influences and groundwork laid by those who came before.

These two artists influenced me along my dance journey. Before there was a Hardcore Detroit, there was Awesome Dre and the Hardcore Committee. I remember watching his videos on the TV in the 90s, and he became one of my favorite local rappers. The song "I'm Freaky" by Doc Chill was my favorite song to jit to back in the 90s. It was great to be able to share the stage with these two Detroit icon...
