Fodie Hill Farm
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 ม.ค. 2023
Fodie Hill Farms is a small farm on 4 acres in S. GA. We have a lot of animals and grow all kinds of food.
My goal is to slow down a little and enjoy things more. I’m learning more skills for cooking and preserving things in the kitchen, and trying to lean as many things about homesteading as I can. I hope you enjoy these adventures that you go on with me!

Last garden tour of 2024
This is the last garden tour for 2024. Walking you through to show you some of the things that are still growing from the summer garden, some things that have been planted for the fall/winter garden, some of the first volunteers I have ever had in my garden, and plans for next year‘s inground garden. We also picked 2024 sweet potatoes.

Using cranberries two ways. Cranberry juice for drinking and cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving! This is a new family favorite. If you haven’t made it yet, you should! #canning #cranberries #cranberry #cranberryjuice
First time growing this squash
มุมมอง 553 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey y’all, it’s Mel with Fodie Farms. This is the first time growing the Seminole squash that we ate at a farm to table restaurant. The following week I went to a farmers market and in a different town and happened to find a start of the same squash. I got multiples fruit off of this plant and I am going to save the seeds so that I can grow this for years to come. This is one of my new favorite...
Easy shredded chicken
มุมมอง 244 หลายเดือนก่อน
For the longest time when I needed shredded chicken, I would take two forks and sit there, ripping apart the chicken breast until it was shredded. I came across this hack and I will never use to shred chicken again. Happy cooking! #chicken #cooking #cookinghacks
2nd Carrot Harvest of 2024
มุมมอง 745 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey yall it’s Mel with Fodie Hill Farms. First let me say sorry the beginning of the video my head is cut off. I have tried to fix it but it won’t zoom out when I try to edit it. I am trying to see if I can grow carrots year round for fresh eating where I live. This is the second harvest of the season. I will be replanting these and hopefully get another harvest in a few months again. #homestea...
This is better then expected

I love roses! And after seeing these little rose bushes I had the best idea. Let’s plant out my GreenStalk with roses. This is the best idea I have had for any of my GreenStalk. I’m also so happy that he is always down for my adventures. He supports me in all my garden endeavors and I am forever grateful for him!! He is the best!! #homestead #farmstead #gardening #garden #2024garden #greenstalk...
2024 Potatoes Harvest
มุมมอง 7535 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey y’all, it’s Mel from Fodie Hill Farms. Today we’re going to harvest potatoes before the storm comes in. We have two types of potatoes in the ground Kennebec and Yukon gold. This is the third year of me growing potatoes but the worst harvest yet. Even though the harvest is not the best, everything is still edible and I got to play in the dirt for a little while, which is always a good thing!...

Enjoyed the garden tour 💚👨🏿🌾
Awesome video!!!! I love Nova and Debo
It was good too!!!!!!
don't half a cow
I know if you buy a cow that was used for milk you get mostly fat so I was told it depends on what kind of cow you buy i was told you want a muscle meat and it should hang about 5 to 12 days to draw so many pounds of fluid out I was told us get better meat and you are not paying gor that extra fluids
I'm sorry but a whole cow ? I just watched someone get a half cow and got more meat
WRONG! She forgot to divide the dressed weight by 2, for half a cow! Half of 793 is 396.50 lbs (not including aging and deboning); $1643.80 divided by 396.5 = $4.15 per pound! Still a good deal.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just paid $1575 for half steer dressed weight 295 pounds... still need to pay the butcher another $630. Sounds like you got a great deal. From California here. 🐮

@@Rattlerjake1 That's better than a good deal, can't even get ground beef for $4.15 per pound these days.
@@PF_Goat - It all depends on WHERE you live. Cost of Living is different everywhere.
It’s a Seminole squash
Is that a butternut squash? Looks delicious 😊
Your carrots are looking good. Great harvest. Thanks for sharing your harvest wit us. Happy gardening

Thanks for sharing this video. Even though you didn't get alot. It still was a good harvest. Happy gardening
It is my first time on your channel and I have just subscribed. Thank you so much for sharing. I planted some potatoes April month end and I also planted some at the start of June. Nice harvest, Keep up the good work. All the best on this journey.🙏
I planted Tractor Supply Red Norland, Kennebec, and Yukon Gold this year. Mine won't be ready for at least another month. I'm hoping I get good results. I have used their potatoes for 2 previous years with good results so I'm waiting patiently to see how they do. Wishing you better luck on your other potatoes.
I have heard people use the tounge as sandwich meat.
So cool to see how much meat that actually is!!! When I was 16, my boyfriend gifted half a cow to my family. I never knew!
Nice choice on the extra sausages and ground meat. I am so sick of pork chops. There was a time when that was the only meat we could afford, I just can't anymore 😂
Same here! 😂 And we love breakfast so that’s why I decided to do that.
@@Fodiehillfarm when you know, you know. Looking forward to following your journey!
This is great to see. I am hoping to buy meat like this once we find our forever home. As a single mom, who works full time, raising meat animals is more than I want to take on.
I have enough room to raise meat animals, but we have 2 business which take A LOT of my time. So I decided to go with the next best thing. Buy from a local farmer!!
Your garden is doing great! Love those hydrangeas!
Great Build 😁🎉
Looking Lovely 😍
Hi i love the music! Do You have the recipe for muffins? Thanks❤
710 g flour 2 cups milk (warmed) 37 g sugar 3 teaspoons of yeast 14 g of salt 1 room temp egg 1/4 cup of butter Cornmeal to sprinkle in pan Hope you enjoy!!
Yummy😊
I like the sound of your voice
9:18 those are Seminole squash
Nice carrot 🥕 harvest . Congrats 👏🏿👏🏿
Respectfully ask to revisit your numbers. Actual meat would be closer to 528 pounds after aging, trim and deboning (40% live weight). Since you got half, that would be 264 pounds of usable product, or $6.22 per pound. Still a great deal though
it's much closer to 60% live weight. Wonder where this guy lives.
Awesome harvest! I never had any luck with the starts at regular box stores . So I bought the seeds, and I accomplished growing decent onions. Still could've been better , but wrong bed . So yeah .
Thank you for sharing, so inspiring!
What a fabulous garden new subscriber in the uk 🇬🇧
Nice job 💚🌻👏🏿🐝
Great deal ! Very impressive! I wish I could do that to
Oh yay, Im about to start a garden in a new climate. Just found your channel, happy to grow with you ❤. I just got my kajari melon seeds on Friday, been wanting to try that one for over a year. I have peppers in my apartment garden 😂. I love following channels just starting out. Subscribed ❤

Nice presentation. Thanks for the information and pricing.
Delicious!
What a beautiful life style 😊
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚Oh Yeah
❤❤❤
Does he ship meat?
Great video! Where did you buy your half cow?
A local processor that does my deer. He gets with a rancher that raises cattle and they do cows on the off season.
