ill will be uploading some videos of how I play my favorite Jimi, Frusciante, and RHCP riffs. If you like how they sound and want to learn them, make a request and I will make a tutorial video.

For the first solo, skip to 1:54 For the second solo, skip to 4:30 This is a beginner level lesson. I purposely try not to play the song because I find that tutorials quickly turn into jam sessions on youtube and make it difficult to learn. Any feedback on how to make better beginner level lessons would be great. Thanks

Nick Weir does a great job on his tutorial but if you read the comments plenty of people were still requesting help learning this song. I tried to break it down a little more with some verbal tips as well. This video is only to show you the notes, not to be a good cover video. My style on Jimi Thing This was one of the first songs I learned on guitar and consequently introduced me to the whole Jimi and Frusciante style of playing. This is a great song for beginners to learn.

The key is to barre with the side of your index finger, that'll make it easier to reach when you hammer on.

Thanks a lot dude. After watching your video i realized that there are millions of ways of using that Hendrix - Mayer - Frusciante style. So many tools of this are using in Bold as love for example. Im amazed how they figure it out to use the same technique, but to show so many different feelings. Best wishes from Argentina! =)
