My settings work well for my hardware - the video just shows that - its not a tutorial on how to tweak VR - its a review of what I use. So many settings and changes specific to your setup and hardware that impact performance. Take what you will from the video and search up some performance guides - lots of resources out there.

@@brianvecc Gotcha...I typed up his name and you were he first to pop up, thought maybe MajorSkum was your call sign. I was once becoming an NFO till a drunk driver did drunk driver crap, so I really enjoy DCS content. Still sub'd, I enjoy your VR content.

@@speedfiend74 Drunks are the worst, sorry to hear, but VR lets us all live what we never could. Shockingly the US DOD has not yet seen it fit to give me an A-10, despite me asking. You want to follow @MjrScumbag‬ too.

I run DLAA and 4X MSAA - I'd like to NOT run DLSS but it really does help performance on my last gen GPU. No super sampling at all. Virtual Desktop in "Ultra".

i712700k, 3080Ti, 64GB DDR5, NVMe SSD - runs OK at 90 FPS in Virtual desktop , so with async time warp on I get a locked 45 FPS. Feels smooth and everything readable. I need a new everything - VR is really demanding in DCS.

not too bad. It was a huge upgrade for my Index, the pancake lenses in the Q3 offer much better edge to edge readability, so I think that helps a ton with feel OK in the sim.

The mouse is active, but I never use it in VR. The cursor I don't hide and it's locked into the last position I put it based on my VR head position, it fades away if it's not over an active control. I've got so many buttons on the STECS throttle and Cougar MFDs that I never a mouse (mostly)

I've seen that more when using SteamLink/AirLink instead of Virtual Desktop, but it could also be coming from the DLAA setting, it still has ghosting and issues in DCS. Try turning DLAA and DLSS OFF and see if that improves. Otherwise waiting for DCS updates...

I am. VKB Gladiator NXT "Premium" as a left Omni throttle. Works great for the 2-3 different airframes I fly. Trying to get some muscle memory, but the VKB STECS is tempting me as my next upgrade... I've really liked the VKB gear, went and bought their MK V T-rudders and like those as well.

@@brianveccI have a VKB STECS Standard and I strongly recommend it. You will not regret buying it.

entire communities built on tidal marshes before we knew how important they were to remain intact for flooding prevention. Just saw in the news this week Hampton Beach was flooded. Climate change is real.

no point in getting G2 over a Quest 3 now, G2 was barely an upgrade to Index in display, but IMHO the Q3 is a big step up in visuals.

Would not recommend the G2 trust me, I had one its not worth the money at all

I still get some shimmer on aircraft models and MFDs when scanning past them quickly, much reduced since first patch. I bought a Quest 3 - more to come!

it's less noticeable but is still there in certain cases - e.g. any movement between high contrast areas will have noticeable smearing - an aircraft against the sky or even cockpit edges against the sky. Granted it bothers me a lot less than with the prior patch.

good point on cracking up all the settings in detail on right hand side - had been ages since I messed with those and had minimized them for multiplayer server performance. DLAA on does look better, on my machine feels like DLSS runs smoother - plenty more tweaking to do.

Did some more testing today my initial statement saying you need to add in force open xr is no longer true DCS starts it on its own now if you are using a valve index so that is good no more screwing with shortcuts. @@brianvecc

Helps to also have the VR window in focus, but great point. I've never tried Voice Attack. Another mod for the list.

TH-cam complaining that 4K processing is "taking longer than expected" - it will happen.
