Not trying to rip on Vince, but why isn’t Cody teaching every Sunday? I’ve always got so much out of Cody’s sermons, but I’m just confused. Is Cody so busy that Vince is filling in? Either way, I pray that the faith of the congregation is strong.

Stupid forgiving people when they don't care.
The things Jesus calls His followers to may not make sense to us naturally, but they are supernaturally necessary. Think of it this way...forgiveness is the key to the prison door that sets YOU free. Restoration of relationship and forgiveness are not the same thing.
Wow right out the gate you’re speaking on something I’m wrestling with. Security in my life as I begin my divorce process. Ty for this word.

@@codyking9628 I wish I could say that none applied LOL -- but the most compelling thing to me was the part about how we can steal from God ... particularly in "misuse of your life". When things get hard I want to go back to my pre-salvation days of just doing things to make me happy and please the flesh ... and this was an awesome reminder that I only have purpose when I use my life the way He intended and that He has sovreignty over my life :)

It is really powerful when you understand that the enemy is a lion (1 Peter 5:8), but Jesus has removed his teeth and claws for those who are in Christ. Don't let the big roar scare you!

Hey Piper0516, as of now I don't have any plans or invitations to be in Texas. If I ever find myself there it would be my honor to be able to meet you. I'm very encouraged and grateful that the Lord is ministering to you through our Bible teaching.

Great word, Cody. I think I'm weird though because having humility comes easy to me since I got sober and changed my life in 2009. I'm more apt to admit my own faults. Easily.
We are glad to hear that you've been able to get sober. Keep looking to Jesus for the strength to not only be victorious over sin, but to remain that way! Hebrews 12:2 "looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the same, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
